1 And he entered into a ship and passed over and came into his own city.
1 Jesus entrou num barco, voltou para o lado oeste do lago e chegou à sua cidade .
2 And, behold, they brought him a paralyzed man, lying on a bed; and Jesus, seeing their faith, said unto the paralyzed man, Trust, son; thy sins are forgiven thee.
2 Então algumas pessoas trouxeram um paralítico deitado numa cama. Jesus viu que eles tinham fé e disse ao paralítico:
3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This [man] blasphemes.
3 Aí alguns mestres da Lei começaram a pensar: — Este homem está
4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Why think ye evil in your hearts?
4 Porém Jesus sabia o que eles estavam pensando e disse:
5 For what is easier, to say, [Thy] sins are forgiven thee, or to say, Arise, and walk?
5 O que é mais fácil dizer ao paralítico: “Os seus pecados estão perdoados” ou “Levante-se e ande”?
6 But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins (then said he to the paralysed man), Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
6 Pois vou mostrar a vocês que eu, o Então disse ao paralítico:
7 Then he arose and departed to his house.
7 O homem se levantou e foi para casa.
8 And the multitude, seeing [it], marvelled and glorified God, who had given such power unto men.
8 Quando o povo viu isso, ficou com medo e louvou a Deus por dar esse poder a seres humanos.
9 And as Jesus passed forth from there, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom; and he said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
9 Jesus saiu dali e, no caminho, viu um cobrador de impostos, chamado Mateus, sentado no lugar onde os impostos eram pagos. Jesus lhe disse: Mateus se levantou e foi com ele.
10 And it came to pass, as he sat at food in [his] house, behold, many publicans and sinners that had come sat down at the table with Jesus and his disciples.
10 Mais tarde, enquanto Jesus estava jantando na casa de Mateus, muitos cobradores de impostos e outras pessoas de má fama chegaram e sentaram-se à mesa com Jesus e os seus discípulos.
11 And when the Pharisees saw [it], they said unto his disciples, Why does your Master eat with publicans and sinners?
11 Alguns fariseus viram isso e perguntaram aos discípulos: — Por que é que o mestre de vocês come com os cobradores de impostos e com outras pessoas de má fama?
12 But when Jesus heard [that], he said unto them, Those that are whole need not a physician, but those that are sick.
12 Jesus ouviu a pergunta e respondeu:
13 Therefore go ye and learn what this is, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, for I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
13 Vão e procurem entender o que quer dizer este trecho das
14 Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but thy disciples do not fast?
14 Então os discípulos de João Batista chegaram perto de Jesus e perguntaram: — Por que é que nós e os
15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the sons of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then they shall fast.
15 Jesus respondeu:
16 No one mends an old garment with a piece of new cloth, for that patch takes from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
16 — Ninguém usa um retalho de pano novo para remendar uma roupa velha; pois o remendo novo encolhe e rasga a roupa velha, aumentando o buraco.
17 Neither do they put new wine into old wineskins, otherwise the wineskins break, and the wine runs out, and the wineskins perish; but they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved together.
17 Ninguém põe vinho novo em
18 While he spoke these things unto them, behold, a certain ruler came and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead; but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
18 Enquanto Jesus estava falando ao povo, um chefe religioso chegou perto dele, ajoelhou-se e disse: — A minha filha morreu agora mesmo! Venha e ponha as mãos sobre ela para que viva de novo.
19 And Jesus arose and followed him, and [so did] his disciples.
19 Então Jesus foi com ele, e os seus discípulos também foram.
20 And, behold, a woman who was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years came behind [him] and touched the hem of his garment;
20 Certa mulher, que fazia doze anos que estava com uma hemorragia, veio por trás de Jesus e tocou na barra da capa dele.
21 for she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be free.
21 Pois ela pensava assim: “Se eu apenas tocar na capa dele, ficarei curada.”
22 But Jesus turned around, and when he saw her, he said, Trust, daughter; thy faith has made thee free. And the woman was free from that hour.
22 Jesus virou, viu a mulher e disse: E naquele momento a mulher ficou curada.
23 And when Jesus came into the ruler's house and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
23 Depois Jesus foi para a casa do chefe religioso. Quando viu os que tocavam música fúnebre e viu a multidão numa confusão geral,
24 he said unto them, Give place, for the maid is not dead, but sleeps. And they laughed him to scorn.
24 disse: Então começaram a caçoar dele.
25 But when the people were put forth, he went in and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
25 Logo que a multidão saiu, Jesus entrou no quarto em que a menina estava, pegou-a pela mão, e ela se levantou.
26 And the fame of this went abroad into all that land.
26 E a notícia a respeito disso se espalhou por toda aquela região.
27 And when Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed him, crying out and saying, [Thou] Son of David, have mercy on us.
27 Jesus saiu daquele lugar, e no caminho dois cegos começaram a segui-lo, gritando: —
28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yes, Lord.
28 Assim que Jesus entrou em casa, os cegos chegaram perto dele. Então ele perguntou: — Sim, senhor! Nós cremos! — responderam eles.
29 Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
29 Jesus tocou nos olhos deles e disse:
30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See [that] no one knows [it].
30 E os olhos deles ficaram curados. Aí Jesus ordenou com severidade:
31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
31 Porém eles foram embora e espalharam as notícias a respeito de Jesus por toda aquela região.
32 And as they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a demon.
32 Quando eles foram embora, algumas pessoas levaram a Jesus um homem que não podia falar porque estava dominado por um demônio.
33 And when the demon was cast out, the dumb man spoke; and the multitude marvelled, saying, Such a thing has never been seen in Israel.
33 Logo que o demônio foi expulso, o homem começou a falar. Todos ficaram admirados e afirmavam: — Nunca vimos em Israel uma coisa assim!
34 But the Pharisees said, He casts out demons through the prince of the demons.
34 Mas os fariseus diziam: — O chefe dos demônios é quem dá a esse homem poder para expulsar demônios.
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every weakness among the people.
35 Jesus andava visitando todas as cidades e povoados. Ele ensinava nas sinagogas , anunciava a boa notícia sobre o Reino e curava todo tipo de enfermidades e doenças graves das pessoas.
36 And when he saw the multitude, he was moved with compassion on them because they fainted and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
36 Quando Jesus viu a multidão, ficou com muita pena daquela gente porque eles estavam aflitos e abandonados, como ovelhas sem pastor.
37 Then he said unto his disciples, The harvest truly [is] plenteous, but the labourers [are] few;
37 Então disse aos discípulos:
38 pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.:
38 Peçam ao dono da plantação que mande mais trabalhadores para fazerem a colheita.
