1 Yango mɛna, lɛ kabu esɔ na malondo masɔ maaɓe, nzitako na imengyela na iwɔlɛ nwɛbi na ɓoɓe.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Ɓokozingye ɓana ɓautami iɓotama maɔku matemali na sɔkɔtɔ, na ɓɛ́ɛ zinga maɔku ma iloɓa, phɔ na mango, wamokola phɔ ya lobiko.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 Phɔ wameka ndengye'ye eli Nkolo, wamɔwɛnɛ molaa.
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Susana ooli yo, iɓanga sa ɓomɔɔ, saavaka ɓato kasi saaɔlɔmɔ, simbi na ɓaa na motiya oka Ŋwaphongo.

5 Ɓɛ̀ɛ mampenza, ndokolo mabanga ma ɓomɔɔ ma Ŋwaphongo, ominyɔsa phɔ ya itonga ingambi sa Ɓolɔɓɔ, phɔ ya ɓonganga ɓosantu, phɔ ya iambya mambeka ma ɓolɔɓɔ oka Ŋwaphongo, maamosepelisa na nzela ya Yesu Klisto.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Yango mɛna, o buku pha Ŋwaphongo tozwe oɓokye: «Kyeka, natɛyɛ ntɔndɔ yɔnɔyɔ ya moloo eya eɔlɔnga na eya motiya o Siyona, emba owamiabya mi yango etazwe sɔɔ.»
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Yango mɛna, ngambo eli phɔ ya ɓɛ̀ɛ ɓaanosi. Kasi phɔ ɓato ɓate ɓali na ianola, eli nde ikonzi savaka ɓatongyi ɓa mangambi sibuto ntɔndɔ ya moloo,
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 emba simbi na kula ɓaa ikonzi siɓakyitinya ɓato na ikonzi siambya sɔɔ. Ɓazume mi sango phɔ teɓaanole Iloɓa. Emba phɔ ya ɓɛ̀ɛ wamekamaka nde ɓaɓona.
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Kasi ɓɛ̀ɛ, oli iɓota saɔlɔ ɓɛ, ɓosoo pha ɓanganga ɓa mokonzi, mokyisi mosantu, ɓato ɓaakpa Ŋwaphongo, phɔ ya oɓokye oimole bitoma binɛnɛ ba owaeɓanga oɓokye omane o enzɔmbi, otɔkɔlɔ o saa yɛ elaa.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Ɓɛ̀ɛ ɓateɓaikaka ɓa phanza ɓato ɓɛ, uŋwaŋwa eye obuto ɓato ɓa Ŋwaphongo. Ɓɛ̀ɛ ɓateɓaikaka oka ɓɛ́ɛ ngɔngɔ, kasi uŋwaŋwa eye ɓaeyokyesi ngɔngɔ.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Ɓande ɓaa lozingo, naelenza ɓɛ̀ɛ ɓaakyɛ kaa ɓo kaa na ɓabutu o nkyisi ya ɓasuu, oɓokye olɛ maphowa maaɓe ma nzoto, mango maaŋwane eɓasi na Mokali.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Ɓa na moɓesi molaa onte ya ɓapakano, phɔ na ɓo ɓaekatesi ɓɔɔlɛ oɓokye olii ɓato ɓaɓe, waamowɛnɛ ɓɛ̀ɛ bitoma ɓa ɓɛ́ɛ bilaa, ɓakumole Ŋwaphongo mokɔlɔ ŋwaa moya yo.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Phɔ ya Nkolo, omiuya oɓoo pha makonzi masɔ ma mokyisi. Eɓe mokonzi oomunɛnɛ okolekye ɓaayokɔ,

14 eɓe ɓakambi, ɓaatome yo phɔ ya iphɛ ɓato ɓakyele ɓoɓe etumbu naa phɔ ya isamba ɓaakyele ɓolaa.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Phɔ phowa ya Ŋwaphongo eli ɓaaɓona oɓokye ɓaakyele ɓolaa ɓakangye nɔkɔ ya bibubusi ɓaateɓaeɓe ekpele.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Ɓa ya masɔmi. Saamba nde miɓomba o ɓosɔmi pha bɛɛ phɔ ya ikyelaka ɓoɓɛ. Kasi kyela ɓo ya ɓasali ɓa Ŋwaphongo.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Kumola ɓato ɓasɔ, zinga ɓɛbi nawɛ ɓaanosi, kaya Ŋwaphongo, kumola mokonzi.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Ɓɛ́ɛ ɓasali bakyele o mangambi, omiuya oka ɓankolo ɓa ɓɛ̀ɛ na mokaya munsɔ, yango saɓaa nde oka ɓaali ɓato ɓalaa na ɓaa ɓose, kasi eɓe na oka ɓaa bikyi.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Phɔ mɛna eli ngɔlu oɓokye oititale, phɔ ya ikumola Ŋwaphongo, o minyɔkɔ mienyɔkɔlɔ nde na pha.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Ngambo ye eya mozwa wɛ ɓo oititasi waewande ɓɛ́ɛ ɓo okesi ɓoɓe? Kasi ɓo okyesi ɓolaa, ɓambe kula enyɔkɔlɔ, ombi ititala na iuya mɔɔ, mɛna eli ngɔlu o miyo Ŋwaphongo.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Phɔ ɓaeɓanga nde phɔ ya ɓomɔ, phɔ na Klisto yo mampenza anyɔkɔmɔ phɔ ya ɓɛ̀ɛ, aika eteya nzela phɔ ya oɓokye oɓengye matambe mɛ.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Yo otoikakyela isumu, na o munɔkɔ nwɛ tewaika tɔkɔlɔ ɓɔɔlɛ.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Iyo owa tola ɓɛ, kasi taika buya eto, o munyɔkɔ nwɛ, taika kanela moto, kasi amiambyaka nde oka okotene ɓolombe na ɓosembo.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Yo oowa, mi nzoto yɛ mampenza, anyanyaka masumu ma ɓanga o ekulusu, phɔ ya oɓokye, towee na masumu, tombe bika phɔ ya ɓosembo. Iyo owaebikya na maphota mɛ.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Phɔ ɓɛ̀ɛ waɓaka ndokolo mampate maabunga, kasi uŋwaŋwa eye obutolesi mɔɔkɔsi na mokyɛngyɛsi wa mikali ma ɓɛ̀ɛ.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
