1 Hear this word which the Lord hath spoken concerning you, O children of Israel, concerning the whole family which I have brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
1 Ouvi esta palavra que o ­SENHOR fala contra vós, ó filhos de Israel, contra toda a família que fiz subir da terra do Egito, dizendo:
2 Only you have I loved out of all the families of the earth: therefore will I visit upon you all your iniquities.
2 Só a vós vos tenho conhecido, de todas as famílias da terra; portanto eu vos punirei por todas as vossas iniquidades.
3 Will two walk together, except they had agreed to do so?
3 Podem dois caminharem juntos, se não estiverem de acordo?
4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion send forth his voice out of his den, unless he have caught something?
4 Rugirá o leão na floresta, sem que tenha presa? Levantará o leãozinho no seu covil a sua voz, se nada tiver apanhado?
5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, when there is no gin for him? is ever a snare taken up from the ground, when it hath caught nothing at all?
5 Poderá um pássaro cair no laço sobre a terra, se não houver armadilha para ele? Levantar-se-á da terra o laço, sem que tenha apanhado coisa alguma?
6 Shall a cornet be blown in a city, and the people not become afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord have not done it?
6 Tocar-se-á a trombeta na cidade, e o povo não temerá? Sucederá algum mal a uma cidade, sem que o SENHOR o tenha feito?
7 For the Lord Eternal will do nothing, unless he have revealed his secret unto his servants the prophets.
7 Certamente o Senhor DEUS não fará nada sem ter revelado seu segredo aos seus servos, os profetas.
8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord Eternal hath spoken, who will not prophesy?
8 Rugiu o leão, quem não temerá? O Senhor DEUS falou, quem não profetizará?
9 Publish at the palaces in Ashdod, and at the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great confusions in her midst, and the oppressions that are within her.
9 Proclamai nos palácios de Asdode, e nos palácios da terra do Egito, e dizei: Ajuntai-vos sobre os montes de Samaria, e vede que grandes alvoroços há no meio dela, e os oprimidos no meio dela.
10 For they know not how to act rightly, saith the Lord, who treasure up violence and robbery in their palaces.
10 Pois não sabem fazer o que é reto, diz o ­SENHOR, aqueles que armazenam violência e roubo em seus palácios.
11 Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, The adversary is there and surroundeth the land: and he shall bring down from thee thy strength, and thy palaces shall be plundered.
11 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor DEUS: um inimigo virá, e cercará a terra, e ele derrubará a tua fortaleza, e os teus palácios serão saqueados.
12 Thus hath said the Lord, As the shepherd snatcheth out of the mouth of the lion at most two leg–bones, or a tip of the ear: so shall be delivered the children of Israel that sit in Samaria on the corner of a bed, and on Damascus couches.
12 Assim diz o ­SENHOR: como o pastor livra da boca do leão duas pernas, ou um pedaço de uma orelha, assim também serão livrados os filhos de Israel que habitam em Samaria, no canto de uma cama, e em Damasco, em um leito.
13 Hear ye, and give warning in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord Eternal, the God of hosts.
13 Ouvi, e testemunhai contra a casa de Jacó, diz o Senhor DEUS, o Deus dos Exércitos;
14 For on the day when I visit the transgressions of Israel upon him, will I also inflict punishment on the altars of Beth–el: and then shall be hewn off the horns of the altar, and they shall fall to the ground.
14 pois no dia em que eu visitar as transgressões de Israel, também visitarei os altares de Betel; e os chifres do altar serão cortados, e cairão no chão.
15 And I will smite the winter–house together with the summer–house: and the houses of ivory shall disappear, and the great houses shall be no more, saith the Lord.
15 E eu derrubarei a casa de inverno juntamente com a casa de verão; e as casas de marfim perecerão, e as grandes casas terão fim, diz o ­SENHOR.
