1 »These are the ordinances you should set before them.
1 Agora estes são os juízos que colocarás diante deles.
2 »When you buy a Hebrew slave he will be your slave for six years. In the seventh year he may leave as a free man without paying for his freedom.
2 Se comprares um servo Hebreu, seis anos ele te servirá, e no sétimo ele sairá livre, gratuitamente.
3 »If he was single at the time you bought him he alone must be set free. If he was married at that time, both he and his wife must be given their freedom.
3 Se ele entrou só, deverá sair só. Se era casado, sua esposa sairá com ele.
4 »If his master gives him a wife, and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children will belong to her master. He shall go out alone.
4 Se seu senhor lhe deu uma esposa, e ela lhe gerou filhos ou filhas, a esposa e seus filhos serão do seu senhor, e ele sairá só.
5 »What if the slave loves his wife and children so much that he will not leave without them?
5 E se o servo disser claramente: Amo o meu senhor, a minha esposa e meus filhos, eu não sairei livre,
6 »He must stand beside either the door or the doorpost at the place of worship. His owner will punch a small hole through one of his ears with a sharp metal rod. This makes him a slave for life.
6 então seu senhor o levará aos juízes, e também o levará à porta, ou ao umbral da porta, e o seu senhor lhe furará a orelha com uma sovela; e ele o servirá para sempre.
7 »When a man sells his daughter into slavery, she will not go free the way male slaves do.
7 E se um homem vender sua filha para ser serva, ela não sairá como saem os servos.
8 »If she does not please the master who has chosen her as a wife, he must let her be bought back by one of her close relatives. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, since he has treated her unfairly.
8 Se ela não agradar ao seu senhor, que se comprometeu a desposá-la então ele permitirá que seja resgatada; ele não poderá vendê-la a uma nação estrangeira, visto tê-la enganado.
9 »If a man buys a female slave to give to his son, he should treat her like a daughter.
9 Mas se a desposar com seu filho, agirá com ela conforme a maneira das filhas.
10 »If a man takes a second wife, he must continue to give his first wife the same amount of food and clothing and the same rights that she had before.
10 Se tomar para ele outra esposa, não diminuirá seu alimento, sua vestimenta e nem sua obrigação matrimonial.
11 »If he fails to do any of these things, she should be given her freedom without cost.
11 E se ele não cumprir estes três para com ela, então ela sairá livre destituída de dinheiro.
12 »Death is the punishment for murder.
12 Aquele que ferir a um homem, e ele morrer, certamente será morto.
13 »If you did not intend to kill someone and I, Jehovah, let it happen anyway, you may run for safety to a place that I have set aside.
13 Se um homem não estiver de emboscada, mas Deus o entregar em sua mão, então eu te designarei um lugar para o qual ele fugirá.
14 »If a man schemes and kills a man deliberately remove him from my altar and put him to death.
14 Mas se um homem vier premeditadamente contra o seu próximo, para matá-lo à traição, afastá-lo-ás do meu altar para que morra.
15 »He who strikes beats his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.
15 E aquele que ferir seu pai ou sua mãe, certamente será morto.
16 »Whoever kidnaps another person must be put to death regardless of whether he has sold the kidnapped person or still has him.
16 E aquele que furtar um homem e o vender, ou se for encontrado em sua mão, certamente será morto.
17 »Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.
17 E aquele que amaldiçoa o seu pai ou a sua mãe, certamente será morto.
18 »When men quarrel and one hits the other with a rock or with his fist and injures him so that he has to stay in bed you must do this.
18 E se homens lutarem juntos, e um ferir o outro com uma pedra, ou com seu punho, e ele não morrer, mas se mantiver na cama,
19 »If the injured man is able to stand up again and walk around outside with a cane, the one who hit him must not be punished. He must pay the injured man for the loss of his time and for all his medical expenses.
19 se novamente levantar-se, e caminhar sobre o seu cajado, então aquele que o feriu será absolvido; somente lhe pagará pela perda do seu tempo e o fará curar totalmente.
