1 Then resorted vnto him all the Publicanes and sinners, to heare him.
1 Todos os publicanos e "pecadores" estavam se reunindo para ouvi-lo.
2 Therefore the Pharises and Scribes murmured, saying, Hee receiueth sinners, and eateth with them.
2 Mas os fariseus e os mestres da lei o criticavam: "Este homem recebe pecadores e come com eles".
3 Then spake hee this parable to them, saying,
3 Então Jesus lhes contou esta parábola:
4 What man of you hauing an hundreth sheepe, if hee lose one of them, doeth not leaue ninetie and nine in the wildernesse, and goe after that which is lost, vntill he finde it?
4 "Qual de vocês que, possuindo cem ovelhas, e perdendo uma, não deixa as noventa e nove no campo e vai atrás da ovelha perdida, até encontrá-la?
5 And when he hath found it, he laieth it on his shoulders with ioye.
5 E quando a encontra, coloca-a alegremente sobre os ombros
6 And when he commeth home, he calleth together his friendes and neighbours, saying vnto them, Reioyce with mee: for I haue founde my sheepe which was lost.
6 e vai para casa. Ao chegar, reúne seus amigos e vizinhos e diz: ‘Alegrem-se comigo, pois encontrei minha ovelha perdida’.
7 I say vnto you, that likewise ioy shall be in heauen for one sinner that conuerteth, more then for ninetie and nine iust men, which neede none amendment of life.
7 Eu lhes digo que, da mesma forma, haverá mais alegria no céu por um pecador que se arrepende do que por noventa e nove justos que não precisam arrepender-se".
8 Either what woman hauing ten groates, if she lose one groate, doth not light a candle, and sweepe the house, and seeke diligently till shee finde it?
8 "Ou, qual é a mulher que, possuindo dez dracmas e, perdendo uma delas, não acende uma candeia, varre a casa e procura atentamente, até encontrá-la?
9 And when shee hath found it, shee calleth her friendes, and neighbours, saying, Reioyce with me: for I haue found the groate which I had lost.
9 E quando a encontra, reúne suas amigas e vizinhas e diz: ‘Alegrem-se comigo, pois encontrei minha moeda perdida’.
10 Likewise I say vnto you, there is ioy in the presence of the Angels of God, for one sinner that conuerteth.
10 Eu lhes digo que, da mesma forma, há alegria na presença dos anjos de Deus por um pecador que se arrepende".
11 He sayde moreouer, A certaine man had two sonnes.
11 Jesus continuou: "Um homem tinha dois filhos.
12 And the yonger of them sayde to his father, Father, giue mee the portion of the goods that falleth to mee. So he deuided vnto them his substance.
12 O mais novo disse ao seu pai: ‘Pai, quero a minha parte da herança’. Assim, ele repartiu sua propriedade entre eles.
13 So not many daies after, when the yonger sonne had gathered all together, hee tooke his iourney into a farre countrey, and there hee wasted his goods with riotous liuing.
13 "Não muito tempo depois, o filho mais novo reuniu tudo o que tinha, e foi para uma região distante; e lá desperdiçou os seus bens vivendo irresponsavelmente.
14 Nowe when hee had spent all, there arose a great dearth throughout that land, and he began to be in necessitie.
14 Depois de ter gasto tudo, houve uma grande fome em toda aquela região, e ele começou a passar necessidade.
15 Then hee went and claue to a citizen of that conntrey, and hee sent him to his farme, to feede swine.
15 Por isso foi empregar-se com um dos cidadãos daquela região, que o mandou para o seu campo a fim de cuidar de porcos.
16 And hee would faine haue filled his bellie with the huskes, that the swine ate: but no man gaue them him.
16 Ele desejava encher o estômago com as vagens de alfarrobeira que os porcos comiam, mas ninguém lhe dava nada.
17 Then he came to him selfe, and said, Howe many hired seruaunts at my fathers haue bread ynough, and I die for hunger?
17 "Caindo em si, ele disse: ‘Quantos empregados de meu pai têm comida de sobra, e eu aqui, morrendo de fome!
18 I wil rise and goe to my father, and say vnto him, Father, I haue sinned against heaue, and before thee,
18 Eu me porei a caminho e voltarei para meu pai, e lhe direi: Pai, pequei contra o céu e contra ti.
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy sonne: make me as one of thy hired seruants.
19 Não sou mais digno de ser chamado teu filho; trata-me como um dos teus empregados’.
20 So hee arose and came to his father, and when hee was yet a great way off, his father sawe him, and had compassion, and ranne and fell on his necke, and kissed him.
20 A seguir, levantou-se e foi para seu pai. "Estando ainda longe, seu pai o viu e, cheio de compaixão, correu para seu filho, e o abraçou e beijou.
21 And the sonne sayde vnto him, Father, I haue sinned against heauen, and before thee, and am no more worthie to be called thy sonne.
21 "O filho lhe disse: ‘Pai, pequei contra o céu e contra ti. Não sou mais digno de ser chamado teu filho’.
22 Then the father said to his seruaunts, Bring foorth the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feete,
22 "Mas o pai disse aos seus servos: ‘Depressa! Tragam a melhor roupa e vistam nele. Coloquem um anel em seu dedo e calçados em seus pés.
23 And bring the fat calfe, and kill him, and let vs eate, and be merie:
23 Tragam o novilho gordo e matem-no. Vamos fazer uma festa e comemorar.
24 For this my sonne was dead, and is aliue againe: and he was lost, but he is found. And they began to be merie.
24 Pois este meu filho estava morto e voltou à vida; estava perdido e foi achado’. E começaram a festejar.
25 Nowe the elder brother was in the fielde, and when he came and drewe neere to the house, he heard melodie, and dauncing,
25 "Enquanto isso, o filho mais velho estava no campo. Quando se aproximou da casa, ouviu a música e a dança.
26 And called one of his seruaunts, and asked what those things meant.
26 Então chamou um dos servos e perguntou-lhe o que estava acontecendo.
27 And hee sayde vnto him, Thy brother is come, and thy father hath killed the fatte calfe, because he hath receiued him safe and sound.
27 Este lhe respondeu: ‘Seu irmão voltou, e seu pai matou o novilho gordo, porque o recebeu de volta são e salvo’.
28 Then he was angry, and would not goe in: therefore came his father out and entreated him.
28 "O filho mais velho encheu-se de ira, e não quis entrar. Então seu pai saiu e insistiu com ele.
29 But he answered and said to his father, Loe, these many yeeres haue I done thee seruice, neither brake I at any time thy commadement, and yet thou neuer gauest mee a kidde that I might make merie with my friends.
29 Mas ele respondeu ao seu pai: ‘Olha! todos esses anos tenho trabalhado como um escravo ao teu serviço e nunca desobedeci às tuas ordens. Mas tu nunca me deste nem um cabrito para eu festejar com os meus amigos.
30 But when this thy sonne was come, which hath deuoured thy good with harlots, thou hast for his sake killed the fat calfe.
30 Mas quando volta para casa esse seu filho, que esbanjou os teus bens com as prostitutas, matas o novilho gordo para ele! ’
31 And he said vnto him, Sonne, thou art euer with me, and al that I haue, is thine. It was meete that we shoulde make merie, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is aliue againe: and hee was lost, but he is found.
31 "Disse o pai: ‘Meu filho, você está sempre comigo, e tudo o que tenho é seu.
32 — ausente —
32 Mas nós tínhamos que comemorar e alegrar-nos, porque este seu irmão estava morto e voltou à vida, estava perdido e foi achado’ ".
