New Simplified Bible (NSB) vs ARA
1 Sarai, Abrams wife, had borne him no children. She had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar.
1 Ora, Sarai, mulher de Abrão, não lhe dava filhos; tendo, porém, uma serva egípcia, por nome Agar,
2 She said to Abram: »Jehovah has kept me from having children. Go sleep with my maidservant. Perhaps I can build a family through her.« Abram agreed to what Sarai said.
2 disse Sarai a Abrão: Eis que o Senhor me tem impedido de dar à luz filhos; toma, pois, a minha serva, e assim me edificarei com filhos por meio dela. E Abrão anuiu ao conselho de Sarai.
3 After Abram lived in Canaan ten years, Sarai, his wife, gave her Egyptian maidservant Hagar to her husband to be his wife.
3 Então, Sarai, mulher de Abrão, tomou a Agar, egípcia, sua serva, e deu-a por mulher a Abrão, seu marido, depois de ter ele habitado por dez anos na terra de Canaã.
4 Abram had intercourse with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress.
4 Ele a possuiu, e ela concebeu. Vendo ela que havia concebido, foi sua senhora por ela desprezada.
5 Then Sarai said to Abram: »You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms; she knows she is pregnant and she despises me. May Jehovah judge between you and me.«
5 Disse Sarai a Abrão: Seja sobre ti a afronta que se me faz a mim. Eu te dei a minha serva para a possuíres; ela, porém, vendo que concebeu, desprezou-me. Julgue o Senhor entre mim e ti.
6 »Your servant is in your hands,« Abram said. »Do with her whatever you think best.« Then Sarai mistreated Hagar. So she ran away from her.
6 Respondeu Abrão a Sarai: A tua serva está nas tuas mãos, procede segundo melhor te parecer. Sarai humilhou-a, e ela fugiu de sua presença.
7 The angel of Jehovah found Hagar near a spring in the desert. It was the spring that is beside the road to Shur.
7 Tendo-a achado o Anjo do Senhor junto a uma fonte de água no deserto, junto à fonte no caminho de Sur,
8 He said: »Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?« »I am running away from my mistress Sarai,« she answered.
8 disse-lhe: Agar, serva de Sarai, donde vens e para onde vais? Ela respondeu: Fujo da presença de Sarai, minha senhora.
9 Then the angel of Jehovah told her: »Go back to your mistress and submit to her.
9 Então, lhe disse o Anjo do Senhor : Volta para a tua senhora e humilha-te sob suas mãos.
10 »I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count.«
10 Disse-lhe mais o Anjo do Senhor : Multiplicarei sobremodo a tua descendência, de maneira que, por numerosa, não será contada.
11 Jehovahs angel also said: »You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael means: God hears. Jehovah has heard of your misery.
11 Disse-lhe ainda o Anjo do Senhor : Concebeste e darás à luz um filho, a quem chamarás Ismael, porque o Senhor te acudiu na tua aflição.
12 »He Ishmael will be a wild donkey of a man. His hand will be against everyone and everyones hand against him. He will live in hostility toward all his brothers.«
12 Ele será, entre os homens, como um jumento selvagem; a sua mão será contra todos, e a mão de todos, contra ele; e habitará fronteiro a todos os seus irmãos.
13 She called the name of Jehovah, who spoke to her: »You are the God who sees me, for she said, I have not seen the one who sees me."
13 Então, ela invocou o nome do Senhor , que lhe falava: Tu és Deus que vê; pois disse ela: Não olhei eu neste lugar para aquele que me vê?
14 That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi Well of the Living One Who Sees Me. It is still there, between Kadesh and Bered.
14 Por isso, aquele poço se chama Beer-Laai-Roi; está entre Cades e Berede.
15 Hagar bore Abram a son. Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne.
15 Agar deu à luz um filho a Abrão; e Abrão, a seu filho que lhe dera Agar, chamou-lhe Ismael.
16 Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.
16 Era Abrão de oitenta e seis anos, quando Agar lhe deu à luz Ismael.
