1 Judge not, that you be not judged;
1 Não julgueis, para que não sejais julgados.
2 for as you judge, you shall be judged; and the measure which you give, the same you shall receive.
2 Porque com o juízo com que julgardes sereis julgados; e com a medida que medirdes vós sereis medidos.
3 And why do you observe the mote in your brother's eye, but you are insensible of the splinter in your own eye?
3 E por que tu observas o cisco que está no olho do teu irmão, e não percebes a viga que está no teu próprio olho?
4 Or how dare you say to your brother, let me take the mote out of your eye; when lo! you have a splinter in your own?
4 Ou como dirás a teu irmão: Deixa-me tirar o cisco do teu olho, e, eis uma viga no teu próprio olho?
5 Hypocrite, first take the splinter out of your own eye; then you will see clearly to take the mote out of your brother's eye.
5 Hipócrita, tira primeiro a viga do teu olho, e então verás com clareza para tirar o cisco do olho do teu irmão.
6 Give not things holy to dogs, and cast not your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under foot, and turn upon you, and tear you apart.
6 Não deis o que é santo aos cães, nem lanceis aos porcos as vossas pérolas, para que não suceda que as pisem com os seus pés, e voltando-se novamente, vos despedacem.
7 Ask, and you shall obtain; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.
7 Pedi, e dar-se-vos-á; buscai e encontrareis; batei e abrir-se-vos-á.
8 For whosoever asks, obtains; whosoever seeks, finds; and to every one who knocks, the door shall be opened.
8 Porque aquele que pede, recebe; e o que busca, encontra; e ao que bate, abrir-se-lhe-á.
9 Who of you men would give his son a stone, when he asks bread;
9 Ou qual dentre vós é o homem que, se seu filho lhe pedir pão, lhe dará uma pedra?
10 or a serpent, when he asks a fish?
10 Ou se lhe pedir peixe, lhe dará uma serpente?
11 If you then, though evil, can give good things to your children, how much more will your Father, who is in heaven, give good things to them that ask him?
11 Então se vós, sendo maus, sabeis dar boas dádivas aos vossos filhos, quanto mais vosso Pai, que está no céu, dará coisas boas aos que lhe pedirem?
12 Whatever you would that others do to you, do you the same to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
12 Portanto, todas as coisas que vós quereis que vos façam os homens, fazei-o também a eles; pois esta é a lei e os profetas.
13 Enter in through the strait gate; for wide is the gate of perdition, broad is its way leading thither; and many are they who enter by it.
13 Entrai pela porta estreita, porque larga é a porta, e amplo é o caminho que conduz à destruição, e muitos são os que entram por ela.
14 But how strait is the gate of life; how narrow the way leading thither; and how few are they who find it!
14 Porque estreita é a porta e apertado é o caminho que conduz à vida, e são poucos os que a encontram.
15 Beware of false teachers, who come to you in the garb of sheep, while inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
15 Cuidado com os falsos profetas, que vêm a vós vestidos como ovelhas, mas, interiormente, são lobos devoradores.
16 By their fruits you shall discover them. Are grapes gathered from thorns; or figs from thistles?
16 Por seus frutos os conhecereis. Homens colhem uvas dos espinheiros, ou figos dos abrolhos?
17 Every good tree yields good fruit, and every evil tree evil fruit.
17 Assim, toda a árvore boa produz bons frutos, mas a árvore corrompida produz frutos ruins.
18 A good tree can not yield evil fruit, nor an evil tree good fruit.
18 Não pode a árvore boa dar frutos ruins, nem pode a árvore corrompida dar frutos bons.
19 Every tree which yields not good fruit, is cut down, and turned into fuel.
19 Toda a árvore que não produz frutos bons corta-se e lança-se no fogo.
20 Wherefore, by their fruits you shall discover them.
20 Portanto, pelos seus frutos os conhecereis.
21 Not every one who says to me, Master, Master, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father, who is in heaven.
21 Nem todo o que me diz: Senhor, Senhor, entrará no reino do céu, mas aquele que faz a vontade de meu Pai que está no céu.
22 Many will say to me on that day, Master, Master, have we not taught in thy name, and in thy name performed many miracles?
22 Muitos me dirão naquele dia: Senhor, Senhor, não profetizamos nós em teu nome? E em teu nome não expulsamos os demônios? E em teu nome não fizemos muitas maravilhas?
23 To whom I will declare, I never acknowledged you. Depart from me, you who practice iniquity.
23 E então lhes declararei: Eu nunca vos conheci; apartai-vos de mim, vós trabalhadores da iniquidade.
24 Therefore, whosoever hears these my precepts, and does them, I will compare to a prudent man, who built his house upon the rock.
24 Todo aquele, pois, que escuta estas minhas palavras e as pratica, assemelhá-lo-ei ao homem sábio, que construiu a sua casa sobre a rocha.
25 For although the rain descended, and the rivers overflowed, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, it fell not, because it was founded upon the rock.
25 E desceu a chuva, vieram as inundações, e sopraram os ventos e golpearam contra aquela casa, mas ela não caiu, porque estava fundada sobre a rocha.
26 But whosoever hears these my precepts, and does them not, shall be compared to a simpleton, who built his house upon the sand.
26 E aquele que ouve estas minhas palavras e não as pratica, compará-lo-ei ao homem insensato, que edificou a sua casa sobre a areia.
27 For when the rain descended, and the rivers overflowed, and the winds blew, and dashed against that house, it fell, and great was its ruin.
27 E desceu a chuva, vieram as inundações, e sopraram os ventos e golpearam contra aquela casa, e ela caiu, e grande foi a sua queda.
28 When Jesus had ended this discourse, the people were struck with awe at his manner of teaching;
28 E aconteceu que, concluindo Jesus este discurso, as pessoas se admiraram da sua doutrina.
29 for he taught as one who had authority, and not as the Scribes.
29 Pois ele os ensinava como quem tinha autoridade, e não como os escribas.
