1 Once again David called together the best soldiers in Israel, a total of thirty thousand men.
1 Davi reuniu novamente todos os melhores guerreiros de Israel, trinta mil ao todo.
2 He led them to Baalah in Judah, in order to bring the Ark of the Covenant bearing the name of Jehovah of Hosts, whose throne is above the winged creatures.
2 Partiu com eles para Baalá de Judá a fim de buscar a arca de Deus, junto à qual era invocado o nome do S enhor dos Exércitos, que está entronizado entre os querubins.
3 They took it from Abinadabs home on the hill and placed it on a new cart. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were guiding the cart.
3 Puseram a arca de Deus num carro novo e a levaram da casa de Abinadabe, que ficava num monte. Saindo da casa, Uzá e Aiô, filhos de Abinadabe, a carroça nova
4 Ahio walked in front.
4 que transportava a arca de Deus. Aiô estava à frente da arca.
5 David and all the Israelites danced and sang with all their might to honor Jehovah. They played harps, lyres, drums, tambourines, rattles, and cymbals.
5 Davi e todo o povo de Israel celebravam diante do S enhor , entoando cânticos e tocando todo tipo de instrumentos musicais: liras, harpas, tamborins, chocalhos e címbalos.
6 As they came to the threshing place of Nacon, the oxen stumbled, and Uzzah reached out and took hold of the Ark of the Covenant.
6 Quando chegaram à eira de Nacom, os bois tropeçaram, e Uzá estendeu a mão e segurou a arca.
7 At once Jehovah God became angry with Uzzah. He killed him because of his irreverence. Uzzah died there beside the Ark of the Covenant.
7 A ira do S enhor se acendeu contra Uzá, e Deus o feriu por causa disso. E ele morreu ali mesmo, ao lado da arca de Deus.
8 Because of that the place has been called Perez Uzzah breakthrough of Uzzah ever since. David was furious because Jehovah punished Uzzah in anger.
8 Davi ficou indignado porque a ira do S enhor irrompeu contra Uzá e chamou aquele lugar de Perez-Uzá, como é conhecido até hoje.
9 Then David was afraid of Jehovah and said: »How can I take the Ark of the Covenant with me now?«
9 Davi teve medo do S enhor e perguntou: “Como poderei levar a arca do S enhor ?”.
10 So he decided not to take it with him to Jerusalem. Instead, he turned off the road and took it to the house of Obed Edom, a native of the city of Gath.
10 Então resolveu não transferir mais a arca do S enhor para a Cidade de Davi. Em vez disso, levou-a para a casa de Obede-Edom, na cidade de Gate.
11 The Ark of Jehovah stayed at the home of Obed Edom from Gath for three months. Jehovah blessed Obed Edom and his whole family.
11 A arca do S enhor ficou na casa de Obede-Edom, em Gate, por três meses, e o S enhor abençoou Obede-Edom e toda a sua família.
12 King David was told: »Jehovah has blessed Obed Edoms home and everything he owns because of the Ark of God.« Then David joyfully went to get the Ark of God from Obed Edoms house and bring it to the City of David.
12 Disseram ao rei Davi: “O S enhor tem abençoado a família de Obede-Edom e tudo que ele possui por causa da arca de Deus”. Então Davi foi até lá e, com grande festa, levou a arca de Deus da casa de Obede-Edom para a Cidade de Davi.
13 When those who carried the Ark of Jehovah walked six steps, David sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf.
13 Quando os homens que carregavam a arca do S enhor davam seis passos, Davi sacrificava um boi e um novilho gordo.
14 Wearing a linen ephod, David danced in Jehovahs presence with all his might.
14 Davi usava um colete sacerdotal de linho e dançava diante do S enhor com todas as suas forças.
15 He and the entire nation of Israel brought the Ark of Jehovah with shouts of joy and the sounding of rams horns.
15 Assim, Davi e todo o povo de Israel levaram a arca do S enhor com gritos de alegria e ao som de trombetas.
16 When the Ark of Jehovah came to the City of David, Sauls daughter Michal looked out of a window and saw King David leaping and dancing in Jehovahs presence. She despised him in her heart.
16 Enquanto a arca do S enhor entrava na Cidade de Davi, Mical, filha de Saul, olhava pela janela. Quando viu o rei Davi saltando e dançando diante do S enhor , encheu-se de desprezo por ele.
17 The men carrying the Ark set it in its place inside the tent David put up for it. David sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings in Jehovahs presence.
17 Trouxeram a arca do S enhor e a colocaram em seu lugar, dentro de uma tenda especial que Davi tinha preparado para ela. E Davi ofereceu ao S enhor holocaustos e ofertas de paz.
18 David finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and the fellowship offerings. Then he blessed the people in the name of Jehovah of Hosts.
18 Depois que terminou de oferecer os sacrifícios, abençoou o povo em nome do S enhor dos Exércitos.
19 He also distributed to all the people, to the whole crowd of Israelites, men and women, one loaf of bread, one date cake, and one raisin cake. Then all the people went home.
19 Para cada homem e mulher israelita na multidão, ele deu um pão, um bolo de tâmaras e um bolo de passas. Então todos voltaram para casa.
20 David went home so he could ask Jehovah to bless his family. But Sauls daughter Michal went out and started yelling at him: »You were really great today!« She said. »You acted like a dirty old man. You danced around half-naked in front of your servants slave-girls.«
20 Quando Davi voltou para casa a fim de abençoar sua família, Mical, filha de Saul, saiu ao encontro dele e disse: “Como o rei de Israel se mostrou digno de honra hoje, exibindo-se sem qualquer vergonha diante das servas, como um homem vulgar!”.
21 David answered: »I danced to honor Jehovah. He chose me to be king instead of your father and his family. He made me the leader of his people Israel. I will continue to dance and honor Jehovah.
21 Davi respondeu a Mical: “Eu dançava diante do S enhor , que me escolheu em lugar de seu pai e de toda a sua família! Ele me nomeou líder de Israel, o povo do S enhor , por isso continuarei a celebrar diante do S enhor .
22 »I will disgrace myself even more. You may think I am nothing, but those women think highly of me!«
22 Estou disposto a me tornar ainda mais desprezível e até mesmo a ser humilhado aos meus próprios olhos! Mas as servas que você mencionou certamente me considerarão digno de honra”.
23 Michal, Sauls daughter, never had any children.
23 E Mical, filha de Saul, não teve filhos até o final de sua vida.
