1 Why standest Thou afar off, O LORD? Why hidest Thou Thyself in times of trouble?
1 Por que, Senhor , te conservas longe? E te escondes nas horas de tribulação?
2 Through the pride of the wicked the poor is hotly pursued, they are taken in the devices that they have imagined.
2 Com arrogância, os ímpios perseguem o pobre; sejam presas das tramas que urdiram.
3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and the covetous vaunteth himself, though he contemn the LORD.
3 Pois o perverso se gloria da cobiça de sua alma, o avarento maldiz o
4 The wicked, in the pride of his countenance , saith : 'He will not require'; all his thoughts are: 'There is no God.'
4 O perverso, na sua soberba, não investiga; que não há Deus são todas as suas cogitações.
5 His ways prosper at all times; Thy judgments are far above out of his sight; as for all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.
5 São prósperos os seus caminhos em todo tempo; muito acima e longe dele estão os teus juízos; quanto aos seus adversários, ele a todos ridiculiza.
6 He saith in his heart: 'I shall not be moved, I who to all generations shall not be in adversity.'
6 Pois diz lá no seu íntimo: Jamais serei abalado; de geração em geração, nenhum mal me sobrevirá.
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.
7 A boca, ele a tem cheia de maldição, enganos e opressão; debaixo da língua, insulto e iniquidade.
8 He sitteth in the lurking-places of the villages; in secret places doth he slay the innocent; his eyes are on the watch for the helpless.
8 Põe-se de tocaia nas vilas, trucida os inocentes nos lugares ocultos; seus olhos espreitam o desamparado.
9 He lieth in wait in a secret place as a lion in his lair, he lieth in wait to catch the poor; he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him up in his net.
9 Está ele de emboscada, como o leão na sua caverna; está de emboscada para enlaçar o pobre: apanha-o e, na sua rede, o enleia.
10 He croucheth, he boweth down, and the helpless fall into his mighty claws.
10 Abaixa-se, rasteja; em seu poder, lhe caem os necessitados.
11 He hath said in his heart: 'God hath forgotten; He hideth His face; He will never see.'
11 Diz ele, no seu íntimo: Deus se esqueceu, virou o rosto e não verá isto nunca.
12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up Thy hand; forget not the humble.
12 Levanta-te, Senhor ! Ó Deus, ergue a mão! Não te esqueças dos pobres.
13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God, and say in his heart: 'Thou wilt not require'?
13 Por que razão despreza o ímpio a Deus, dizendo no seu íntimo que Deus não se importa?
14 Thou hast seen; for Thou beholdest trouble and vexation, to requite them with Thy hand; unto Thee the helpless committeth himself; Thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.
14 Tu, porém, o tens visto, porque atentas aos trabalhos e à dor, para que os possas tomar em tuas mãos. A ti se entrega o desamparado; tu tens sido o defensor do órfão.
15 Break Thou the arm of the wicked; and as for the evil man, search out his wickedness, till none be found.
15 Quebranta o braço do perverso e do malvado; esquadrinha-lhes a maldade, até nada mais achares.
16 The LORD is King for ever and ever; the nations are perished out of His land.
16 O Senhor é rei eterno: da sua terra somem-se as nações.
17 LORD, Thou hast heard the desire of the humble: Thou wilt direct their heart, Thou wilt cause Thine ear to attend;
17 Tens ouvido, Senhor , o desejo dos humildes; tu lhes fortalecerás o coração e lhes acudirás,
18 To right the fatherless and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may be terrible no more.
18 para fazeres justiça ao órfão e ao oprimido, a fim de que o homem, que é da terra, já não infunda terror.