20 »If a slave owner takes a stick and beats his slave, whether male or female, and the slave dies on the spot, the owner is to be punished.
20 E se um homem ferir seu servo, ou sua serva, com um cajado, e ele morrer debaixo da sua mão, ele certamente será punido.
21 »If the slave lives a few days after the beating, you are not to be punished. After all, you have already lost the services of that slave who was your property.
21 Todavia, se sobreviver por um dia ou dois, não será punido, porque é seu dinheiro.
22 »When a pregnant woman suffers a miscarriage as the result of an injury caused by someone who is fighting, if she is not badly hurt, the one who injured her must pay whatever fine her husband demands and the judges approve.
22 Se homens lutarem e ferirem uma mulher grávida, assim que seu fruto se apartar dela, e não havendo outro dano, certamente será punido, conforme o que impuser o marido da mulher; e ele pagará segundo o que os juízes determinarem.
23 »The payment will be for life if she is seriously injured,
23 E se houver qualquer dano, então darás vida por vida,
24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
24 olho por olho, dente por dente, mão por mão, pé por pé,
25 »burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.
25 queimadura por queimadura, ferida por ferida, golpe por golpe.
26 »If a man strikes the eye of his male or female slave, and destroys it, he shall let him go free because of his eye.
26 E se um homem ferir o olho de seu servo, ou o olho de sua serva, e o danificar, deixá-lo-á sair livre por causa do seu olho.
27 »If he knocks out a tooth of his male or female slave, he shall let him go free because of his tooth.
27 E se ele atingir o dente de seu servo, ou o dente de sua serva, deixá-lo-á sair livre por causa do seu dente.
28 »If an ox gores a man or a woman to death, the ox shall surely be stoned and its flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall go unpunished.
28 Se um boi escornear um homem ou uma mulher, de modo que morra, então o boi certamente será apedrejado, e sua carne não se comerá; mas o dono do boi será absolvido.
29 »If an ox was previously in the habit of goring and its owner has been warned, yet he does not confine it and it kills a man or a woman, the ox shall be stoned and its owner also shall be put to death.
29 Mas se o boi era acostumado em tempos passados a empurrar com o seu chifre, tendo sido testemunhado ao seu dono, e não o guardou, mas ele matou um homem ou uma mulher, o boi será apedrejado, e seu dono também morrerá.
30 »If a ransom is demanded of him, then he shall give for the redemption of his life whatever is demanded of him.
30 Se lhe for posto uma quantia de dinheiro, então ele dará pelo resgate de sua vida o que lhe for posto.
31 »Whether it gores a son or a daughter, it shall be done to him according to the same rule.
31 Se ele escorneou um filho, ou escorneou uma filha, de acordo com este juízo lhe será feito.
32 »If the ox gores a male or female slave, the owner shall give his or her master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
32 Se o boi escornear um servo ou uma serva, dará ao seu senhor trinta shekels de prata, e o boi será apedrejado.
33 »If a man opens a pit, or digs a pit and does not cover it over, and an ox or a donkey falls into it,
33 E se um homem abrir um buraco, ou se um homem cavar um buraco, e não o cobrir, e nele cair um boi ou um jumento,
34 the owner of the pit shall make restitution. He will give money to its owner, and the dead animal shall become his.
34 o dono do buraco pagará por ele, e dará dinheiro ao dono deles. E o animal morto será seu.
35 »If one mans ox hurts anothers so that it dies, then they shall sell the live ox and divide its price equally. They should divide the dead ox.
35 E se o boi de um homem ferir o de outro, e ele morrer, então venderão o boi vivo e dividirão o seu dinheiro, e também dividirão o boi morto.
36 »If it is known that the ox was previously in the habit of goring, yet its owner has not confined it, he shall surely pay ox for ox, and the dead animal shall become his.«
36 Ou se for conhecido que o boi escorneava no passado, e seu dono não o guardou, certamente pagará boi por boi, e o morto será seu.
