1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David. In the LORD have I taken refuge; how say ye to my soul: 'Flee thou! to your mountain, ye birds'?
1 Ao Músico-chefe, Salmo de Davi. No SENHOR eu ponho minha confiança; como dizeis para a minha alma: Fugi como um pássaro para o vosso monte?
2 For, lo, the wicked bend the bow, they have made ready their arrow upon the string, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
2 Porque eis que os perversos curvam seu arco, eles deixam sua flecha pronta sobre a corda, para que eles possam secretamente atirar nos retos de coração.
3 When the foundations are destroyed, what hath the righteous wrought?
3 Se os fundamentos forem destruídos, o que pode fazer o justo?
4 The LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD, His throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the children of men.
4 O SENHOR está no seu santo templo, o trono do SENHOR está no céu; os seus olhos contemplam, e as suas pálpebras provam os filhos dos homens.
5 The LORD trieth the righteous; but the wicked and him that loveth violence His soul hateth.
5 O SENHOR prova o justo; porém ao perverso e àquele que ama a violência, odeia a sua alma.
6 Upon the wicked He will cause to rain coals; fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.
6 Sobre os perversos ele fará chover laços, fogo, enxofre e uma horrível tempestade; isto será a porção do seu copo.
7 For the LORD is righteous, He loveth righteousness; the upright shall behold His face.
7 Porque o justo SENHOR ama a justiça; o seu semblante contempla os retos.
