¹ For the Leader. A Psalm of David. In the LORD have I taken refuge; how say ye to my soul: 'Flee thou! to your mountain, ye birds'?

¹ Ao mestre de canto. De Davi. É junto do Senhor que procuro refúgio. Por que dizer-me: Foge, velozmente, para a montanha, como um pássaro;

² For, lo, the wicked bend the bow, they have made ready their arrow upon the string, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

² eis que os maus entesam seu arco, ajustam a flecha na corda, para ferir, de noite, os que têm o coração reto.

³ When the foundations are destroyed, what hath the righteous wrought?

³ Quando os próprios fundamentos se abalam, que pode fazer ainda o justo?

⁴ The LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD, His throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the children of men.

⁴ Entretanto, o Senhor habita em seu templo, o Senhor tem seu trono no céu. Sua vista está atenta, seus olhares observam os filhos dos homens.

⁵ The LORD trieth the righteous; but the wicked and him that loveth violence His soul hateth.

⁵ O Senhor sonda o justo como o ímpio, mas aquele que ama a injustiça, ele o aborrece.

⁶ Upon the wicked He will cause to rain coals; fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.

⁶ Sobre os ímpios ele fará cair uma chuva de fogo e de enxofre; um vento abrasador de procela será o seu quinhão.

⁷ For the LORD is righteous, He loveth righteousness; the upright shall behold His face.

⁷ Porque o Senhor é justo, ele ama a justiça; e os homens retos contemplarão a sua face.
