4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.

7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.

9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.

10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.

11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 ¡Ja-amsfʉlde, japi Dios tataefʉlas xot, isfʉlpi pachaempoxan! Japi Dios kawʉajan wʉt, Dios chiekal naewech. Pelax Dios kastikaxael jiw, babijaxan ispi” —aech Dios pejjamechan, chajia lelspox.
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 Isfʉlam wʉt pachaempoxan, ja-am wʉt, asew jiw isaxil babijaxan xamalliajwa.
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Pe nakiowa, xamal nabijatam wʉt, asew jiw is xot babijax xamalliajwa, ¡chiekal nejchachaemilde! ¡Xamal nabej nejlewle'bej japi jiwliajwa!
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 ¡Pelax Cristo sitaem, wajpaklon xot! Nejchaxoelam wʉt, ¡majt chiekal nejchaxoelde jʉmnosliajwam, asew jiw xamal wʉajnachaemt wʉt Dios xanaboejampoxanliajwa!
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.

16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.

17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Cristo nabijat, Dios nejxasink xot japon nabijasliajwa. Tʉpbejpon xatisliajwa. Japon tʉp wʉt, japox kaevecesliajwa, pomatkoichaliajwabejpox. Samata, pejme tʉpaxilon. Japon kaen xabich pachaem. 18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.

20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.

21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
