1 [A] prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, because of all the ignorance.
1 Oração do profeta Habacuc. Em tom de lamentação.
2 O LORD, I have heard thy word [and] was afraid; O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the times; in the midst of the times make it known; in wrath remember mercy.
2 Senhor, eu ouvi a vossa mensagem e enchi-me de temor diante de vossa obra. Fazei-a reviver no decorrer das idades, no decorrer das idades tornai-a manifesta. Em vossa ira, lembrai-vos da misericórdia!
3 God shall come from Teman, and the Holy [One] from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was filled with his praise.
3 Deus vem de Temã, o Santo vem do monte de Farã. Sua majestade cobre os céus, e a terra se enche de sua glória.
4 And [his] brightness was as the light; he had horns [coming] out of his hand; and there [was] hidden his strength.
4 Seu esplendor é deslumbrante como a luz, das suas mãos brotam raios; ali está o véu de seu poder.
5 Before his face went mortality, and burning coals went forth from his feet.
5 A calamidade avança diante dele, a febre ardente lhe segue as pegadas.
6 He stood and measured the earth; he beheld and drove out the Gentiles; and the ancient mountains crumbled, the ancient hills; the ways of the world bowed unto him.
6 Levantando-se, sacode ele a terra, olha e faz tremer as nações. Deslocam-se as montanhas eternas, desfazem-se as colinas antigas, e lhe abrem amplos caminhos!
7 I saw the tents of Cushan as nothing, [and] the curtains of the land of Midian trembled.
7 Vejo em aflição as tendas da Etiópia, tremem os pavilhões de Madiã.
8 Oh LORD, wast thou displeased against the rivers? [was] thine anger against the rivers? [was] thy wrath even against the sea when thou didst ride upon thine horses [and] thy chariots of saving health?
8 Porventura, é contra os rios que se inflama o Senhor, é contra os rios que se desencadeia a vossa ira? Ou é contra o mar que se acende o vosso furor, quando montais em vossos cavalos e em vossos carros triunfais?
9 Thy bow was entirely uncovered, and the oaths unto the tribes, eternal word, when thou didst divide the earth with rivers.
9 Mostra-se desnudado o vosso arco, vossas flechas são as palavras que jurastes, fendeis a terra e dela saem torrentes.
10 The mountains saw thee, [and] they trembled: the overflowing of the waters passed by; the abyss uttered its voice; the deep lifted up its hands.
10 À vossa vista tremem os montes, cai uma tromba-dágua, o abismo faz ouvir a sua voz, e levanta as mãos para o alto.
11 The sun [and] the moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went [and] at the shining of thy glittering spear.
11 O sol e a lua ficam em sua morada, ao verem a luz de vossas flechas que voam, e o brilho fulgurante de vossa lança.
12 Thou didst tread upon the land in wrath; thou didst thresh the Gentiles in anger.
12 Vós calcais a terra em vosso furor, com a vossa cólera esmagais as nações.
13 Thou didst go forth to save thy people, to save with thine anointed; thou didst shatter the head of the house of the wicked by uncovering the foundation unto the neck. Selah.
13 Partistes para a guerra, para a salvação do vosso povo, para a salvação do vosso Ungido. Derrubastes o teto da casa do ímpio, pusestes a nu os seus fundamentos até a base.
14 Thou didst strike through with his staffs the heads of his villages, who as a whirlwind attempted to scatter me; their pride [was] as to devour the poor secretly.
14 Transpassastes com vossas setas a cabeça dos príncipes que se precipitavam para nos dispersar, soltando gritos de alegria, como para devorar o infeliz em seu retiro.
15 Thou didst make a way through the sea for thine horses [through] the heap of great waters.
15 Lançastes vossos cavalos através do mar no turbilhão das muitas águas.
16 When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice; rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in my seat, that I might rest in the day of trouble when he comes up unto the people to destroy them.
16 Ao ouvir esse tumulto, minhas entranhas comoveram-se; ao seu ruído meus lábios tremeram; a cárie penetra nos meus ossos, e meus passos vacilam debaixo de mim. Esperarei em silêncio o dia da aflição, que se há de levantar sobre o povo que nos oprime,
17 Because the fig tree shall not blossom, neither [shall] fruit [be] on the vines; the labour of the olive shall lie, and the cultivated fields shall yield no food; the sheep shall be cut off from the fold, and [there shall be] no herd in the stalls:
17 porque então a figueira não brotará, nulo será o produto das vinhas, faltará o fruto da oliveira, e os campos não darão de comer. Não haverá mais ovelhas no aprisco, nem gado nos estábulos.
18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will joy in the God of my saving health.
18 Eu, porém, regozijar-me-ei no Senhor. Encontrarei minha alegria no Deus de minha salvação.
19 The LORD God [is] my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' [feet], and upon my high places he will cause me to walk victorious in my instruments of music.:
19 Javé, meu Senhor, é minha força; ele torna meus pés ágeis como os da corça, e me faz andar sobre os cimos. Ao mestre do canto. Para instrumentos de corda.
