2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,

3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.

5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Ta catyí tucu chi:
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Soco nyoho cuví ndo ñáyɨvɨ nacachi̱ vaha Nyoo. Ta tari tata sutu cuví ndo tyi sacuví ndo tyiño nuu Nyoo, ra nyacá ñaha. Ta cuví tucu ndo noo ñáyɨvɨ ii nuu Nyoo. Vatyi cuví ndo ñáyɨvɨ chi maa ra, tacuhva vatyi cahan ndo tuhun cha vaha cha sacuví ra. Vatyi maa ra natava̱ ra chi ndo nu ñaa iñi ta vityin cuahan ndo nu ndichin nu tyaquɨ.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Ta quɨvɨ ca cuan, cuvi̱ ndo ñáyɨvɨ cha ñima ri tuhun. Soco vityin ñáyɨvɨ chi Nyoo cuví ndo. Ta quɨvɨ cuan yori cundahvi cuñi̱ nyehe chi ndo, soco vityin Nyoo cundahvi cuñí ra nyehé ra chi ndo.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.

11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Sa̱ha ndo cuenda cuhva iyó ndo mahñu ñu cha ña ñohó nuu Nyoo. Vatyi vasɨ cahán ña vaha ñu sɨquɨ ndo, ta catyí ñu vatyi ña vaha ndo, soco nyehé ñu cha vaha cha sacuví ndo ta cusacahnu ñu chi Nyoo nachaa chi quɨvɨ cha cuquichi nyehe ra cha sacuví yo.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.

14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Vatyi Nyoo cuñí ra vatyi chihin cha vaha nyacuví ndo ta sandɨhɨ ñu tondo cha cuví yuhu ñu, ñu cahán cha ña ndicha vatyi ña chitó ñu tuhun cahán ñu.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Co̱o ndo tari cha yori nyacá ñaha chi ndo, soco ñima cha cuenda cuan ta cusacuvi tucu ndo cha ña vaha. Soco sa̱cuvi ndo tyiño nuu Nyoo.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Sa̱ha ndo ñáyɨvɨ chi tandɨhɨ ñáyɨvɨ. Cu̱ñi ndo chi ñu yɨhɨ cuenda Nyoo. Sa̱ha ndo cuenda vatyi Nyoo nyehé ra tandɨhɨ cha sacuví ndo. Sa̱ha ndo ñáyɨvɨ chi ra nyacá ñaha.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Nyoho cha cuví ndo musu, cu̱hva ndo cha cunyaca ñaha chitoho ndo chi ndo, ta qui̱chaha ndo chi ra, vasɨ xaan ra o vasɨ vaha ra.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Vatyi tatu cunyeé yo tɨndoho cha sanyehé ñáyɨvɨ chi yo cha cuenda cha sacuví yo cha vaha nuu Nyoo, yucuan cuví cha chaá nuu Nyoo.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Soco tatu sacuví ndo noo cha ña vaha ta tachí tuñi ñu chi ndo, ñahri maa tuhun cha cunyeé ndo tɨndoho cha nyehé ndo cha cuenda cuan. Soco tatu nyehé ndo tɨndoho cha cuenda cha sacuví ndo cha vaha, ta cunyeé ndo chihin cha cama iñi ndo, ican ihya cuví cha vaha nuu Nyoo.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Vatyi nacana̱ Nyoo chi yo vatyi coo yo tyehe caa. Vatyi tyicuan caa tucu nyehe̱ ra Cristo tɨndoho cha cuenda maa yo, na cutuhva yo ta quehen yo cha caá ra.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Maa ra ni noo cuatyi ña sacuvi̱ ra. Ni noo chaha ña sandavi̱ ñaha ra chi ninoo ñáyɨvɨ.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Cuhva cha cahán ñu chi ra, ña nacahán xaan ra. Cuhva cha nyehé ra tɨndoho, ña tyanahá ra chi ñu. Soco natyaa̱ ra chi ra ndaha Nyoo, vatyi Nyoo tuhvá ra sacutuñi ra chi ñayɨvɨ chihin cha ndaa ta chihin cha ndicha.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Vatyi chata maa ra Cristo nicoso ndɨɨ maa cuatyi tandɨhɨ yo cuhva cha tacaá ra nu cruzi cuan. Tyicuan caa cuvi̱ tacuhva vatyi ma sacuvi ca yo cuatyi, ta coo yo noo ñayɨvɨ̱ vaha. Vatyi cha cuenda cha ñicuehe̱ maa ra, yoó nduvaha̱ yo.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Vatyi quɨvɨ cuan chica̱ noo ndo tari mbee cha cuanaá. Soco vityin nacuhva̱ cuenda ndo chi ndo chi ra Cristo, ra cuví pastor cha sahá cuenda añima yo.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
