1 Woe to her that is rebellious and polluted, to the oppressing city!
1 Ai da cidade rebelde, impura e opressora!
2 She hearkened not to any voice; she accepted no correction; in the Lord she did not trust; to her God she drew not near.
2 Não ouve a ninguém, e não aceita correção. Não confia no Senhor, não se aproxima do seu Deus.
3 Her princes in her midst are roaring lions: her judges are evening wolves, they leave not a bone for the morning.
3 No meio dela os seus líderes são leões que rugem. Seus juízes são lobos vespertinos que nada deixam para a manhã seguinte.
4 Her prophets are thoughtless men of treachery: her priests have profaned the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.
4 Seus profetas são irresponsáveis, são homens traiçoeiros. Seus sacerdotes profanam o santuário e fazem violência à lei.
5 The just Lord is in her midst, he will not do wrong; morning after morning doth he bring his justice to the light of day, it never faileth; but the unjust knoweth no shame.
5 No meio dela está o Senhor, que é justo e jamais comete injustiça. A cada manhã ele ministra a sua justiça, e a cada novo dia ele não falha, mas o injusto não se envergonha da sua injustiça.
6 I have cut off nations; destroyed are their battlements; I have laid in ruins their streets, so that none passeth through; their cities are wasted, without a man, without an inhabitant.
6 "Eliminei nações; suas fortificações estão devastadas. Deixei desertas as suas ruas. Suas cidades estão destruídas; ninguém foi deixado; ninguém!
7 I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt accept correction; so that her dwelling should not be cut off, all that I had decreed to bring over her; but they rose up early, they acted corruptly in all their doings.
7 Eu disse à cidade: Com certeza você me temerá e aceitará correção! Pois, então, a sua habitação não seria eliminada, nem cairiam sobre ela todos os meus castigos. Mas eles ainda estavam ávidos por fazer todo tipo de maldade.
8 Therefore wait but for me, saith the Lord, for the day that I rise up to the prey; for my judgment cometh to gather the nations, for me to assemble the kingdoms, to pour over them my indignation, all the fierceness of my anger; for through the fire of my jealousy shall all the earth be devoured.
8 Por isso, esperem por mim, " declara o Senhor, "no dia em que eu me levantar para testemunhar. Decidi ajuntar as nações, reunir os reinos e derramar a minha ira sobre eles, toda a minha impetuosa indignação. O mundo inteiro será consumido pelo fogo da minha zelosa ira.
9 Yea then will I change unto the people a pure language, that they may all call on the name of the Lord, to serve him with one accord.
9 "Então purificarei os lábios dos povos, para que todos eles invoquem o nome do Senhor e o sirvam de comum acordo.
10 From beyond the rivers of Cush shall they bring my suppliants, even the assembly of my dispersed, as an offering unto me.
10 Desde além dos rios da Etiópia os meus adoradores, o meu povo disperso, me trará ofertas.
11 On that day shalt thou not be ashamed because of all thy doings, whereby thou hast transgressed against me; for then will I remove out of the midst of thee those that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt never more be haughty again on my holy mount.
11 Naquele dia vocês não serão envergonhados pelos seus atos de rebelião, porque retirarei desta cidade os que se regozijam em seu orgulho. Nunca mais vocês serão altivos no meu santo monte.
12 And I will leave remaining in the midst of thee a humble and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord.
12 Mas deixarei no meio da cidade os mansos e humildes, que se refugiarão no nome do Senhor.
13 The remnant of Israel shall not do injustice, nor speak lies; and there shall not be found in their mouth a deceitful tongue; for they shall feed and lie down, with none to make them afraid.
13 O remanescente de Israel não cometerá injustiças; eles não mentirão, nem se achará engano em suas bocas. Eles se alimentarão e descansarão, sem que ninguém os amedronte. "
14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; rejoice and be glad with all thy heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!
14 Cante, ó cidade de Sião; exulte, ó Israel! Alegre-se, regozije-se de todo o coração, ó cidade de Jerusalém!
15 The Lord hath removed thy punishment, he hath cleared away thy enemy: the king of Israel, the Lord, is in the midst of thee; thou shalt not see evil any more.
15 O Senhor anulou a sentença contra você, ele fez retroceder os seus inimigos. O Senhor, o Rei de Israel, está em seu meio; nunca mais você temerá perigo algum.
16 On that day shall it be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: to Zion, Let not thy hands become weak.
16 Naquele dia se dirá a Jerusalém: "Não tema, ó Sião; não deixe suas mãos enfraquecerem.
17 The Lord thy God is in the midst of thee, the mighty one who will save; he will be glad over thee with rejoicing; he will be silent in his love, he will exult over thee with song.
17 O Senhor, o seu Deus, está em seu meio, poderoso para salvar. Ele se regozijará em você, com o seu amor a renovará, ele se regozijará em você com brados de alegria".
18 Those that mourn far away from the festive assembly do I gather, those that were separated from thee, that have borne for thee the burden of reproach.
18 "Eu ajuntarei os que choram pelas festas fixas, os que se afastaram de vocês, para que isso não mais pese como vergonha.
19 Behold, I will deal severely with all that afflict thee at that time: and I will save her that halteth, and her that was driven off will I gather; and I will render them a praise and a famous name on all the earth where they have been put to shame.
19 Nessa época agirei contra todos os que oprimiram vocês; salvarei os aleijados e ajuntarei os dispersos. Darei a eles louvor e honra em todas as terras onde foram envergonhados.
20 At that time will I bring you back, even in the time that I gather you; for I will make you for a name and for a praise among all people of the earth, when I bring back again your captives before your eyes, saith the Lord.
20 Naquele tempo eu ajuntarei vocês; naquele tempo os trarei para casa. Eu lhes darei honra e louvor entre todos os povos da terra, quando eu restaurar a sua sorte diante dos seus próprios olhos", diz o Senhor.
