8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Anum naase se, mɛtjil jee kɛn Raa bɛɛr tɔɔɗsenga tɔɔɗo, naase se jee tɛɗn sɛrkŋ gɛn gaarin̰ge, naase se jee naan̰ge ɔɔ naan̰ ɓo debm kɛn dugsenga dose. Naan̰ daŋ ɔɔɗseno maakŋ gɔt kɛn ɔɔɗɔ ɔɔ ɓaanseno maakŋ gɔtin̰ kɛn wɔɔr jiga se, taa naase aki wɔɔkŋ Taar Raa se jeege tu, do nakge tun magal magal kɛn naan̰ tɛɗin̰ se.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Do dɔkin̰ se naase jee Raage eyo, num ɓɔrse se, naase Ꞌtɛɗkiga jee naan̰ge. Do dɔkin̰ se naan̰ ɛɛjo te dose ki eyo, num ɓɔrse se, naan̰ ɛɛjsenga dose ki.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.

11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 ꞋSookki tɔɔgge tu taa Mɛljege Isa *al‑Masi se, ɔɔ Ꞌsookki gaar tu taa naan̰ ɓo debm do jeege tu paac,

15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Iŋg aalki dose sɛn̰ aan gɔɔ jee kɛn ɔŋga kɔŋ doɗe. Naase se ɔŋkiga dose, naɓo kɔŋ dosen ɔŋki se, ɔn̰ten Ꞌsaapki ɔɔki ɔŋkiga ɗoobo gɛn tɛɗn kusin̰a. Num gaŋ naase se, iŋgki aan gɔɔ jee tɛɗn naabm Raage.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.

17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Naase jeegen kɛn Ꞌlee Ꞌtɛɗki naaba gɔtn jeege tu se, Ꞌbooy uunki taar mɛlsege. Kɛn aki booy taar mɛlsege se, ɔn̰te Ꞌbooyki taar jee kɛn tɛɗsen bɛɛ ɔɔ jese sum eyo, num gaŋ Ꞌbooy uunki taar mɛlsegen kusin̰ kusin̰ se kici.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Kɛn kꞋdabarse cɛrɛ se kic jaay naase aasin̰ki se, taa taar Raa sum ɓo naase ɔn̰ki rose kꞋdabarse se; kɛse ɓo nakŋ kɛn tɔɔl Raa ki.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Kɛn Ꞌtɛɗ *kusin̰ jaay kꞋdabari se, bɛɛn̰ tap ɓo ɗi? Anum kɛn Ꞌtɛɗki bɛɛ jaay ɔn̰ki rose kꞋdabarse se, kɛse nakŋ jiga aak eyo naan Raa ki.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Raa daŋseno se taa naan̰ se, taa Isa *al‑Masi se kic dabaroga taa naase ɔɔ naan̰ ɓo debm taaɗsen ɗoobo taa naase kic aki kuun bɔlɔtin̰a.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Naan̰ se tɛɗ te kusin̰ eyo ɔɔ ɓii kalaŋ tap ɓo tɛɗ te taar‑kɔɔɓ eyo.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Kɛn kꞋnaajin̰ kic ɓo naan̰ tɛrl te taar iŋg kus nam ki eyo. KꞋdabarin̰ kic ɓo, naan̰ tɛɗ te kusin̰ nam ki eyo. Num nakge paac naan̰ ɔn̰in̰ kaam ji debm kɛn utu Ꞌkɔjn̰ bɔɔrɔ te ɗoobin̰ se do jeege tu.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Kɛn Isa ooy do kaag ki se, naan̰ uun kusin̰jege don̰ ki taa ajeki gaaŋ te kusin̰a ɔɔ jꞋaki kiŋg gɛn tɛɗn nakgen te ɗoobin̰a. Ɔɔ ute dubar kɛn naan̰ ɔŋ se ɓo, ɛɗjeki kaaja.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Do dɔkin̰ se naase aan gɔɔ baatgen iigga kiigi, num ɓɔrse se naase ɔk Ꞌtɛrlkiroga gɔtn debm gaam ki. Naan̰ ɓo debm bɔɔb kose.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
