2 ivangyɛ umbɔ aka inya itɛn amɛnmbi nggu idzowe imor ri ibibɛkmbi.
2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;
3 Niba atsumbi amɛnmbi ri igbɛr idzam iyi iyor awia, ru nyaka umbɔ itsɛrhi itsi, nu itsu abin uzinarhi, nu itsim atorho aka aze.
3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 Nu ngge iki iwe rimi, àka aneke idzammbi iwe amɛn aka aze, idzam iyiriyɛ iki isi ísatungge iyiki ikpɔm atsi, iyiriyɛ iki iwu ru undzumu ugarh ru Unum.
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 Ubinkutsu akɛrɛ ha aweke ishaa ri ivang asarkasar akatsɛrh abika atsu ifosambɔ ru Unum aki igbɛr idzam awu azeze. Umbɔ aki isaka adɔsa arherhe atsakmbɔ,
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;
6 ru nyaku Usaratu aka adɔsa arherhe utsaknga Uibrahim, na ayisa unga uteiyanga. Umbi awu anapu Usaratu, umbi aba akorha arhikumbi na asi igũmbi iwei.
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.

7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Ri imimasha, neke kishoo amɛnmbi awu unying, àka agũ atorh adɔka, àka abema adɔka ru nyaka angwɛ̃yi, àka ayike adɔka nggu irhɛrhi itsi.

10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.

11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;

12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.

13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?

14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 Bɔr ra amɛnmbi àka atsu Ukiristo awe Uteijee. Ubɛn ivang àka adzɛu idɛyiwe ubɛn unera aka irhusa ri itsi ifosayɛ umbi aka awerangge, bɔr àka akorhe nggu ididɔɔr nu idzowe imor.
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.
16 Àka angwɛ̃ itɛnamɛn. Ngge ítsu abika arhena umbi ri ikorhi iyiki izembi ru Ukiristo agũ atsak ru urhenambɔ.
16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 Aba awu ibibee Unum, azea umbi ahwa ayetnum ri ikorhe iyiki ize nu umbi aka ihwa ayetnum ri ikorhe iyiki ibewe.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Ukiristo akpe idikunga unying ri itsi arhimmɛn kishoo, uwuku urhurhika akpe ra abirabɛ aka asi irhikumbɔ, ngge itsú unga akũna umbi aba ru Unum. Atsu iyornga ra akpe nu Unum atsu urhɛnga uwe ru Ipfunga.
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.

20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 Amɛ̃ hã awu utsar isorhu ubɔtisima uwuku ufɔrh umbi icɛrɛ, asi iwea isorhi iyor bɔr awu ibibemuwe iyi amɛn aka aze ra asu Unum. Ngge ifɔrha umbi ri isok ra akpe Uyesu Ukiristo,
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 uwuruwi aka azĩã ra afã na awu ru ubok ugha Unum, nu ípfu itser-Num nu ípfu iyi iyɛrhe nu iyi ijee kishoo iwu iyinga.
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
