1 And when Solomon had made an end of praying, a fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burntoffering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.
1 Tendo Salomão acabado de orar, desceu fogo do céu e consumiu o holocausto e os sacrifícios; e a glória do Senhor encheu a casa.
2 And the priests were not able to enter into the house of the Lord; because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lords house.
2 Os sacerdotes não podiam entrar na Casa do Senhor , porque a glória do Senhor tinha enchido a Casa do Senhor .
3 And all the children of Israel were looking on as the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord was resting upon the house; and they kneeled down with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and prostrated themselves, and gave thanks unto the Lord, for he is good; because unto everlasting endureth his kindness.
3 Todos os filhos de Israel, vendo descer o fogo e a glória do Senhor sobre a casa, se encurvaram com o rosto em terra sobre o pavimento, e adoraram, e louvaram o Senhor , porque é bom, porque a sua misericórdia dura para sempre.
4 And the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the Lord.
4 Então, o rei e todo o povo ofereceram sacrifícios diante do Senhor .
5 And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep: and so they dedicated the house of God, the king and all the people.
5 Ofereceu o rei Salomão em sacrifício vinte e dois mil bois e cento e vinte mil ovelhas.
6 And the priests were standing on their stations, and the Levites with the instruments of the music of the Lord, which king David had made to give thanks unto the Lord, because unto everlasting endureth his kindness, with the song of praise of David in their hand; and the priests blew the trumpets opposite to them, and all Israel were standing.
6 Assim, o rei e todo o povo consagraram a Casa de Deus. Os sacerdotes estavam nos seus devidos lugares, como também os levitas com os instrumentos músicos do Senhor , que o rei Davi tinha feito para deles se utilizar nas ações de graças ao Senhor , porque a sua misericórdia dura para sempre. Os sacerdotes que tocavam as trombetas estavam defronte deles, e todo o Israel se mantinha em pé.
7 And Solomon hallowed the interior of the court that was before the house of the Lord; for he prepared there the burntofferings, and the fat of the peaceofferings; because the copper altar which Solomon had made was not able to contain the burntofferings, and the meatofferings, and the fat.
7 Salomão consagrou também o meio do átrio que estava diante da Casa do Senhor , porquanto ali prepararam os holocaustos e a gordura dos sacrifícios pacíficos; porque, no altar de bronze, que Salomão fizera, não podiam caber os holocaustos, as ofertas de manjares e a gordura dos sacrifícios pacíficos.
8 And Solomon held the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from the entrance of Chamath unto the river of Egypt.
8 Assim, celebrou Salomão a festa por sete dias, e todo o Israel, com ele, uma grande congregação, desde a entrada de Hamate até ao rio do Egito.
9 And they held on the eighth day a solemn assembly; for the dedication of the altar they held seven days, and the feast seven days.
9 Ao oitavo dia, começaram a celebrar a Festa dos Tabernáculos, porque, por sete dias, já haviam celebrado a consagração do altar; a festa durava sete dias.
10 And on the threeandtwentieth day of the seventh month he dismissed the people unto their tents, joyful and glad of heart because of the good that the Lord had done for David, and for Solomon, and for Israel his people.
10 No vigésimo terceiro dia do sétimo mês, o rei despediu o povo para as suas tendas; e todos se foram alegres e de coração contente por causa do bem que o Senhor fizera a Davi, a Salomão e a Israel, seu povo.
11 Thus did Solomon complete the house of the Lord, and the kings house; and in all that came into Solomons heart to make in the house of the Lord, and in his own house, he prospered.
11 Assim, Salomão acabou a Casa do Senhor e a casa do rei; tudo quanto Salomão intentou fazer na Casa do Senhor e na sua casa, prosperamente o efetuou.
12 Then appeared the Lord to Solomon during the night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and I have made choice of this place for myself as a house of sacrifice.
12 De noite, apareceu o Senhor a Salomão e lhe disse: Ouvi a tua oração e escolhi para mim este lugar para casa do sacrifício.
13 If I shut up the heavens that there be no rain, or if I give a charge to the locusts to devour off the land, or if I send a pestilence among my people:
13 Se eu cerrar os céus de modo que não haja chuva, ou se ordenar aos gafanhotos que consumam a terra, ou se enviar a peste entre o meu povo;
14 And if my people, over whom my name is called, do then humble themselves, and pray, and seek my presence, and turn away from their evil ways: then will I also hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
14 se o meu povo, que se chama pelo meu nome, se humilhar, e orar, e me buscar, e se converter dos seus maus caminhos, então, eu ouvirei dos céus, perdoarei os seus pecados e sararei a sua terra.
15 Now, my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive unto the prayer on this place.
15 Estarão abertos os meus olhos e atentos os meus ouvidos à oração que se fizer neste lugar.
16 And now I have chosen and hallowed this house, that my name may be there for ever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there at all times.
16 Porque escolhi e santifiquei esta casa, para que nela esteja o meu nome perpetuamente; nela, estarão fixos os meus olhos e o meu coração todos os dias.
17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father hath walked, so as to do in accordance with all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my ordinances:
17 Quanto a ti, se andares diante de mim, como andou Davi, teu pai, e fizeres segundo tudo o que te ordenei, e guardares os meus estatutos e os meus juízos,
18 Then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom, just as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall never fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
18 também confirmarei o trono do teu reino, segundo a aliança que fiz com Davi, teu pai, dizendo: Não te faltará sucessor que domine em Israel.
19 But if ye will indeed turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and will go and serve other gods, and bow down to them:
19 Porém, se vós vos desviardes, e deixardes os meus estatutos e os meus mandamentos, que vos prescrevi, e fordes, e servirdes a outros deuses, e os adorardes,
20 Then will I pluck them up out of my land which I have given unto them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast away from my sight, and I will render it to be for a proverb and for a byword among all the people.
20 então, vos arrancarei da minha terra que vos dei, e esta casa, que santifiquei ao meu nome, lançarei longe da minha presença, e a tornarei em provérbio e motejo entre todos os povos.
21 And this house, which hath been so exalted, shall become an astonishment to every one that passeth by it: so that he will say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
21 Desta casa, agora tão exaltada, todo aquele que por ela passar pasmará e dirá: Por que procedeu o Senhor assim para com esta terra e esta casa?
22 And men shall then say, For the cause that they forsook the Lord the God of their fathers, who had brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and they took hold of other gods, and bowed down to them, and served them: therefore hath he brought upon them all this evil.
22 Responder-se-lhe-á: Porque deixaram o Senhor , o Deus de seus pais, que os tirou da terra do Egito, e se apegaram a outros deuses, e os adoraram, e os serviram. Por isso, trouxe sobre eles todo este mal.
