¹ For the Leader. A Psalm of David. In the LORD have I taken refuge; how say ye to my soul: 'Flee thou! to your mountain, ye birds'?

¹ No Senhor me refugio. Como dizeis, pois, à minha alma: Foge, como pássaro, para o teu monte?

² For, lo, the wicked bend the bow, they have made ready their arrow upon the string, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

² Porque eis aí os ímpios, armam o arco, dispõem a sua flecha na corda, para, às ocultas, dispararem contra os retos de coração.

³ When the foundations are destroyed, what hath the righteous wrought?

³ Ora, destruídos os fundamentos, que poderá fazer o justo?

⁴ The LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD, His throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the children of men.

⁴ O Senhor está no seu santo templo; nos céus tem o os seus olhos estão atentos, as suas pálpebras sondam os filhos dos homens.

⁵ The LORD trieth the righteous; but the wicked and him that loveth violence His soul hateth.

⁵ O Senhor põe à prova ao justo e ao ímpio; mas, ao que ama a violência, a sua alma o abomina.

⁶ Upon the wicked He will cause to rain coals; fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.

⁶ Fará chover sobre os perversos brasas de fogo e enxofre, e vento abrasador será a parte do seu cálice.

⁷ For the LORD is righteous, He loveth righteousness; the upright shall behold His face.

⁷ Porque o Senhor é justo, ele ama a justiça; os retos lhe contemplarão a face.
