1 [A] prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, because of all the ignorance.
1 Oração do profeta Habacuque sob a forma de canto.
2 O LORD, I have heard thy word [and] was afraid; O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the times; in the midst of the times make it known; in wrath remember mercy.
2 Senhor , tenho ouvido a tua fama, e me sinto alarmado. Aviva a tua obra, ó no decorrer dos anos, e, no decurso dos anos, faze-a conhecida. Na tua ira, lembra-te da misericórdia.
3 God shall come from Teman, and the Holy [One] from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was filled with his praise.
3 Deus vem de Temã, o Santo vem do monte Parã. A sua glória cobre os céus, e a terra se enche do seu louvor.
4 And [his] brightness was as the light; he had horns [coming] out of his hand; and there [was] hidden his strength.
4 O seu resplendor é como a luz, e raios brilham da sua mão; o seu poder se esconde ali.
5 Before his face went mortality, and burning coals went forth from his feet.
5 Adiante dele vai a peste, e a pestilência segue os seus passos.
6 He stood and measured the earth; he beheld and drove out the Gentiles; and the ancient mountains crumbled, the ancient hills; the ways of the world bowed unto him.
6 Ele para e faz a terra tremer; olha e sacode as nações. Esmigalham-se os montes primitivos; as colinas antigas se abatem. Os caminhos de Deus são eternos.
7 I saw the tents of Cushan as nothing, [and] the curtains of the land of Midian trembled.
7 Vejo as tendas de Cusã em aflição; os acampamentos da terra de Midiã tremem.
8 Oh LORD, wast thou displeased against the rivers? [was] thine anger against the rivers? [was] thy wrath even against the sea when thou didst ride upon thine horses [and] thy chariots of saving health?
8 Acaso é contra os rios, Senhor , que estás irado? É contra os ribeiros a tua ira ou contra o mar, o teu furor, já que andas montado nos teus cavalos, nos teus carros de vitória?
9 Thy bow was entirely uncovered, and the oaths unto the tribes, eternal word, when thou didst divide the earth with rivers.
9 Preparas o teu arco; a tua aljava está cheia de flechas. Tu fendes a terra com rios.
10 The mountains saw thee, [and] they trembled: the overflowing of the waters passed by; the abyss uttered its voice; the deep lifted up its hands.
10 Os montes te veem e se contorcem; torrentes de água passam. As profundezas do mar fazem ouvir a sua voz e levantam bem alto as suas mãos.
11 The sun [and] the moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went [and] at the shining of thy glittering spear.
11 O sol e a lua param nas suas moradas, ao resplandecer a luz das tuas flechas sibilantes, ao fulgor do relâmpago da tua lança.
12 Thou didst tread upon the land in wrath; thou didst thresh the Gentiles in anger.
12 Na tua indignação, marchas pela terra; na tua ira, pisas as nações.
13 Thou didst go forth to save thy people, to save with thine anointed; thou didst shatter the head of the house of the wicked by uncovering the foundation unto the neck. Selah.
13 Tu sais para salvar o teu povo, para salvar o teu ungido. Feres o chefe da casa dos ímpios, deixando-o descoberto dos pés à cabeça.
14 Thou didst strike through with his staffs the heads of his villages, who as a whirlwind attempted to scatter me; their pride [was] as to devour the poor secretly.
14 Traspassas a cabeça dos guerreiros do inimigo com as suas próprias lanças, os quais, como tempestade, avançam para me destruir; alegram-se, como se estivessem para devorar o pobre em segredo.
15 Thou didst make a way through the sea for thine horses [through] the heap of great waters.
15 Marchas com os teus cavalos pelo mar, pela massa de grandes águas.
16 When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice; rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in my seat, that I might rest in the day of trouble when he comes up unto the people to destroy them.
16 Ouvi isso, e o meu íntimo se comoveu; os meus lábios tremeram ao ouvir a sua voz. A podridão entrou nos meus ossos, e os meus joelhos vacilaram, pois, em silêncio, devo esperar o dia da angústia, que virá contra o povo que nos ataca.
17 Because the fig tree shall not blossom, neither [shall] fruit [be] on the vines; the labour of the olive shall lie, and the cultivated fields shall yield no food; the sheep shall be cut off from the fold, and [there shall be] no herd in the stalls:
17 Ainda que a figueira não floresça, nem haja fruto na videira; ainda que a colheita da oliveira decepcione, e os campos não produzam mantimento; ainda que as ovelhas desapareçam do aprisco, e nos currais não haja mais gado,
18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will joy in the God of my saving health.
18 mesmo assim eu me alegro no e exulto no Deus da minha salvação.
19 The LORD God [is] my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' [feet], and upon my high places he will cause me to walk victorious in my instruments of music.:
19 O Senhor Deus é a minha fortaleza. Ele dá aos meus pés a ligeireza das corças, e me faz andar nas minhas alturas. Ao mestre de canto. Para instrumentos de cordas.
