1 At that time sent Merodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, the king of Babylon, letters and a present to Hezekiah; for he had heard that he had been sick, and was become strong again.
1 Naquele tempo, Merodaque-Baladã, o filho de Baladã, rei da Babilônia, enviou cartas e um presente a Ezequias, porque ele tinha ouvido que ele havia estado enfermo e estava recuperado.
2 And Hezekiah was rejoiced on their account, and showed them his treasurehouse, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious oil, and the whole of his armorhouse, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing that Hezekiah showed them not, in his house, and in all his dominion.
2 E Ezequias ficou feliz por causa deles, e mostrou-lhes a casa de suas coisas preciosas, a prata e o ouro, e as especiarias, e o unguento precioso, e toda a casa de suas armas e tudo que havia em seus tesouros. Não houve nada em sua casa, nem em todos os seus domínios que Ezequias não houvesse mostrado a eles.
3 Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What did these men say? and whence did they come unto thee? And Hezekiah said, From a faroff country are they come unto me, from Babylon.
3 Então, veio Isaías, o profeta, ao rei Ezequias, e disse-lhe: O que disseram estes homens? E, de que lugar vieram eles a ti? E Ezequias disse: Eles vêm de um país distante até mim, de Babilônia.
4 And he said, What did they see in thy house? And Hezekiah said, all that is in my house have they seen; there is nothing that I did not show them in my treasures.
4 Então, disse ele: O que eles têm visto em tua casa? E Ezequias respondeu: Tudo que está em minha casa têm eles visto. Não há nada dentre meus tesouros que eu não tenha mostrado a eles.
5 And Isaiah said to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the Lord of hosts,
5 Então, disse Isaías a Ezequias: Ouve a palavra do SENHOR dos Exércitos.
6 Behold, days are coming when all that is in thy house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the Lord.
6 Eis que os dias vêm, tais que tudo que está dentro de tua casa e o que teus pais têm armazenado em depósito até o presente dia, será carregado para Babilônia, nada será deixado, diz o SENHOR.
7 And of thy sons that will issue from thee, whom thou wilt beget, shall they take; and they shall be courtservants in the palace of the king of Babylon.
7 E de teus filhos, que de ti descenderem, os quais tu gerarás, eles os tomarão, e eles serão eunucos dentro do palácio do rei da Babilônia.
8 Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and stability in my days.
8 Então, disse Ezequias a Isaías: Boa é a palavra do SENHOR, a qual tu tens falado. Disse ele além disso: Porque haverá paz e verdade em meus dias.
