1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme of David, when the Prophet Nathan came unto him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba. Have mercie vpon me, O God, according to thy louing kindnes: according to the multitude of thy compassions put away mine iniquities.
1 Ao Músico-chefe, Salmo de Davi, quando o profeta Natã veio a ele, depois dele ter estado com Bate-Seba. Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Deus, segundo a tua benignidade, segundo a multidão das tuas tenras misericórdias, apaga as minhas transgressões.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquitie, and clense me from my sinne.
2 Lava-me completamente de minha iniquidade, e limpa-me do meu pecado.
3 For I know mine iniquities, and my sinne is euer before me.
3 Porque eu reconheço as minhas transgressões, e o meu pecado está sempre diante de mim.
4 Against thee, against thee onely haue I sinned, and done euill in thy sight, that thou mayest be iust when thou speakest, and pure when thou iudgest.
4 Contra ti, somente contra ti eu pequei, e cometi este mal à tua vista; para que tu pudesses ser justificado quando falares, e ser claro quando julgares.
5 Beholde, I was borne in iniquitie, and in sinne hath my mother conceiued me.
5 Eis que fui moldado na iniquidade, e em pecado minha mãe me concebeu.
6 Beholde, thou louest trueth in the inwarde affections: therefore hast thou taught mee wisedome in the secret of mine heart.
6 Eis que tu desejas a verdade no íntimo, e na parte escondida tu me farás conhecer a sabedoria.
7 Purge me with hyssope, and I shalbe cleane: wash me, and I shalbe whiter then snowe.
7 Purifica-me com hissopo, e serei limpo; lava-me, e ficarei mais branco do que a neve.
8 Make me to heare ioye and gladnes, that the bones, which thou hast broken, may reioyce.
8 Faz-me ouvir a felicidade e a alegria; que os ossos que tu quebraste possam se regozijar.
9 Hide thy face from my sinnes, and put away all mine iniquities.
9 Esconde a tua face dos meus pecados, e apaga todas as minhas iniquidades.
10 Create in mee a cleane heart, O God, and renue a right spirit within me.
10 Cria em mim um coração limpo, ó Deus, e renova um espírito correto dentro de mim.
11 Cast mee not away from thy presence, and take not thine holy Spirit from me.
11 Não me expulses da tua presença, e não toma de mim o teu santo Espírito.
12 Restore to me the ioy of thy saluation, and stablish me with thy free Spirit.
12 Restaura-me a alegria da tua salvação, e sustém-me com um espírito livre.
13 Then shall I teache thy wayes vnto the wicked, and sinners shalbe conuerted vnto thee.
13 Então ensinarei aos transgressores os teus caminhos; e os pecadores se converterão a ti.
14 Deliuer me from blood, O God, which art the God of my saluation, and my tongue shall sing ioyfully of thy righteousnes.
14 Livra-me dos crimes de sangue, ó Deus, tu Deus da minha salvação, e a minha língua cantará alto a tua justiça.
15 Open thou my lippes, O Lord, and my mouth shall shewe foorth thy praise.
15 Ó Senhor, abre os meus lábios, e a minha boca manifestará o teu louvor.
16 For thou desirest no sacrifice, though I would giue it: thou delitest not in burnt offering.
16 Pois tu não desejas sacrifício, senão eu o daria; tu não te agradas com ofertas queimadas.
17 The sacrifices of God are a contrite spirit: a contrite and a broken heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
17 Os sacrifícios para Deus são um espírito quebrantado; um coração quebrantado e contrito, ó Deus, tu não desprezarás.
18 Bee fauourable vnto Zion for thy good pleasure: builde the walles of Ierusalem.
18 Faz o bem em teu bom prazer a Sião; constrói tu os muros de Jerusalém.
19 Then shalt thou accept ye sacrifices of righteousnes, euen the burnt offering and oblation: then shall they offer calues vpon thine altar.
19 Então te agradarás com os sacrifícios de justiça, com a oferta queimada e a oferta queimada por inteiro; então oferecerão novilhos sobre o teu altar.
