Isaías 42
New Simplified Bible (NSB) vs ARA
1 Here is my servant, whom I have strengthened. Here is the one I have chosen, with whom I am pleased. I have filled him with my Spirit, and he will bring justice to every nation.
1 Eis aqui o meu servo, a quem sustenho; o meu escolhido, em quem a minha alma se compraz; pus sobre ele o meu Espírito, e ele promulgará o direito para os gentios.
2 He will not shout or raise his voice or make loud speeches in the streets.
2 Não clamará, nem gritará, nem fará ouvir a sua voz na praça.
3 He will not break off a bent reed nor extinguish a flickering lamp. He will bring lasting justice to all.
3 Não esmagará a cana quebrada, nem apagará a torcida que fumega; em verdade, promulgará o direito.
4 He will not lose hope or courage. He will establish justice on the earth. Distant lands eagerly wait for his law.
4 Não desanimará, nem se quebrará até que ponha na terra o direito; e as terras do mar aguardarão a sua doutrina.
5 God created the heavens and stretched them out. He fashioned the earth and all that lives there. He gave life and breath to all its people. And now Jehovah God says to his servant:
5 Assim diz Deus, o Senhor , que criou os céus e os estendeu, formou a terra e a tudo quanto produz; que dá fôlego de vida ao povo que nela está e o espírito aos que andam nela.
6 »I, Jehovah, have called you and have given you power to see that justice is done on earth. I will make a covenant with all peoples and bring light truthlight of instruction (Psalm 27:1) to the nations through you.
6 Eu, o Senhor , te chamei em justiça, tomar-te-ei pela mão, e te guardarei, e te farei mediador da aliança com o povo e luz para os gentios;
7 »You will open the eyes of the blind and set free those who sit in dark prisons.
7 para abrires os olhos aos cegos, para tirares da prisão o cativo e do cárcere, os que jazem em trevas.
8 »I ALONE AM JEHOVAH. THAT IS MY NAME. I WILL NOT GIVE MY GLORY TO ANOTHER! I will not let idols share my praise.
8 Eu sou o Senhor , este é o meu nome; a minha glória, pois, não a darei a outrem, nem a minha honra, às imagens de escultura.
9 »The things I predicted have now come true. Now I will tell you of new things even before they begin to happen.«
9 Eis que as primeiras predições já se cumpriram, e novas coisas eu vos anuncio; e, antes que sucedam, eu vo-las farei ouvir.
10 Sing a new song to Jehovah. Sing his praise, all the world! Praise him, you that sail the sea. Praise him, all creatures of the sea! Sing, distant lands and all who live there!
10 Cantai ao Senhor um cântico novo e o seu louvor até às extremidades da terra, vós, os que navegais pelo mar e tudo quanto há nele, vós, terras do mar e seus moradores.
11 Let the desert and its towns praise God. Let the people of Kedar praise him! Let those who live in the city of Sela shout for joy from the tops of the mountains!
11 Alcem a voz o deserto, as suas cidades e as aldeias habitadas por Quedar; exultem os que habitam nas rochas e clamem do cimo dos montes;
12 Let those who live in distant lands give praise and glory to Jehovah!
12 deem honra ao Senhor e anunciem a sua glória nas terras do mar.
13 Jehovah goes out to fight like a warrior. He is ready and eager for battle. He gives a war cry, a battle shout and he shows his power against his enemies.
13 O Senhor sairá como valente, despertará o seu zelo como homem de guerra; clamará, lançará forte grito de guerra e mostrará sua força contra os seus inimigos.
14 »I kept silent for a long time. I did not answer my people. The time to act has come. I cry out like a woman in labor.
14 Por muito tempo me calei, estive em silêncio e me contive; mas agora darei gritos como a parturiente, e ao mesmo tempo ofegarei, e estarei esbaforido.
15 »I will destroy the hills and mountains and dry up the grass and trees. I will turn the river valleys into deserts and dry up the pools of water.
15 Os montes e outeiros devastarei e toda a sua erva farei secar; tornarei os rios em terra firme e secarei os lagos.
16 »I will lead my blind people by roads they have never traveled. I will turn their darkness into light and make rough country smooth before them. I will keep my promises without fail.«
16 Guiarei os cegos por um caminho que não conhecem, fá-los-ei andar por veredas desconhecidas; tornarei as trevas em luz perante eles e os caminhos escabrosos, planos. Estas coisas lhes farei e jamais os desampararei.
17 Those who trust in idols and call images their gods will be humiliated and disgraced.
17 Tornarão atrás e confundir-se-ão de vergonha os que confiam em imagens de escultura e às imagens de fundição dizem: Vós sois nossos deuses.
18 Jehovah says: »Hear, you deaf people! Look closely, you who are blind!«
18 Surdos, ouvi, e vós, cegos, olhai, para que possais ver.
19 Is anyone more blind than my servant or more deaf than the messenger I send?
19 Quem é cego, como o meu servo, ou surdo, como o meu mensageiro, a quem envio? Quem é cego, como o meu amigo, e cego, como o servo do Senhor ?
20 Israel, you have seen so much, but what has it meant to you? You have ears to hear with, but what have you really heard?
20 Tu vês muitas coisas, mas não as observas; ainda que tens os ouvidos abertos, nada ouves.
21 Jehovah is a God who is eager to save. He exalted his laws and teachings, and he wanted his people to honor them.
21 Foi do agrado do Senhor , por amor da sua própria justiça, engrandecer a lei e fazê-la gloriosa.
22 Now his people have been plundered. They are locked up in dungeons and hidden away in prisons. They were robbed and plundered, with no one to come to their rescue.
22 Não obstante, é um povo roubado e saqueado; todos estão enlaçados em cavernas e escondidos em cárceres; são postos como presa, e ninguém há que os livre; por despojo, e ninguém diz: Restitui.
23 Will any of you listen to this? From now on will you listen with care?
23 Quem há entre vós que ouça isto? Que atenda e ouça o que há de ser depois?
24 Who gave Israel up to the looters? It was Jehovah, against whom we sinned! We would not live as he wanted us to live or obey the teachings he gave us.
24 Quem entregou Jacó por despojo e Israel, aos roubadores? Acaso, não foi o Senhor , aquele contra quem pecaram e nos caminhos do qual não queriam andar, não dando ouvidos à sua lei?
25 So he made us feel the force of his anger and suffer the violence of war. Like fire his anger burned throughout Israel. Yet we never knew what was happening. We learned nothing at all from it.
25 Pelo que derramou sobre eles o furor da sua ira e a violência da guerra; isto lhes ateou fogo ao redor, contudo, não o entenderam; e os queimou, mas não fizeram caso.
