1 My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the grave is ready for me.
1 O meu fôlego é corrupto, meus dias são extintos, os túmulos estão prontos para mim.
2 Are there not mockers with me? and does not my eye continue in their provocation?
2 Não há zombadores comigo, e não continuam meus olhos em sua provocação?
3 Lay down a surety for me with you; who is he that will give surety for me?
3 Estabelece agora, ponha-me em uma garantia contigo; quem é o que irá apertar a minha mão?
4 For you have hidden their heart from understanding: therefore shall you not exalt them.
4 Porque tu escondeste dos seus corações o entendimento. Por isso, não os exaltarás.
5 He that speaks flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.
5 Aquele que profere lisonja a seus amigos, até os olhos dos seus filhos falharão.
6 He has made me also a byword of the people; and I was as one before whom men spit.
6 Ele também fez de mim motivo de riso para as pessoas; e antes eu era como um adufe.
7 My eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are like a shadow.
7 Meus olhos também estão escurecidos por causa da tristeza, e todos os meus membros são como a sombra.
8 Upright men shall be astonished at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.
8 Os homens retos ficarão espantados com isto, e o inocente se agitará contra o hipócrita.
9 The righteous also shall hold to his way, and he that has clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
9 O justo também permanecerá em seu caminho, e aquele que tem mãos limpas ficará cada vez mais forte.
10 But as for you all, do you return, and come now: for I cannot find one wise man among you.
10 Mas, em relação a vós todos, retornai e vinde agora, porque eu não posso achar um homem sábio entre vós.
11 My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.
11 Os meus dias passaram, e meus propósitos são quebrados, até mesmo os pensamentos do meu coração.
12 They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.
12 Eles trocam a noite em dia; a luz é curta por causa das trevas.
13 If I wait, the grave is my house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
13 Se eu espero, a sepultura é a minha casa; eu fiz o meu leito nas trevas.
14 I have said to corruption, You are my father: to the worm, You are my mother, and my sister.
14 Eu disse à corrupção: Tu és meu pai; e aos vermes: Vós sois minha mãe, e minha irmã.
15 And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?
15 E onde está agora a minha esperança? E quanto a minha esperança, quem a verá?
16 They shall go down to the gates of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.
16 Eles descerão às barras da cova, quando juntos nosso descanso estiver no pó.
