1 And when Solomon had made an end of praying, a fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burntoffering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.
1 Assim que Salomão acabou de orar, desceu fogo do céu e consumiu o holocausto e os sacrifícios, e a glória do Senhor encheu o templo.
2 And the priests were not able to enter into the house of the Lord; because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lords house.
2 Os sacerdotes não conseguiam entrar no templo do Senhor, porque a glória do Senhor o enchia.
3 And all the children of Israel were looking on as the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord was resting upon the house; and they kneeled down with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and prostrated themselves, and gave thanks unto the Lord, for he is good; because unto everlasting endureth his kindness.
3 Quando todos os israelitas viram o fogo descendo e a glória do Senhor sobre o templo, ajoelharam-se no pavimento, chegando o rosto ao chão, adoraram e deram graças ao Senhor, dizendo: "Ele é bom; o seu amor dura para sempre".
4 And the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the Lord.
4 Então o rei e todo o Israel ofereceram sacrifícios ao Senhor.
5 And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep: and so they dedicated the house of God, the king and all the people.
5 O rei Salomão ofereceu em sacrifício vinte e dois mil bois e cento e vinte mil ovelhas. Assim o rei e todo o povo fizeram a dedicação do templo de Deus.
6 And the priests were standing on their stations, and the Levites with the instruments of the music of the Lord, which king David had made to give thanks unto the Lord, because unto everlasting endureth his kindness, with the song of praise of David in their hand; and the priests blew the trumpets opposite to them, and all Israel were standing.
6 Os sacerdotes tomaram seus lugares, bem como os levitas, com os instrumentos musicais do Senhor feitos pelo rei Davi para louvar o Senhor cantando: "O seu amor dura para sempre". No outro lado, de frente para os levitas, os sacerdotes tocavam suas cornetas. Todo o povo estava de pé.
7 And Solomon hallowed the interior of the court that was before the house of the Lord; for he prepared there the burntofferings, and the fat of the peaceofferings; because the copper altar which Solomon had made was not able to contain the burntofferings, and the meatofferings, and the fat.
7 Salomão consagrou a parte central do pátio, que ficava na frente do templo do Senhor, e ali ofereceu holocaustos e a gordura das ofertas de comunhão, pois o altar de bronze que Salomão tinha construído não comportava os holocaustos, as ofertas de cereal e as porções de gordura.
8 And Solomon held the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from the entrance of Chamath unto the river of Egypt.
8 Durante sete dias, Salomão, juntamente com todo o Israel, celebrou a festa; era uma grande multidão, gente vinda desde Lebo-Hamate até o ribeiro do Egito.
9 And they held on the eighth day a solemn assembly; for the dedication of the altar they held seven days, and the feast seven days.
9 No oitavo dia realizaram uma assembléia solene. Levaram sete dias para a dedicação do altar, e a festa se prolongou por mais sete dias.
10 And on the threeandtwentieth day of the seventh month he dismissed the people unto their tents, joyful and glad of heart because of the good that the Lord had done for David, and for Solomon, and for Israel his people.
10 No dia vinte e três do sétimo mês, ele mandou o povo para as suas casas. E todos se foram, jubilosos e de coração alegre pelas coisas boas que o Senhor havia feito por Davi e Salomão e por seu povo Israel.
11 Thus did Solomon complete the house of the Lord, and the kings house; and in all that came into Solomons heart to make in the house of the Lord, and in his own house, he prospered.
11 Quando Salomão acabou de construir o templo do Senhor e o palácio real, executando bem tudo o que tinha em mente realizar no templo do Senhor e em seu próprio palácio,
12 Then appeared the Lord to Solomon during the night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and I have made choice of this place for myself as a house of sacrifice.
12 o Senhor lhe apareceu de noite e disse: "Ouvi sua oração, e escolhi este lugar para mim, como um templo para sacrifícios.
13 If I shut up the heavens that there be no rain, or if I give a charge to the locusts to devour off the land, or if I send a pestilence among my people:
13 "Se eu fechar o céu para que não chova ou mandar que os gafanhotos devorem o país ou sobre o meu povo enviar uma praga,
14 And if my people, over whom my name is called, do then humble themselves, and pray, and seek my presence, and turn away from their evil ways: then will I also hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
14 se o meu povo, que se chama pelo meu nome, se humilhar e orar, buscar a minha face e se afastar dos seus maus caminhos, dos céus o ouvirei, perdoarei o seu pecado e curarei a sua terra.
15 Now, my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive unto the prayer on this place.
15 De hoje em diante os meus olhos estarão abertos e os meus ouvidos atentos às orações feitas neste lugar.
16 And now I have chosen and hallowed this house, that my name may be there for ever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there at all times.
16 Escolhi e consagrei este templo para que o meu nome esteja nele para sempre. Meus olhos e meu coração nele sempre estarão.
17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father hath walked, so as to do in accordance with all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my ordinances:
17 "E se você andar segundo a minha vontade como fez seu pai Davi e fizer tudo o que eu lhe ordeno, obedecendo aos meus decretos e às minhas leis,
18 Then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom, just as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall never fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
18 firmarei o seu trono, conforme a aliança que fiz com Davi, seu pai, quando lhe disse: ‘Você nunca deixará de ter um descendente para governar Israel’.
19 But if ye will indeed turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and will go and serve other gods, and bow down to them:
19 "Mas, se vocês se afastarem de mim e abandonarem os decretos e os mandamentos que lhes dei, e prestarem culto a outros deuses e adorá-los,
20 Then will I pluck them up out of my land which I have given unto them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast away from my sight, and I will render it to be for a proverb and for a byword among all the people.
20 desarraigarei Israel da minha terra, que lhes dei, e lançarei para longe da minha presença este templo que consagrei ao meu nome. Farei que ele se torne motivo de zombaria entre todos os povos.
21 And this house, which hath been so exalted, shall become an astonishment to every one that passeth by it: so that he will say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
21 E embora agora este templo seja imponente, todos os que passarem por ele ficarão espantados e perguntarão: ‘Por que o Senhor fez uma coisa dessas a esta terra e a este templo? ’
22 And men shall then say, For the cause that they forsook the Lord the God of their fathers, who had brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and they took hold of other gods, and bowed down to them, and served them: therefore hath he brought upon them all this evil.
22 E a resposta será: ‘Porque abandonaram o Senhor, o Deus dos seus antepassados, que os tirou do Egito, e se apegaram a outros deuses, adorando-os e prestando-lhes culto; por isso ele trouxe sobre eles toda esta desgraça’ ".
