1 O LORD my God, in Thee have I taken refuge; save me from all them that pursue me, and deliver me;
1 Ó Senhor , meu Deus, em ti encontro segurança. Salva-me, livra-me de todos os que me perseguem.
2 Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
2 Não permitas que eles, como um leão, me peguem e me despedacem, sem que ninguém possa me salvar.
3 O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;
3 Ó Senhor , meu Deus, se tenho feito qualquer uma destas coisas: se cometi alguma injustiça contra alguém,
4 If I have requited him that did evil unto me, or spoiled mine adversary unto emptiness;
4 se traí um amigo, se cometi sem motivo alguma violência contra o meu inimigo,
5 Let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it, and tread my life down to the earth; yea, let him lay my glory in the dust. Selah
5 então que os meus inimigos me persigam e me agarrem! Que eles me deixem caído no chão, morto, e largado sem vida no pó!
6 Arise, O LORD, in Thine anger, lift up Thyself in indignation against mine adversaries; yea, awake for me at the judgment which Thou hast commanded.
6 Ó Senhor , levanta-te com ira e enfrenta a fúria dos meus inimigos! Levanta-te e ajuda-me, porque tu exiges que a justiça seja feita.
7 And let the congregation of the peoples compass Thee about, and over them return Thou on high.
7 Ajunta todos os povos em volta de ti e, de cima, reina sobre eles.
8 O LORD, who ministerest judgment to the peoples, judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
8 Ó Senhor Deus, tu és o juiz de todas as pessoas. Julga a meu favor, pois sou inocente e correto.
9 Oh that a full measure of evil might come upon the wicked, and that Thou wouldest establish the righteous; for the righteous God trieth the heart and reins.
9 Eu te peço que acabes com a maldade dos maus e que recompenses os que são direitos. Pois tu és Deus justo e julgas os nossos pensamentos e desejos.
10 My shield is with God, who saveth the upright in heart.
10 Deus me protege como um escudo ; ele salva os que são honestos de verdade.
11 God is a righteous judge, yea, a God that hath indignation every day:
11 Deus é um juiz justo; todos os dias ele condena os maus.
12 If a man turn not, He will whet His sword, He hath bent His bow, and made it ready;
12 Se eles não se arrependerem, Deus afiará a sua espada. Ele já armou o seu arco para disparar flechas.
13 He hath also prepared for him the weapons of death, yea, His arrows which He made sharp.
13 Ele pega as suas armas mortais e atira as suas flechas de fogo.
14 Behold, he travaileth with iniquity; yea, he conceiveth mischief, and bringeth forth falsehood.
14 Vejam como os maus imaginam maldades. Eles planejam desgraças e vivem mentindo.
15 He hath digged a pit, and hollowed it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
15 Armam armadilhas para pegarem os outros, mas eles mesmos caem nelas.
16 His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violence shall come down upon his own pate.
16 Assim eles são castigados pela sua própria maldade, são feridos pela sua própria violência.
17 I will give thanks unto the LORD according to His righteousness; and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
17 Eu, porém, agradecerei a Deus a sua justiça e cantarei louvores ao o Deus Altíssimo.
