2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;

3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;

4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.

7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.

9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 Tyin tuhun Nyoo catyí tsi tyehen:
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 Ja̱ndɨhɨ ndo tsa javahá ndo tsa ña vaha, tan ja̱vaha ndo tsa vaha.
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 Tyin Jutu Mañi yo jahá cuenda ra tsi nyɨvɨ vaha.
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 Ndi intuhun maa nyɨvɨ tan ña cuvi javaha ñi tsa ña vaha tsihin ndo tatun nyooho tan maa ñi tsa vaha nanducú ndo.
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Cu̱sɨɨ iñi ndo vasu ndi maa nyehé ndo tundoho tsa cuenda tsa javahá ndo tsa vaha. Tan ña na̱yuhvi ndo tun jayuhvi nyɨvɨ tsi ndo.
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 Ja̱cahnu ndo tsi ra Cristo tsitsi añima ndo. Cu̱hva ndo tsa cundaca ñaha ra tsi ndo. Ca̱ca iñi ndo tuhun Nyoo tyin tatun ndaca tuhun nyɨvɨ tsi ndo nacuenda tsinú iñi ndo tsi ra, cuvi cuhva cuenda ndo tsi ñi. Tan ja̱vaha ndo can tsihin tsa ña cahnu jahá ndo tsi ndo tan ja̱ha ndo tsa ñayɨvɨ tsi ñi.
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.

16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 Vaha ca nyehé yo tundoho tsa cuenda tsa javahá yo tsa vaha tatun Nyoo cuñí, tan ñavin ca tsa nyehe yo tundoho cuenda tsa ña vaha.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Tyin ra Cristo nyehe̱ ra tundoho tan tsihi̱ ra iin tsaha ñi tsa cuenda cuatyin tandɨhɨ yo. Ra vaha cuví ra maa tyin nyehe̱ ra tundoho tan tsihi̱ ra tsa cuenda yo tsa cuví yo nyɨvɨ caquiñi, tyin tacan tan cuvi tsaa yo nu nyaá Nyoo. Tsihi̱ cuñu ñuhu ra, maa tyin nandoto̱ nyico ra tsihin Tatyi Ii ra.
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.

19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,

Maa tyin ña cuaha ñi cacu̱ quɨvɨ cuu̱n savi cahnu tsa tsahñi̱ ndutya ñuhu tsi ñi. Una taahan ñi ñi cacu̱ tsitsi yutun ndoo tyin nandaa̱ yutun ndoo can nu ndutya ñuhu.
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.

21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 Tan nandaa̱ ra nda gloria, tan nyaá ra xiin cuaha Nyoo vityin. Ndacá ñaha ra tsi ángel tan tandɨhɨ tatyi ña vaha tsa ndacá ñaha tsi nyɨvɨ.
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
