Ezequiel 18

1 The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
1 A palavra do SENHOR veio a mim novamente, dizendo:
2 What mean ye, that ye use this saying concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes and the children's teeth are set on edge?
2 Que quereis vós dizer, usando este provérbio que diz respeito à terra de Israel, dizendo: Os pais comeram uvas azedas, e os dentes dos filhos é que se embotaram?
3 [As] I live, said the Lord GOD, ye shall never again have [reason] to use this saying in Israel.
3 Como eu vivo, diz o Senhor DEUS, não tereis mais ocasião para usarem este provérbio em Israel.
4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine; the soul that sins, it shall die.
4 Eis que todas as almas são minhas; como a alma do pai, assim também a alma do filho é minha; a alma que pecar, essa morrerá.
5 But if a man is just and does judgment and righteousness,
5 Mas se um homem for justo, e fizer aquilo que é lícito e certo,
6 that he does not eat upon the mountains, neither lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither defile his neighbour's wife, neither come near to the menstruous woman,
6 que não come sobre os montes, nem levanta seus olhos para os ídolos da casa de Israel, nem contamina a mulher do seu vizinho, nem chega a uma mulher menstruada,
7 neither oppress any, [but] restores to the debtor his pledge, does not commit robbery, gives his bread to the hungry, and covers the naked with a garment,
7 e não oprime a ninguém, mas restaura ao devedor o seu penhor; não prejudica a ninguém através de violência; dando o seu pão ao faminto e cobrindo ao nu com roupa;
8 neither lends at interest, neither takes any increase, withdraws his hand from iniquity, executes true judgment between man and man,
8 ele não dá sobre usura, nem toma nenhum aumento; que retira sua mão da iniquidade; executando verdadeiro juízo entre homem e homem;
9 walks in my statutes, and keeps my rights, to do according to the truth: he [is] just; he shall surely live, said the Lord GOD.
9 andando nos meus estatutos, e guardado os meus juízos, para lidar verdadeiramente; ele é justo, certamente viverá, diz o Senhor DEUS.
10 If he begets a son [that is] a robber, a shedder of blood, and [that] does the like of [any] one of these [things],
10 Se ele gerar um filho que for ladrão, derramador de sangue, que fizer ao semelhante qualquer uma destas coisas;
11 and that does not do any of those [duties], but, on the other hand, he does eat upon the mountains, or defiles his neighbour's wife,
11 e que não fizer nenhum daqueles deveres, mas que coma sobre os montes, e contamine a mulher do seu vizinho;
12 oppresses the poor and needy, commits robbery, does not restore the pledge, or lifts up his eyes to the idols, or makes an abomination,
12 oprimindo o pobre e necessitado; prejudicando através de violência; não restaurando o penhor, e levantando seus olhos aos ídolos; cometendo abominação;
13 gives forth upon usury and takes increase, shall he then live? He shall not live; he has done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.
13 dando sobre usura, e tomando aumento; ele viverá? Ele não viverá. Aquele que tem feito todas estas abominações, certamente morrerá; seu sangue será sobre ele.
14 But if he begets a son that sees all his father's sins which he has done and seeing them, does not do according to them,
14 Agora, eis que se ele gerar um filho que, vendo todos os pecados cometido por seu pai, e considerar, e não fizer como tal;
15 [that] he does not eat upon the mountains, neither lifts up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, nor defiles his neighbour's wife,
15 que não come sobre os montes, nem levanta os seus olhos para os ídolos da casa de Israel, e não contamina a mulher de seu vizinho,
16 neither oppresses any, nor withholds the pledge, neither commits robbery, [but] gives his bread to the hungry, and covers the naked with a garment,
16 nem oprime a ninguém, e não retém o penhor, nem prejudica através de violência, mas dá seu pão ao faminto, e cobre o nu com roupa,
17 takes off his hand from [oppressing] the poor, does not receive usury nor increase, acts [according to] my rights, and walks in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father; he shall surely live.
17 que tiver retirado a sua mão do pobre, que não recebe usura nem aumento; executando meus juízos; andando em meus estatutos; ele não morrerá pela iniquidade de seu pai, ele certamente viverá.
18 [As for] his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did [that] which [is] not good among his people, behold, even he shall die for his iniquity.
