1 Jehovah said: »I will not withdraw punishment for the many transgressions of Moab. He burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.
1 Assim diz o ­SENHOR: Por três transgressões de Moabe, e por quatro, não retirarei o seu castigo, pois ele queimou os ossos do rei de Edom, até os reduzir a cal.
2 »I will send a fire to Moab, and it will devour the palaces of Kerioth. Moab will die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet!
2 Mas eu enviarei fogo a Moabe, e consumirá os palácios de Queriote; e Moabe morrerá com tumulto, com gritos, e com o som de trombeta;
3 »I will destroy her ruler and government officials along with him,« said Jehovah.
3 e exterminarei o juiz do meio dele, e com ele matarei todos os seus príncipes, diz o ­SENHOR.
4 Jehovah continued: »I will not withdraw punishment for the many transgressions of Judah. For they have rejected the Law of Jehovah! They have not kept his statutes. Their lies have led them astray, those after which their fathers walked.
4 Assim diz o ­SENHOR: Por três transgressões de Judá, e por quatro, não retirarei o seu castigo, pois eles desprezaram a lei do ­SENHOR, e não guardaram os seus mandamentos; e suas mentiras os enganaram, após as quais andaram seus pais;
5 »I will send fire upon Judah and it will devour the fortified buildings of Jerusalem.«
5 mas eu enviarei fogo a Judá, e ele consumirá os palácios de Jerusalém.
6 Jehovah said: »I will not withdraw punishment for three sins of Israel, even for four the many transgressions of Israel! They sold the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes.
6 Assim diz o ­SENHOR: Por três transgressões de Israel, e por quatro, não retirarei o seu castigo, pois eles venderam o justo por prata, e o pobre por um par de sandálias;
7 »They pant after the dust of the earth on the head of lowly meek persons. They reject the humble! A man and his father have sexual relations with the same maiden, to profane my holy name.
7 suspirando pelo pó da terra, sobre a cabeça dos pobres, pervertem o caminho dos mansos; e um homem e seu pai entram à mesma moça, para profanarem o meu santo nome;
8 »They lie down beside every altar on clothes taken from indebtedness. In the house of their God they drink the wine they have confiscated.
8 e eles deitaram-se sobre roupas colocadas para penhorar por todo altar, e bebem o vinho dos condenados na casa de seu deus.
9 »Before them I destroyed the Amorite. His height was like the height of the cedars. He was strong like the oaks. Yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath!
9 Todavia eu destruí diante deles o amorreu, cuja altura era como a altura dos cedros, e era tão forte quanto os carvalhos; ainda assim destruí seu fruto por cima, e suas raízes por baixo.
10 »I brought you out of the land of Egypt. I led you forty years in the desert wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.
10 Também vos fiz subir da terra do Egito, e vos guiei através do deserto por quarenta anos, para que possuísseis a terra do amorreu.
11 »I ordained some of your sons for prophets and some of your young men for Nazirites dedicated ones. Is this true, O you children of Israel?« : said Jehovah.
11 E levantei profetas dentre vossos filhos e dentre os vossos jovens nazireus. Não é isto assim, ó filhos de Israel? Diz o ­SENHOR.
12 »But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink, and commanded the prophets, saying: ‘Do Not Prophesy!’
12 Mas vós destes aos nazireus vinho a beber, e ordenaste aos profetas, dizendo: não profetizareis.
13 »Consider this, I will weigh you down just as a wagon is weighed down when it is full of grain.
13 Eis que vos apertarei no vosso lugar, como se aperta uma carruagem cheia de feixes.
14 »Flight will perish from the swift! The strong will not increase his strength. The mighty will not save himself.
14 Portanto, o ágil perecerá em seu voo, nem o forte corroborará a sua força, nem o valente salvará a sua vida;
15 »The archer will not stand. The swift of foot will not save himself. The horseman will not deliver himself.
15 e não ficará em pé o que maneja o arco, e aquele que é ligeiro de pés não se livrará, nem tampouco se livrará o que vai montado a cavalo.
16 »The courageous among the mighty will run away naked in that day,« said Jehovah.
16 E o mais corajoso entre os valentes fugirá nu naquele dia, diz o ­SENHOR.
