1 Then resorted vnto him all the Publicanes and sinners, to heare him.
1 Aproximavam-se de Jesus todos os publicanos e pecadores para o ouvir.
2 Therefore the Pharises and Scribes murmured, saying, Hee receiueth sinners, and eateth with them.
2 E murmuravam os fariseus e os escribas, dizendo: Este recebe pecadores e come com eles.
3 Then spake hee this parable to them, saying,
3 Então, lhes propôs Jesus esta parábola:
4 What man of you hauing an hundreth sheepe, if hee lose one of them, doeth not leaue ninetie and nine in the wildernesse, and goe after that which is lost, vntill he finde it?
4 Qual, dentre vós, é o homem que, possuindo cem ovelhas e perdendo uma delas, não deixa no deserto as noventa e nove e vai em busca da que se perdeu, até encontrá-la?
5 And when he hath found it, he laieth it on his shoulders with ioye.
5 Achando-a, põe-na sobre os ombros, cheio de júbilo.
6 And when he commeth home, he calleth together his friendes and neighbours, saying vnto them, Reioyce with mee: for I haue founde my sheepe which was lost.
6 E, indo para casa, reúne os amigos e vizinhos, dizendo-lhes: Alegrai-vos comigo, porque já achei a minha ovelha perdida.
7 I say vnto you, that likewise ioy shall be in heauen for one sinner that conuerteth, more then for ninetie and nine iust men, which neede none amendment of life.
7 Digo-vos que, assim, haverá maior júbilo no céu por um pecador que se arrepende do que por noventa e nove justos que não necessitam de arrependimento.
8 Either what woman hauing ten groates, if she lose one groate, doth not light a candle, and sweepe the house, and seeke diligently till shee finde it?
8 Ou qual é a mulher que, tendo dez dracmas, se perder uma, não acende a candeia, varre a casa e a procura diligentemente até encontrá-la?
9 And when shee hath found it, shee calleth her friendes, and neighbours, saying, Reioyce with me: for I haue found the groate which I had lost.
9 E, tendo-a achado, reúne as amigas e vizinhas, dizendo: Alegrai-vos comigo, porque achei a dracma que eu tinha perdido.
10 Likewise I say vnto you, there is ioy in the presence of the Angels of God, for one sinner that conuerteth.
10 Eu vos afirmo que, de igual modo, há júbilo diante dos anjos de Deus por um pecador que se arrepende.
11 He sayde moreouer, A certaine man had two sonnes.
11 Continuou: Certo homem tinha dois filhos;
12 And the yonger of them sayde to his father, Father, giue mee the portion of the goods that falleth to mee. So he deuided vnto them his substance.
12 o mais moço deles disse ao pai: Pai, dá-me a parte dos bens que me cabe. E ele lhes repartiu os haveres.
13 So not many daies after, when the yonger sonne had gathered all together, hee tooke his iourney into a farre countrey, and there hee wasted his goods with riotous liuing.
13 Passados não muitos dias, o filho mais moço, ajuntando tudo o que era seu, partiu para uma terra distante e lá dissipou todos os seus bens, vivendo dissolutamente.
14 Nowe when hee had spent all, there arose a great dearth throughout that land, and he began to be in necessitie.
14 Depois de ter consumido tudo, sobreveio àquele país uma grande fome, e ele começou a passar necessidade.
15 Then hee went and claue to a citizen of that conntrey, and hee sent him to his farme, to feede swine.
15 Então, ele foi e se agregou a um dos cidadãos daquela terra, e este o mandou para os seus campos a guardar porcos.
16 And hee would faine haue filled his bellie with the huskes, that the swine ate: but no man gaue them him.
16 Ali, desejava ele fartar-se das alfarrobas que os porcos comiam; mas ninguém lhe dava nada.
17 Then he came to him selfe, and said, Howe many hired seruaunts at my fathers haue bread ynough, and I die for hunger?
17 Então, caindo em si, disse: Quantos trabalhadores de meu pai têm pão com fartura, e eu aqui morro de fome!
18 I wil rise and goe to my father, and say vnto him, Father, I haue sinned against heaue, and before thee,
18 Levantar-me-ei, e irei ter com o meu pai, e lhe direi: Pai, pequei contra o céu e diante de ti;
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy sonne: make me as one of thy hired seruants.
19 já não sou digno de ser chamado teu filho; trata-me como um dos teus trabalhadores.
20 So hee arose and came to his father, and when hee was yet a great way off, his father sawe him, and had compassion, and ranne and fell on his necke, and kissed him.
20 E, levantando-se, foi para seu pai. Vinha ele ainda longe, quando seu pai o avistou, e, compadecido dele, correndo, o abraçou, e beijou.
21 And the sonne sayde vnto him, Father, I haue sinned against heauen, and before thee, and am no more worthie to be called thy sonne.
21 E o filho lhe disse: Pai, pequei contra o céu e diante de ti; já não sou digno de ser chamado teu filho.
22 Then the father said to his seruaunts, Bring foorth the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feete,
22 O pai, porém, disse aos seus servos: Trazei depressa a melhor roupa, vesti-o, ponde-lhe um anel no dedo e sandálias nos pés;
23 And bring the fat calfe, and kill him, and let vs eate, and be merie:
23 trazei também e matai o novilho cevado. Comamos e regozijemo-nos,
24 For this my sonne was dead, and is aliue againe: and he was lost, but he is found. And they began to be merie.
24 porque este meu filho estava morto e reviveu, estava perdido e foi achado. E começaram a regozijar-se.
25 Nowe the elder brother was in the fielde, and when he came and drewe neere to the house, he heard melodie, and dauncing,
25 Ora, o filho mais velho estivera no campo; e, quando voltava, ao aproximar-se da casa, ouviu a música e as danças.
26 And called one of his seruaunts, and asked what those things meant.
26 Chamou um dos criados e perguntou-lhe que era aquilo.
27 And hee sayde vnto him, Thy brother is come, and thy father hath killed the fatte calfe, because he hath receiued him safe and sound.
27 E ele informou: Veio teu irmão, e teu pai mandou matar o novilho cevado, porque o recuperou com saúde.
28 Then he was angry, and would not goe in: therefore came his father out and entreated him.
28 Ele se indignou e não queria entrar; saindo, porém, o pai, procurava conciliá-lo.
29 But he answered and said to his father, Loe, these many yeeres haue I done thee seruice, neither brake I at any time thy commadement, and yet thou neuer gauest mee a kidde that I might make merie with my friends.
29 Mas ele respondeu a seu pai: Há tantos anos que te sirvo sem jamais transgredir uma ordem tua, e nunca me deste um cabrito sequer para alegrar-me com os meus amigos;
30 But when this thy sonne was come, which hath deuoured thy good with harlots, thou hast for his sake killed the fat calfe.
30 vindo, porém, esse teu filho, que desperdiçou os teus bens com meretrizes, tu mandaste matar para ele o novilho cevado.
31 And he said vnto him, Sonne, thou art euer with me, and al that I haue, is thine. It was meete that we shoulde make merie, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is aliue againe: and hee was lost, but he is found.
31 Então, lhe respondeu o pai: Meu filho, tu sempre estás comigo; tudo o que é meu é teu.
32 — ausente —
32 Entretanto, era preciso que nos regozijássemos e nos alegrássemos, porque esse teu irmão estava morto e reviveu, estava perdido e foi achado.