18 Quanto ao seu pai, porque ele cruelmente oprimiu, prejudicou o seu irmão pela violência, e fez aquilo que não é bom entre seu povo, eis que ele morrerá em sua iniquidade.
19 Yet if ye say, Why does not the son bear the iniquity of the father? Because the son has lived according to judgment and righteousness [and] has kept all my statutes and has done them, he shall surely live.
19 Ainda assim dizeis: Por que o filho não carrega a iniquidade do pai? Quando o filho tiver feito aquilo que é lícito e certo, e tiver guardado todos os meus estatutos, e os tiver feito, ele certamente viverá.
20 The soul that sins, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him [who is righteous], and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him [who is wicked].
20 A alma que pecar, essa morrerá; o filho não carregará a iniquidade do pai, nem o pai carregará a iniquidade do filho. A justiça do justo ficará sobre ele, e a perversidade do perverso ficará sobre ele.
21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he has committed and keep all my statutes and live according to judgment and righteousness, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
21 Contudo, se o perverso se desviar de todos os seus pecados que cometeu, e guardar todos os meus estatutos, e fizer aquilo que é lícito e certo, certamente viverá; ele não morrerá.
22 All his rebellions that he has committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him; by his righteousness that he has done he shall live.
22 Todas as suas transgressões que cometeu não serão mencionadas a ele; na sua justiça que fez, ele viverá.
23 Do I desire perchance the death of the wicked? said the Lord GOD, Shall he not live if he should leave his ways?
23 Tenho eu qualquer prazer em que todo o perverso morra? Diz o Senhor DEUS; e não que ele se desvie de seus caminhos, e viva?
24 But if the righteous should leave his righteousness and commit iniquity, [and] do according to all the abominations that the wicked [man] does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be mentioned; by his rebellion in which he has trespassed and by his sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.
24 Mas, quando o justo se afasta da sua justiça e comete a iniquidade, e faz de acordo com as abominações que o homem perverso faz, ele viverá? Todas as suas justiças que ele fez não serão mencionadas; em sua transgressão que ele transgrediu, e em seu pecado que ele pecou, neles ele morrerá.
25 And if ye say, The way of the Lord is not straight. Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not straight? Are not your ways crooked?
25 Ainda assim, dizeis: O caminho do Senhor não é reto. Ouvi agora, ó casa de Israel: Meu caminho não é reto? Não são seus caminhos inconstantes?
26 When a righteous [man] leaves his righteousness, and commits iniquity, he shall die in it; for his iniquity that he has done he shall die.
26 Quando um homem justo se afasta da sua justiça e comete a iniquidade, e morre nela, por causa da sua iniquidade que fez, ele morrerá.
27 Again, when the wicked [man] leaves his wickedness that he has committed and lives according to judgment and righteousness, he shall cause his soul to live.
27 Novamente, quando o homem perverso se desvia da sua perversidade que cometeu, e faz aquilo que é lícito e certo, salvará sua alma viva.
28 Because he saw and left all his rebellions that he has committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
28 Porque ele considera, e se afasta de todas as suas transgressões que cometeu; certamente viverá, não morrerá.
29 If even [now] the house of Israel should say, The way of the Lord is not straight. O house of Israel, are not my ways straight? Certainly your ways are not straight.
29 Ainda assim, diz a casa de Israel: O caminho do Senhor não é reto. Ó casa de Israel, não são retos os meus caminhos? Não são desiguais os vossos caminhos?
30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, each one according to his ways, said the Lord GOD. Repent and turn [yourselves] from all your iniquities, so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
30 Portanto, eu vos julgarei, ó casa de Israel, cada um de acordo com os seus caminhos, diz o Senhor DEUS. Arrependei-vos e desviai-vos de todas as vossas transgressões, assim a iniquidade não será a vossa ruína.
31 Cast away from you all your iniquities by which ye have rebelled, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
31 Lançai de vós todas as vossas transgressões com as quais transgredistes, e fazei-vos um coração novo e um espírito novo; pois, por que morrereis, ó casa de Israel?
32 For I do not desire the death of him that dies, said the Lord GOD; therefore turn [yourselves], and ye shall live.:
32 Pois eu não tenho prazer na morte daquele que morre, diz o Senhor DEUS; portanto, convertei-vos, e vivei.
