New Simplified Bible (NSB) vs VC
1 Jehovah, if I argued my case with you, you would prove to be right. Indeed, I must question you about matters of justice. Why are the wicked so prosperous? Why do dishonest people succeed with impunity?
1 Sois sumamente justo, Senhor, para que eu entre em disputa convosco. Entretanto, em espírito de justiça, desejaria falar-vos. Por que alcançam bom êxito os maus em tudo quanto empreendem? E por que razão vivem felizes os pérfidos?
2 You plant them, and they take root. They grow and bear fruit. You are near their lips, but far from their mind.
2 Vós os plantastes, e eles criam raízes, crescem e frutificam. Permaneceis em seus lábios; longe, porém, dos corações.
3 But, you know me, Jehovah. You see what I do and how in my heart I love you. Drag them away like sheep to be butchered. Guard them until it is time for them to be slaughtered.
3 Mas vós, Senhor, me conheceis e me vedes, e sondais os sentimentos do meu coração a vosso respeito. Arrebatai-os, quais carneiros para a matança, e consagrai-os em vista ao massacre.
4 How long will our land be dry and the grass in every field be withered? Animals and birds are dying because of the wickedness of our people. These people say: »God does not see what we are doing.«
4 Até quando permanecerá a terra em luto, e há de secar a erva dos campos? Por causa da maldade dos homens que nela habitam, animais e pássaros perecem, por haverem dito: Não verá o Senhor o nosso fim.
5 Jehovah says: »Jeremiah, if you get tired racing against people, how can you race against horses? If you cannot even stand up in open country, how will you manage in the thicket by the Jordan?«
5 Se te afadigas em correr com os que andam a pé, como poderás lutar com os {que vão a} cavalo? Se não te sentes em segurança senão em terra tranqüila, que farás na selva do Jordão?
6 »Even your relatives, members of your own family, have betrayed you. They join in the attacks against you. Do not trust them, even though they speak friendly words.
6 Teus próprios irmãos e tua família são traidores, mesmo quando em altas vozes te chamam. Não creias neles, mesmo que te dirijam palavras amigas.
7 Jehovah says: »I have abandoned Israel. I have rejected my chosen nation. I have given the people I love into the power of their enemies.
7 Deixei minha família, abandonei minha herança, e releguei a mãos inimigas o que de mais caro possuía o meu coração.
8 »My chosen people have turned against me. Like a lion in the forest they have roared at me, and so I hate them.
8 Meu povo foi para mim qual leão na floresta, a rugir contra mim: eis por que o tenho em aversão.
9 »My chosen people are like a bird attacked from all sides by hawks. Call the wild animals to come and join in the feast!
9 Será minha herança qual abutre matizado cercado de aves de rapina? Vamos! Reuni todos os animais selvagens, e conduzi-os à carniça!
10 »Many foreign rulers have destroyed my vineyard. They trampled down my fields and turned my beautiful land into a desert.
10 Pastores, em grande número, destruíram minha vinha, e pisaram minhas terras, transformando em horrível deserto minha encantadora propriedade.
11 »They made it a wasteland. It lies desolate before me. The whole land has become a desert, and no one cares.
11 Tornaram-na uma solidão e apresentaram-na a meus olhos enlutada e devastada. Desolada ficou toda a terra, pois que ninguém mais a toma a peito.
12 »Across the entire desert highlands people have come to plunder. Jehovah has sent war to destroy the entire land. No one can live in peace.
12 De todos os cantos do deserto surgem os devastadores. A espada do Senhor dizima a terra inteira, e para ninguém haverá salvação.
13 »My people planted wheat. They gathered weeds! They worked hard and got nothing for it. Because of my fierce anger their crops have failed.«
13 Semearam trigo, e só colheram espinhos, fatigando-se inutilmente. Foi-lhes decepcionante a colheita, por causa da grande cólera do Senhor.
14 Jehovah says: »I have something to say about Israel's neighbors who have ruined the land I gave to my people Israel. I will take those wicked people away from their countries like an uprooted plant, and I will rescue Judah from them.
14 Eis o que diz o Senhor contra todos os meus maus vizinhos que usurpam a herança que eu dera a meu povo de Israel: vou arrancá-los de suas terras, e do meio deles apartar a tribo de Judá.
15 »But after I have taken them away I will have mercy on them. I will bring each nation back to its own land and to its own country.
15 Quando os houver, porém, arrancado, apiedar-me-ei deles novamente e os reconduzirei cada um à sua herança, cada um à sua terra.
16 »If with all their hearts they will accept the religion of my people and will swear: As Jehovah lives, as they once taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will also be a part of my people and will prosper.
16 Se aprenderem a seguir os caminhos prescritos ao meu povo, e a jurar em meu nome, Pela vida de Deus!, tal como ensinaram meu povo a jurar por Baal, então terão direito de cidadania no meio do meu povo.
17 »However if any nation will not obey I will completely uproot it and destroy it.« I, Jehovah, have spoken.
17 Se, porém, não me escutarem, desarraigarei essa gente e a exterminarei - oráculo do Senhor.
