1 Jehovah continued to speak his word to me:
1 Recebi outra mensagem do S enhor :
2 »Son of man, look toward the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them.
2 “Filho do homem, volte o rosto para os montes de Israel e profetize contra eles.
3 »Say this: You mountains of Israel listen to the word of the Lord Jehovah! This is what the Lord Jehovah says to the mountains and hills and to the ravines and valleys: »I am going to attack you with a sword and destroy your worship sites.
3 Proclame esta mensagem do S enhor Soberano contra os montes de Israel. Assim diz o S enhor Soberano aos montes, às colinas, aos desfiladeiros e aos vales: Estou prestes a trazer guerra sobre vocês e destruir seus santuários idólatras.
4 »Your altars will be destroyed! Your incense burners will be smashed. I will kill your people in front of your idols.
4 Todos os seus altares serão demolidos, e seus lugares de adoração serão destruídos. Matarei o povo diante de seus ídolos.
5 »I will lay the dead bodies of the people of Israel in front of your idols. I will even scatter their bones around your altars.
5 Porei os cadáveres dos israelitas diante de seus ídolos e espalharei os ossos ao redor de seus altares.
6 »Your dwelling places in the cities will be ruined, and the worship sites will be wrecked. Your altars will be ruined and demolished. Your idols will be smashed and completely destroyed. Your incense burners will be cut down. Everything you have done will be wiped out.
6 Onde quer que vocês vivam, haverá desolação, e destruirei os santuários idólatras. Seus altares serão demolidos, seus ídolos serão despedaçados, seus lugares de adoração serão derrubados e todos os objetos religiosos que vocês fizeram serão destruídos.
7 »Your people will be killed and they will fall among you. Then you will know that I am Jehovah.
7 O lugar ficará cheio de cadáveres, e vocês saberão que somente eu sou o S enhor .
8 »However, I will let some people live. Some people will escape the battle among the nations and be scattered throughout the countries.
8 “Deixarei, porém, que alguns do meu povo escapem da destruição, e eles serão espalhados entre as nações do mundo.
9 »Then those who escape will remember me among the nations where they are taken captive. I was hurt by their adulterous hearts, which turned away from me, and by their eyes, which lusted after idols. They will hate themselves for the evil and disgusting things that they have done.
9 Então, quando estiverem exilados entre as nações, se lembrarão de mim. Reconhecerão quanto me entristece seu coração infiel e seus olhos lascivos por seus ídolos. Por fim, terão nojo de si mesmos por causa de todos os seus pecados detestáveis.
10 »Then you will know that I am Jehovah and that the disaster I promised was not an empty threat.«
10 Saberão que somente eu sou o S enhor e que falava sério quando disse que traria sobre eles essa calamidade.
11 »The Lord Jehovah says: Clap your hands, stomp your feet, and say, How sad! The people of Israel have done evil and disgusting things. So they will die in wars, famines, and plagues.
11 “Assim diz o S enhor Soberano: Batam palmas de horror e batam os pés. Gritem por causa de todos os pecados detestáveis que o povo de Israel cometeu. Agora, morrerão de guerra, fome e doença.
12 »Plagues will kill those who are far away. Those who are near will die in wars. Anyone who is left and has escaped will die of famine. This is how I will unleash my rage.
12 A doença matará os que estiverem exilados em lugares distantes, a guerra destruirá os que estiverem por perto, e os que sobrarem morrerão de fome. Enfim derramarei toda a minha fúria sobre eles.
13 »Then you will know that I am Jehovah. Those who are killed will lie beside the idols around their altars. They will lie on every high hill, on all the mountaintops, and under every large tree and every leafy oak. These are the places where they made offerings to their disgusting idols.
13 Eles saberão que sou o S enhor quando seus mortos estiverem espalhados entre os ídolos e os altares em todas as colinas e montes, debaixo de toda árvore verdejante e de todo carvalho que dá sombra, os lugares onde ofereciam sacrifícios a seus ídolos.
14 »I will stretch out my hand use my power against them and destroy the land from the desert to Diblah. THEN THEY WILL KNOW THAT I AM JEHOVAH!«
14 Eu os arrasarei e deixarei suas cidades desoladas, desde o deserto, no sul, até Ribla, no norte. Então saberão que eu sou o S enhor ”.
