1 Moreover, the LORD answered Job and said,
1 Ademais, o SENHOR respondeu a Jó, e disse:
2 Shall he that contends with the Almighty instruct [him]? Let him that disputes with God answer this.
2 Poderá aquele que contende com o Todo-Poderoso instruí-lo? Aquele que reprova a Deus que responda isso.
3 Then Job answered the LORD and said,
3 Então, Jó respondeu ao SENHOR, e disse:
4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay my hand over my mouth.
4 Eis que eu sou vil; o que eu te responderei? Colocarei a minha mão sobre minha boca.
5 Once I have spoken; but I will not answer; even twice, but I will proceed no further.
5 Uma vez eu falei, mas não responderei, sim, duas vezes; mas não prosseguirei.
6 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,
6 Então, o SENHOR respondeu a Jó de um redemoinho, e disse:
7 Gird up thy loins now like a man; I will ask thee, and explain thou unto me.
7 Cinge agora os teus lombos como um homem; eu exigirei de ti, e declara-te a mim.
8 Wilt thou disannul my judgment? Wilt thou condemn me, that thou may be justified?
8 Invalidarás tu também o meu juízo? Condenar-me-ás para que possas ser justo?
9 Hast thou an arm like God? And canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
9 Tens braço como Deus, ou podes trovejar com voz como ele o faz?
10 Deck thyself now [with] majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
10 Orna-te agora com majestade e excelência; e arruma-te com glória e beleza.
11 Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath; and behold every one [that is] proud and bring him down.
11 Lança fora a fúria da tua ira, e atenta para todo aquele que é orgulhoso, e humilha-o.
12 Look on every one [that is] proud, [and] bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
12 Olha para todo aquele que é orgulhoso, e traze-o para baixo, e pisa o perverso em seu lugar.
13 Hide them in the dust together; [and] blindfold their faces in darkness.
13 Esconde-os juntamente no pó; e amarra-lhes as faces em secreto.
14 Then I will also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
14 Então eu também confessarei a ti, que tua própria mão direita pode te salvar.
15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eats grass as an ox.
15 Contempla agora o beemote, que eu fiz contigo; ele come grama como um boi.
16 Behold now, his strength [is] in his loins, and his force [is] in the navel of his belly.
16 Eis que agora a sua força está nos seus lombos, e o seu poder está no umbigo de sua barriga.
17 He moves his tail like a cedar; the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
17 Ele move sua cauda como o cedro; os tendões de suas pedras estão juntamente envoltos.
18 His bones [are as] strong as brass; his members [are] like bars of iron.
18 Seus ossos são como fortes pedaços de bronze; seus ossos são como barras de ferro.
19 He is the beginning of the ways of God; he that made him shall make his sword draw near [unto him].
19 Ele é o principal dos caminhos de Deus; aquele que o fez pode fazer com que sua espada se aproxime até ele.
20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
20 Certamente os montes lhe trazem comida, onde todos os animais do campo folgam.
21 He shall lie down under the shade, in the covert of the reeds and of the damp places.
21 Ele deita debaixo das árvores com sombra, no abrigo de cana e pântanos.
22 The shady [trees] cover him [with] their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
22 As árvores com sombra o cobrem com ela; os salgueiros do ribeiro o cercam.
23 Behold, he shall drink up a river [and] not change; he trusts that he can draw up the Jordan into his mouth.
23 Eis que ele bebe um rio e não se apressa; ele confia que pode extrair o Jordão para sua boca.
24 His maker shall take him by [the weakness of] his eyes in a snare, and pierce through his nose.:
24 Ele o toma com seus olhos; seu nariz perfura as armadilhas.
