Leeser Old Testament (LEESER) vs ARA
1 A soft answer turneth away fury; but a mortifying word stirreth up anger.
1 A resposta branda desvia o furor, mas a palavra dura suscita a ira.
2 The tongue of the wise maketh knowledge acceptable; but the mouth of fools sputtereth out folly.
2 A língua dos sábios adorna o conhecimento, mas a boca dos insensatos derrama a estultícia.
3 In every place are the eyes of the Lord, looking on the bad and the good.
3 Os olhos do Senhor estão em todo lugar, contemplando os maus e os bons.
4 A healing word of the tongue is a tree of life; but perverseness therein is a breach to the spirit.
4 A língua serena é árvore de vida, mas a perversa quebranta o espírito.
5 A fool contemneth the correction of his father; but he that observeth admonition will become prudent.
5 O insensato despreza a instrução de seu pai, mas o que atende à repreensão consegue a prudência.
6 In the house of the righteous there is much treasure; but in the income of the wicked is trouble.
6 Na casa do justo há grande tesouro, mas na renda dos perversos há perturbação.
7 The lips of the wise scatter knowledge; but the heart of fools is not reliable.
7 A língua dos sábios derrama o conhecimento, mas o coração dos insensatos não procede assim.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination of the Lord: but, the prayer of the upright obtaineth his favor.
8 O sacrifício dos perversos é abominável ao Senhor , mas a oração dos retos é o seu contentamento.
9 An abomination of the Lord is the way of the wicked; but him that pursueth righteousness will he love.
9 O caminho do perverso é abominação ao Senhor , mas este ama o que segue a justiça.
10 An evil correction is destined for him that forsaketh the right path; he that hateth admonition will die.
10 Disciplina rigorosa há para o que deixa a vereda, e o que odeia a repreensão morrerá.
11 The nether world and corruption are open before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men!
11 O além e o abismo estão descobertos perante o Senhor ; quanto mais o coração dos filhos dos homens!
12 A scorner loveth not that one should admonish him: unto the wise doth he not go.
12 O escarnecedor não ama àquele que o repreende, nem se chegará para os sábios.
13 A merry heart cheereth up the countenance; but when the heart feeleth pain the spirit is depressed.
13 O coração alegre aformoseia o rosto, mas com a tristeza do coração o espírito se abate.
14 The heart of the man of understanding seeketh knowledge; but the mouth of fools feedeth on folly.
14 O coração sábio procura o conhecimento, mas a boca dos insensatos se apascenta de estultícia.
15 All the days of the afflicted are evil; but he that is of a cheerful heart hath a continual feast.
15 Todos os dias do aflito são maus, mas a alegria do coração é banquete contínuo.
16 Better is little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasure and confusion therewith.
16 Melhor é o pouco, havendo o temor do Senhor , do que grande tesouro onde há inquietação.
17 Better is an allowance of herbs when love is there, than a stallfed ox and hatred therewith.
17 Melhor é um prato de hortaliças onde há amor do que o boi cevado e, com ele, o ódio.
18 A man of fury stirreth up strife; but he that is slow to anger assuageth contention.
18 O homem iracundo suscita contendas, mas o longânimo apazigua a luta.
19 The way of the slothful man is like a hedge of thorns; but the path of the upright is a levelled road.
19 O caminho do preguiçoso é como que cercado de espinhos, mas a vereda dos retos é plana.
20 A wise son causeth his father to rejoice; but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
20 O filho sábio alegra a seu pai, mas o homem insensato despreza a sua mãe.
21 Folly is joy to him that is void of sense; but a man of understanding walketh straight forward.
21 A estultícia é alegria para o que carece de entendimento, mas o homem sábio anda retamente.
22 Plans are frustrated without consultation; but through a multitude of counsellors canst thou maintain thyself.
22 Onde não há conselho fracassam os projetos, mas com os muitos conselheiros há bom êxito.
23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth; and a word spoken at the proper time, how good is it!
23 O homem se alegra em dar resposta adequada, e a palavra, a seu tempo, quão boa é!
24 The path of life leadeth upward for the intelligent, in order that he may avoid the nether world beneath.
24 Para o sábio há o caminho da vida que o leva para cima, a fim de evitar o inferno, embaixo.
25 The Lord, will tear down the house of the proud; but he will set up firmly the boundarystone of the widow.
25 O Senhor deita por terra a casa dos soberbos; contudo, mantém a herança da viúva.
26 An abomination of the Lord are the thoughts of the bad man; but pleasant speeches are pure before him.
26 Abomináveis são para o Senhor os desígnios do mau, mas as palavras bondosas lhe são aprazíveis.
27 He that is greedy after gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts will live.
27 O que é ávido por lucro desonesto transtorna a sua casa, mas o que odeia o suborno, esse viverá.
28 The heart of the righteous reflecteth to answer; but the mouth of the wicked sputtereth out evil things.
28 O coração do justo medita o que há de responder, mas a boca dos perversos transborda maldades.
29 The Lord is far from the wicked; but the prayer of the righteous doth he hear.
29 O Senhor está longe dos perversos, mas atende à oração dos justos.
30 What is pleasant to the light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: a good report giveth marrow to the bones.
30 O olhar de amigo alegra ao coração; as boas-novas fortalecem até os ossos.
31 The ear that heareth the admonition of life will ever abide in the midst of the wise.
31 Os ouvidos que atendem à repreensão salutar no meio dos sábios têm a sua morada.
32 He that rejecteth correction despiseth his own soul; but he that heareth admonition acquireth intelligence.
32 O que rejeita a disciplina menospreza a sua alma, porém o que atende à repreensão adquire entendimento.
33 The fear of the Lord is the correction for wisdom; and before honor there must come humility.
33 O temor do Senhor é a instrução da sabedoria, e a humildade precede a honra.
