4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.

5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;

6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.

Jɨ̱staamɨt́im iga iŋcuɨstɨctam iŋwagapɨctsoŋtámpa t́it́am tajɨycámayñe Dios, jém vida jém d́apɨc cuyajpa. Porque siiga d́a iŋwɨ̱wadáypa jém iñyo̱mo, jesɨc d́a wɨa̱p iniŋwejpátta Dios.
7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Sɨɨp mannɨ́mayt́ámpa iñt́u̱mpɨyt́am. Nait́t́aamɨ tu̱mt́i jɨ̱xi con jém tantɨ̱wɨtam, natoyt́amta̱jɨ juuts miñuntatɨ̱wɨtam. Yaachaŋja̱mtaamɨ jém yaacha̱yajpáppɨc. Odoy nacujípta̱jɨ iñyaac.

9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.

10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 Tsa̱cɨ iga immalwatpa, siempre wa̱tɨ jém wɨbɨc cosa.
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 Porque Dios siempre iixpa jém iwɨ̱watyajpaap.
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 ¿I̱ mimalwadáypa siiga iŋwɨ̱watpa con it́u̱mpɨy íña̱nama?
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Pero siiga miyaachwatta̱p porque iŋwɨ̱watpa juuts ixunpa Cristo, jesɨc maymáya̱jɨ porque Dios miwɨ̱wadáypa. Odoy cɨ̱ŋɨ jém micumecpaap. Odoy wadaayɨ caso.
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 Siempre jɨ̱staamɨ íña̱namaŋjo̱m iga jém Jesucristo je tánO̱mi. It́t́aamɨ listo iga iŋcutsoŋpa cuando i̱ micwácpa t́iiga iñjo̱doŋ iga Dios miwɨ̱pɨctsoŋpa. Pero wɨ̱i̱xɨ, choco̱ymɨ aŋmadaayɨ. Jɨ̱staamɨ iga Dios taixt́ámpa.
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.
16 Siempre wɨ̱wa̱tɨ iga d́a iñjɨ̱spa iga mit́áŋcaɨ́y íña̱namaŋjo̱m. Jesɨc siiga i̱ mimalnɨ́máypa, tsa̱m tsaa̱yajpa cuando ixt́a̱p iga siempre iŋwɨ̱watpa juuts miŋquejayñe jém tánO̱mi Cristo.
16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 Siiga Dios ixunpa iga miyaachwatta̱p cuando iŋwɨ̱watpa, jesɨc it́ wɨ̱. Pero d́a wɨ̱ siiga miyaachwatta̱p porque immalwatne.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Tsa̱m pɨ̱mi yaachwatta̱ jém tánO̱mi Cristo. Accaata̱ iga tayojayt́a tantáŋca tu̱ŋcɨy para siempre. Accaata̱ jém wɨbɨc pɨ̱xiñ iga iyojáy it́u̱mpɨy jém malopɨc pɨxiñt́am it́áŋca iga tananɨctamta̱iñ Dios iwiñjo̱m. Accaata̱ jém Cristo imɨjta̱y, ocmɨ pɨs, e̱ybɨc ipɨctsoŋ ia̱nama.
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.
19 Cuando ca jém imɨjta̱y, oy iŋmadáy jém wɨbɨc aŋma̱t́i jém caaneyajwɨɨp ju̱t́ pajneyajta̱.
19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,
20 Aŋmadayyajta̱ jém pɨxiñt́am ia̱namayaj, jém d́apɨc icupɨcyaj wiñɨgam cuando jém Noé iwat jém mɨjpɨc barco. Jeet́im tiempo cuando Dios tsa̱m iyaachɨ́y iganam iŋjóctɨp iga ichacyajiñ jém pɨxiñt́am iga imalwatyajpa. Pero d́a wa̱t́i cɨɨputyaj solamente ocho jém pɨxiñt́am y yo̱mtam. Cuando miñ jém mɨjpɨc nɨɨco̱ma, cɨɨputyaj jém nɨɨwiñpacyucmɨ.
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 Jesanet́im sɨɨp jém nɨ tayo̱xpátpa iga tacɨacputtámiñ cuando tacchiŋtamta̱ nɨɨcɨɨm. D́a tacchiŋtamta̱ iga cuáyiñ tanna̱ca. Pero cuando tacchiŋtamta̱, taŋwágáypa Dios iga tawɨ̱tsagáyiñ tantáŋca. Tanjo̱doŋ iga wɨa̱p tawadáy Dios porque icpɨs jém tánO̱mi Jesucristo.
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 Sɨɨp nɨcne sɨŋyucmɨ jém tanJa̱tuŋ Dios iŋwɨ̱mɨ ju̱t́ accámta̱ iga jém más mɨjpɨc aŋjagooyi iga iŋjaguiñ it́u̱mpɨy jém sɨŋyucmɨpɨc pɨxiñt́am y it́u̱mpɨy jém aŋjagooyiyaj, jém it́yajwɨɨp ju̱t́quej.
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
