1 Then spake Saul unto Jonathan his son, and unto all his servants, that they should put David to death;
1 E falou Saul a Jônatas, seu filho, e a todos os seus servos, para que matassem a Davi. Porém Jônatas, filho de Saul, estava mui afeiçoado a Davi.
2 but, Jonathan, Sauls son, delighted in David, exceedingly,so Jonathan told David, saying, Saul, my father, is seeking to put thee to death,now, therefore, take heed to thyself I pray thee, in the morning, and abide thou in concealment, and hide thyself;
2 E Jônatas o anunciou a Davi, dizendo: Meu pai, Saul, procura matar-te, pelo que agora guarda-te pela manhã, e fica-te em oculto, e esconde-te.
3 and, I, will come out and stand beside my father, in the field where, thou, art, and, I, will speak of thee unto my father,and, if I see aught, I will tell thee.
3 E sairei eu, e estarei à mão de meu pai no campo em que estiverdes, e eu falarei de ti a meu pai, e verei o que há, e to anunciarei.
4 So then Jonathan spake of David things that were good, unto Saul his father,and said unto himMay the king not sin against his servantagainst David; for he hath not sinned against, thee, nay, indeed, his doings have been good to theeward exceedingly.
4 Então Jônatas falou bem de Davi a Saul, seu pai, e disse-lhe: Não peque o rei contra seu servo Davi, porque ele não pecou contra ti, e porque os seus feitos te são muito bons.
5 And, when he put his life in his hand, and smote the Philistine, and Yahweh wrought a great victory for all Israel, thou sawest, and didst rejoice. Wherefore, then, shouldst thou sin against innocent blood by putting David to death, without cause?
5 Porque expôs a sua vida, e feriu aos filisteus, e fez o Senhor um grande livramento a todo o Israel; tu mesmo o viste, e te alegraste; porque, pois, pecarias contra o sangue inocente, matando a Davi, sem causa?
6 And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan,and Saul sware, By the life of Yahweh, he shall not be put to death!
6 E Saul deu ouvidos à voz de Jônatas, e jurou Saul: Vive o Senhor, que não morrerá.
7 And Jonathan called for David, and Jonathan told him all these things,and Jonathan brought in David unto Saul, and so he was in his presence, as aforetime.
7 E Jônatas chamou a Davi, e contou-lhe todas estas palavras; e Jônatas levou Davi a Saul, e esteve perante ele como antes.
8 But, when the war again brake out,and David went forth and fought with the Philistines, and smote them with a great smiting, and they fled before him,
8 E tornou a haver guerra; e saiu Davi, e pelejou contra os filisteus, e feriu-os com grande matança, e fugiram diante dele.
9 then came there a sad spirit of Yahweh unto Saul, he being in his house, seated, with his spear in his hand,while, David, played with his hand,
9 Porém o espírito mau da parte do Senhor se tornou sobre Saul, estando ele assentado em sua casa, e tendo na mão a sua lança; e tocava Davi com a mão, a harpa.
10 Saul sought to smite David with the spear, even to the wall, but he slipped away from before Saul, who smote the spear into the wall,whereas, David, fled and escaped, that night.
10 E procurou Saul encravar a Davi na parede, porém ele se desviou de diante de Saul, o qual feriu com a lança a parede; então fugiu Davi, e escapou naquela mesma noite.
11 And Saul sent messengers unto Davids house, to watch him, and to put him to death, in the morning! And Michal his wife told David, saying, If thou do not deliver thyself to-night, to-morrow, art thou to be put to death.
11 Porém Saul mandou mensageiros à casa de Davi, que o guardassem, e o matassem pela manhã; do que Mical, sua mulher, avisou a Davi, dizendo: Se não salvares a tua vida esta noite, amanhã te matarão.
12 So Michal let down David, through the window, and he departed and fled, and escaped.
12 Então Mical desceu a Davi por uma janela; e ele se foi, e fugiu, e escapou.
13 And Michal took the household god, and put it in the bed, and, a fly-net of goats-hair, put she at its head,and covered it with the clothes.
13 E Mical tomou uma estátua e a deitou na cama, e pôs-lhe à cabeceira uma pele de cabra, e a cobriu com uma coberta.
14 And, when Saul sent messengers to take David, she saidHe is, sick.
14 E, mandando Saul mensageiros que trouxessem a Davi, ela disse: Está doente.
15 So Saul sent messengers to see David, saying,Bring him up in the bed unto me, that I may put him to death.
15 Então Saul tornou a mandar mensageiros que fossem a Davi, dizendo: Trazei-mo na cama, para que o mate.
16 And, when the messengers entered, lo! the household god in the bed,with a fly-net of goats-hair at its head.
16 Vindo, pois, os mensageiros, eis que a estátua estava na cama, e a pele de cabra à sua cabeceira.
17 And Saul said unto MichalWherefore, in this way, hast thou deceived me, and let go mine enemy, that he hath escaped? Then said Michal unto Saul, He, himself, said unto meLet me go, wherefore should I put thee to death?
17 Então disse Saul a Mical: Por que assim me enganaste, e deixaste ir e escapar o meu inimigo? E disse Mical a Saul: Porque ele me disse: Deixa-me ir, por que hei de eu matar-te?
18 So, David, fled, and escaped, and came in unto Samuel in Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him,and he and Samuel departed, and dwelt in Naioth.
18 Assim Davi fugiu e escapou, e foi a Samuel, em Ramá, e lhe participou tudo quanto Saul lhe fizera; e foram, ele e Samuel, e ficaram em Naiote.
19 And it was told Saul, saying,Lo! David, is in Naioth, in Ramah.
19 E o anunciaram a Saul, dizendo: Eis que Davi está em Naiote, em Ramá.
20 So Saul sent messengers to take David, but, when they saw the assembly of prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, then came the Spirit of God upon the messengers of Saul, and, they also, were, moved to prophesy.
20 Então enviou Saul mensageiros para trazerem a Davi, os quais viram uma congregação de profetas profetizando, onde estava Samuel que presidia sobre eles; e o Espírito de Deus veio sobre os mensageiros de Saul, e também eles profetizaram.
21 And, when they told Saul, and he sent other messengers, then were, they also, moved to prophesy. And, when Saul again sent messengers a third time, then were, they also, moved to prophesy.
21 E, avisado disto Saul, enviou outros mensageiros, e também estes profetizaram; então enviou Saul ainda uns terceiros mensageiros, os quais também profetizaram.
22 Then went, he also himself, to Ramah, and came in as far as the well of the threshing-floor which is in Sephi, and asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one saidLo! in Naioth, in Ramah.
22 Então foi também ele mesmo a Ramá, e chegou ao poço grande que estava em Secu; e, perguntando, disse: Onde estão Samuel e Davi? E disseram-lhe: Eis que estão em Naiote, em Ramá.
23 And, when he departed from thence towards Naioth in Ramah, then came upon, him also, the Spirit of God, and he went on and on, and was moved to prophesy, until he entered Naioth in Ramah.
23 Então foi para Naiote, em Ramá; e o mesmo Espírito de Deus veio sobre ele, e ia profetizando, até chegar a Naiote, em Ramá.
24 And, even he, stripped off his upper garments, and, even he, was moved to prophesy before Samuel, and lay prostrate, disrobed, all that day, and all the night. For this cause, do they say, Is, even Saul, among the prophets?
24 E ele também despiu as suas vestes, e profetizou diante de Samuel, e esteve nu por terra todo aquele dia e toda aquela noite; por isso se diz: Está também Saul entre os profetas?
