1 [A] prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, because of all the ignorance.
1 O profeta Habacuque entoou esta oração:
2 O LORD, I have heard thy word [and] was afraid; O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the times; in the midst of the times make it known; in wrath remember mercy.
2 Ouvi a teu respeito, S enhor ; estou maravilhado com tuas obras. Neste momento de tanta necessidade, ajuda-nos outra vez, como fizeste no passado. E, em tua ira, lembra-te de tua misericórdia.
3 God shall come from Teman, and the Holy [One] from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was filled with his praise.
3 Vejo Deus atravessar os desertos, vindo de Edom; o Santo vem do monte Parã. Interlúdio Seu esplendor envolve os céus, e a terra se enche de seu louvor.
4 And [his] brightness was as the light; he had horns [coming] out of his hand; and there [was] hidden his strength.
4 Sua vinda é radiante como o nascer do sol; raios de luz saem de suas mãos, onde está escondido seu poder.
5 Before his face went mortality, and burning coals went forth from his feet.
5 A peste marcha adiante dele, e a praga vem logo atrás.
6 He stood and measured the earth; he beheld and drove out the Gentiles; and the ancient mountains crumbled, the ancient hills; the ways of the world bowed unto him.
6 Quando ele para, a terra estremece; quando ele olha, as nações tremem. Ele derruba os montes perpétuos e arrasa as colinas antigas; dele são os caminhos eternos.
7 I saw the tents of Cushan as nothing, [and] the curtains of the land of Midian trembled.
7 Vejo o povo de Cusã em aflição, e a nação de Midiã treme de terror.
8 Oh LORD, wast thou displeased against the rivers? [was] thine anger against the rivers? [was] thy wrath even against the sea when thou didst ride upon thine horses [and] thy chariots of saving health?
8 Foi com ira, S enhor , que feriste os rios e dividiste o mar? Estavas furioso com eles? Não! Vinhas em tuas carruagens vitoriosas!
9 Thy bow was entirely uncovered, and the oaths unto the tribes, eternal word, when thou didst divide the earth with rivers.
9 Pegaste teu arco e tua aljava cheia de flechas e dividiste a terra com rios. Interlúdio
10 The mountains saw thee, [and] they trembled: the overflowing of the waters passed by; the abyss uttered its voice; the deep lifted up its hands.
10 Os montes viram e tremeram, e as águas avançaram com violência. O grande abismo clamou e levantou bem alto as mãos.
11 The sun [and] the moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went [and] at the shining of thy glittering spear.
11 O sol e a lua pararam no céu enquanto tuas flechas brilhantes voavam e tua lança reluzente faiscava.
12 Thou didst tread upon the land in wrath; thou didst thresh the Gentiles in anger.
12 Marchaste pela terra com ira e, furioso, pisaste as nações.
13 Thou didst go forth to save thy people, to save with thine anointed; thou didst shatter the head of the house of the wicked by uncovering the foundation unto the neck. Selah.
13 Saíste para resgatar teu povo, para libertar teus ungidos. Esmagaste a cabeça dos perversos e os descobriste até os ossos.
14 Thou didst strike through with his staffs the heads of his villages, who as a whirlwind attempted to scatter me; their pride [was] as to devour the poor secretly.
14 Com tuas armas destruíste o líder dos que avançaram como um vendaval, pensando que o povo fosse presa fácil.
15 Thou didst make a way through the sea for thine horses [through] the heap of great waters.
15 Marchaste sobre o mar com teus cavalos, e as águas poderosas se agitaram.
16 When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice; rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in my seat, that I might rest in the day of trouble when he comes up unto the people to destroy them.
16 Estremeci por dentro quando ouvi isso; meus lábios tremeram de medo. Minhas pernas vacilaram, e tremi de terror. Esperarei em silêncio pelo dia em que a calamidade virá sobre nossos invasores.
17 Because the fig tree shall not blossom, neither [shall] fruit [be] on the vines; the labour of the olive shall lie, and the cultivated fields shall yield no food; the sheep shall be cut off from the fold, and [there shall be] no herd in the stalls:
17 Ainda que a figueira não floresça e não haja frutos nas videiras, ainda que a colheita de azeitonas não dê em nada e os campos fiquem vazios e improdutivos, ainda que os rebanhos morram nos campos e os currais fiquem vazios,
18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will joy in the God of my saving health.
18 mesmo assim me alegrarei no S enhor ; exultarei no Deus de minha salvação!
19 The LORD God [is] my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' [feet], and upon my high places he will cause me to walk victorious in my instruments of music.:
19 O S enhor Soberano é minha força! Ele torna meus pés firmes como os da corça, para que eu possa andar em lugares altos. (Ao regente do coral: Essa oração deve ser acompanhada por instrumentos de corda.)
