1 In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years. Then he turned and rebelled against him.
1 Durante o reinado de Jeoaquim, Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, invadiu o país, e Jeoaquim tornou-se seu vassalo por três anos. Então ele voltou atrás e rebelou-se contra Nabucodonosor.
2 And the LORD sent against him troops of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and troops of the Moabites, and troops of the Ammonites. And He sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD which He spoke by His servants the prophets.
2 O Senhor enviou contra ele tropas babilônicas, aramaicas, moabitas e amonitas, para destruir Judá, de acordo com a palavra do Senhor proclamada por seus servos, os profetas.
3 Surely at the commandment of the Lord [this] came on Judah, to remove [them] out of His sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did;
3 Com certeza isto aconteceu a Judá conforme a ordem do Senhor, a fim de removê-los da sua presença, por causa de todos os pecados que Manassés cometeu,
4 and also for the innocent blood which he shed, for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, which the LORD would not pardon.
4 inclusive o derramamento de sangue inocente. Pois ele havia enchido Jerusalém de sangue inocente, e o Senhor não o quis perdoar.
5 And the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, [are] they not written in the Book of the Matters of the Days of the Kings of Judah?
5 Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Jeoaquim e todas as suas realizações, estão escritos no livro dos registros históricos dos reis de Judá.
6 And Jehoiakim slept with his fathers. And Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.
6 Jeoaquim descansou com seus antepassados. Seu filho Joaquim foi o seu sucessor.
7 And the king of Egypt did not come again out of his land any more. For the king of Babylon had taken from the river of Egypt to the river Euphrates all that [belonged to] the king of Egypt.
7 O rei do Egito não mais se atreveu a sair com seu exército de suas próprias fronteiras, pois o rei da Babilônia havia ocupado todo o território entre o ribeiro do Egito e o rio Eufrates, que antes pertencera ao Egito.
8 Jehoiachin [was] eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother's name [was] Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
8 Joaquim tinha dezoito anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou três meses em Jerusalém. O nome da sua mãe era Neusta, filha de Elnatã; ela era de Jerusalém.
9 And he did the evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done.
9 Ele fez o que o Senhor reprova, tal como seu pai.
10 At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
10 Naquela ocasião os oficiais de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, avançaram até Jerusalém e a cercaram,
11 And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants besieged it.
11 Enquanto seus oficiais a cercavam o próprio Nabucodonosor veio à cidade.
12 And Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he and his mother, and his servants, and his leaders, and his eunuchs. And the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.
12 Então Joaquim, rei de Judá, sua mãe, seus conselheiros, seus nobres e seus oficiais se entregaram; todos se renderam a ele. No oitavo ano do reinado do rei da Babilônia, ele levou Joaquim como prisioneiro.
13 And [he] carried out from there all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said.
13 Conforme o Senhor tinha declarado, Nabucodonosor retirou todos os tesouros do templo do Senhor e do palácio real, quebrando todos os utensílios de ouro que Salomão, rei de Israel, fizera para o templo do Senhor.
14 And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the leaders, and all the mighty men of war, ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths. None remained except the poorest sort of the people of the land.
14 Levou para o exílio toda Jerusalém: todos os líderes e os homens de combate, todos os artesãos e artífices. Era um total de dez mil pessoas; só ficaram os mais pobres.
15 And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his eunuchs. And the mighty of the land he carried into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
15 Nabucodonosor levou prisioneiro Joaquim para a Babilônia. Também levou de Jerusalém para a Babilônia a mãe do rei, as mulheres do rei e os oficiais do rei e os líderes do país.
16 And the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon all the men of might, seven thousand of them, and a thousand craftsmen and smiths, all who were strong and able for war.
16 O rei da Babilônia também deportou para a Babilônia toda a força de sete mil homens de combate, homens fortes e preparados para a guerra, e mil artífices e artesãos.
17 And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah, his father's brother, king in his place. And he changed his name to Zedekiah.
17 Fez Matanias, tio de Joaquim, reinar em seu lugar, e mudou seu nome para Zedequias.
18 Zedekiah [was] twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name [was] Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
18 Zedequias tinha vinte e um anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou onze anos em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Hamutal, filha de Jeremias; ela era de Libna.
19 And he did the evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
19 Ele fez o que o Senhor reprova, tal como fizera Jeoaquim.
20 For it was through the anger of the LORD that Zedekiah happened to rebel against the king of Babylon in Jerusalem and in Judah, until [God] had put them out of His presence.
20 Por causa da ira do Senhor tudo isso aconteceu a Jerusalém e a Judá; por fim ele os lançou para longe da sua presença. Ora, Zedequias rebelou-se contra o rei da Babilônia.
