Isaías 27

1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall visit [punishment] upon leviathan the fleeing serpent, and upon leviathan that serpent of double vision; and he shall slay the dragon that [is] in the sea.
1 Naquele dia, o S enhor tomará sua veloz e terrível espada e castigará o Leviatã, a serpente que se move com rapidez, a serpente que se enrola e se contorce. Ele matará o dragão do mar.
2 In that day sing ye unto the vineyard of the red wine.
2 “Naquele dia, cantem sobre a videira frutífera.
3 I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest [the enemy] visit it, I will keep it night and day.
3 Eu, o S enhor , a vigiarei e a regarei com cuidado. Dia e noite a vigiarei, para que ninguém lhe cause dano.
4 Fury [is] not in me: who would set the briers [and] thorns against me in battle? I would tread them down, I would burn them together.
4 Minha ira terá passado; se houver espinhos e mato crescendo ali, eu os atacarei e os queimarei,
5 Or [who] shall take hold of my strength? Make peace with me, yea, make peace with me.
5 a menos que se voltem para mim e me peçam ajuda. Que façam as pazes comigo, sim, que façam as pazes comigo.”
6 [Days] shall come when Jacob shall take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and the face of the world shall be filled with fruit.
6 Está chegando o tempo em que os descendentes de Jacó criarão raízes; Israel brotará e florescerá e encherá de frutos toda a terra!
7 Has he been smitten as he who smote him? [or] has he been slain as those who slew him?
7 Acaso o S enhor feriu Israel como feriu seus inimigos? Destruiu o povo como destruiu seus adversários?
8 In measure, she shall be chastised in her stalks: he stays his rough wind in the day of the east wind.
8 Não, mas os exilou para que lhe prestassem contas; foram exilados de sua terra, como se um vento oriental os tivesse soprado para longe.
9 Therefore, in this manner shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this [shall be] all the fruit, the removal of his sin; when [he] shall return all the stones of the altar, as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder that they may not raise up the groves, or the images of the sun.
9 O S enhor fez isso para purificar Israel de sua perversidade, para remover todo o seu pecado. Por isso, todos os santuários idólatras serão reduzidos a pó; nenhum poste de Aserá ou altar de incenso continuará em pé.
10 Otherwise the defenced city [shall be] made desolate, [and] the habitation shall be forsaken and left like a wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down and consume the branches thereof.
10 As cidades fortificadas ficarão silenciosas e vazias, as casas, abandonadas, as ruas, cobertas de ervas daninhas. Bezerros pastarão ali e mastigarão brotos e ramos.
11 When its boughs are withered, they shall be broken off: women shall come [and] set them on fire: for this [is] not a people of understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will show them no favour.
11 Israel é como os ramos secos de uma árvore, quebrados e usados para acender o fogo sob as panelas; é nação tola e insensata. Por isso, aquele que os criou não terá compaixão nem misericórdia.
12 And it shall come to pass in that day [that] the LORD shall smite from the channel of the river [Euphrates] unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye sons of Israel.
12 Chegará o dia, porém, em que o S enhor os ajuntará como grãos colhidos à mão. Um por um, ele os reunirá, desde o rio Eufrates, no leste, até o ribeiro do Egito, no oeste.
13 And it shall come to pass in that day [that] the great shofar shall be blown, and those who were ready to perish in the land of Assyria and the outcasts in the land of Egypt shall come and worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.:
13 Naquele dia, soará a grande trombeta. Muitos que estavam perecendo no exílio na Assíria e no Egito voltarão a Jerusalém para adorar o S enhor em seu santo monte.
