1 Then resorted vnto him all the Publicanes and sinners, to heare him.
1 Aproximavam-se de Jesus todos os publicanos e pecadores para o ouvir.
2 Therefore the Pharises and Scribes murmured, saying, Hee receiueth sinners, and eateth with them.
2 Os fariseus e os escribas murmuravam, dizendo: — Este recebe pecadores e come com eles.
3 Then spake hee this parable to them, saying,
3 Então Jesus lhes contou esta parábola:
4 What man of you hauing an hundreth sheepe, if hee lose one of them, doeth not leaue ninetie and nine in the wildernesse, and goe after that which is lost, vntill he finde it?
4 — Qual de vocês é o homem que, possuindo cem ovelhas e perdendo uma delas, não deixa no deserto as noventa e nove e vai em busca da que se perdeu, até encontrá-la?
5 And when he hath found it, he laieth it on his shoulders with ioye.
5 E, quando a encontra, põe-na sobre os ombros, cheio de alegria.
6 And when he commeth home, he calleth together his friendes and neighbours, saying vnto them, Reioyce with mee: for I haue founde my sheepe which was lost.
6 E, indo para casa, reúne os amigos e vizinhos, dizendo-lhes: “Alegrem-se comigo, porque já achei a minha ovelha perdida.”
7 I say vnto you, that likewise ioy shall be in heauen for one sinner that conuerteth, more then for ninetie and nine iust men, which neede none amendment of life.
7 Digo a vocês que, assim, haverá mais alegria no céu por um pecador que se arrepende do que por noventa e nove justos que não necessitam de arrependimento.
8 Either what woman hauing ten groates, if she lose one groate, doth not light a candle, and sweepe the house, and seeke diligently till shee finde it?
8 — Ou qual é a mulher que, tendo dez dracmas, se perder uma delas, não acende a lamparina, varre a casa e a procura com muito empenho até encontrá-la?
9 And when shee hath found it, shee calleth her friendes, and neighbours, saying, Reioyce with me: for I haue found the groate which I had lost.
9 E, quando a encontra, reúne as amigas e vizinhas, dizendo: “Alegrem-se comigo, porque achei a dracma que eu tinha perdido.”
10 Likewise I say vnto you, there is ioy in the presence of the Angels of God, for one sinner that conuerteth.
10 Eu afirmo a vocês que a mesma alegria existe diante dos anjos de Deus por um pecador que se arrepende.
11 He sayde moreouer, A certaine man had two sonnes.
11 Jesus continuou:
12 And the yonger of them sayde to his father, Father, giue mee the portion of the goods that falleth to mee. So he deuided vnto them his substance.
12 O mais moço deles disse ao pai: “Pai, quero que o senhor me dê a parte dos bens que me cabe.” E o pai repartiu os bens entre eles.
13 So not many daies after, when the yonger sonne had gathered all together, hee tooke his iourney into a farre countrey, and there hee wasted his goods with riotous liuing.
13 — Passados não muitos dias, o filho mais moço, ajuntando tudo o que era seu, partiu para uma terra distante e lá desperdiçou todos os seus bens, vivendo de forma desenfreada.
14 Nowe when hee had spent all, there arose a great dearth throughout that land, and he began to be in necessitie.
14 — Depois de ter consumido tudo, sobreveio àquele país uma grande fome, e ele começou a passar necessidade.
15 Then hee went and claue to a citizen of that conntrey, and hee sent him to his farme, to feede swine.
15 Então foi pedir trabalho a um dos cidadãos daquela terra, e este o mandou para os seus campos a fim de cuidar dos porcos.
16 And hee would faine haue filled his bellie with the huskes, that the swine ate: but no man gaue them him.
16 Ali, ele desejava alimentar-se das alfarrobas que os porcos comiam, mas ninguém lhe dava nada.
17 Then he came to him selfe, and said, Howe many hired seruaunts at my fathers haue bread ynough, and I die for hunger?
17 Então, caindo em si, disse: “Quantos trabalhadores de meu pai têm pão com fartura, e eu aqui estou morrendo de fome!
18 I wil rise and goe to my father, and say vnto him, Father, I haue sinned against heaue, and before thee,
18 Vou me arrumar, voltar para o meu pai e lhe dizer: ‘Pai, pequei contra Deus e diante do senhor;
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy sonne: make me as one of thy hired seruants.
19 já não sou digno de ser chamado de seu filho; trate-me como um dos seus trabalhadores.’”
20 So hee arose and came to his father, and when hee was yet a great way off, his father sawe him, and had compassion, and ranne and fell on his necke, and kissed him.
20 E, arrumando-se, foi para o seu pai.
21 And the sonne sayde vnto him, Father, I haue sinned against heauen, and before thee, and am no more worthie to be called thy sonne.
21 E o filho lhe disse: “Pai, pequei contra Deus e diante do senhor; já não sou digno de ser chamado de seu filho.”
22 Then the father said to his seruaunts, Bring foorth the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feete,
22 O pai, porém, disse aos servos: “Tragam depressa a melhor roupa e vistam nele. Ponham um anel no dedo dele e sandálias nos pés.
23 And bring the fat calfe, and kill him, and let vs eate, and be merie:
23 Tragam e matem o bezerro gordo. Vamos comer e festejar,
24 For this my sonne was dead, and is aliue againe: and he was lost, but he is found. And they began to be merie.
24 porque este meu filho estava morto e reviveu, estava perdido e foi achado.” E começaram a festejar.
25 Nowe the elder brother was in the fielde, and when he came and drewe neere to the house, he heard melodie, and dauncing,
25 — Ora, o filho mais velho estava no campo. Quando voltava, ao aproximar-se da casa, ouviu a música e as danças.
26 And called one of his seruaunts, and asked what those things meant.
26 Chamou um dos empregados e perguntou o que era aquilo.
27 And hee sayde vnto him, Thy brother is come, and thy father hath killed the fatte calfe, because he hath receiued him safe and sound.
27 E ele informou: “O seu irmão voltou e, por tê-lo recuperado com saúde, o seu pai mandou matar o bezerro gordo.”
28 Then he was angry, and would not goe in: therefore came his father out and entreated him.
28 — O filho mais velho se indignou e não queria entrar. Saindo, porém, o pai, procurava convencê-lo a entrar.
29 But he answered and said to his father, Loe, these many yeeres haue I done thee seruice, neither brake I at any time thy commadement, and yet thou neuer gauest mee a kidde that I might make merie with my friends.
29 Mas ele respondeu ao seu pai: “Faz tantos anos que sirvo o senhor e nunca transgredi um mandamento seu. Mas o senhor nunca me deu um cabrito sequer para fazer uma festa com os meus amigos.
30 But when this thy sonne was come, which hath deuoured thy good with harlots, thou hast for his sake killed the fat calfe.
30 Mas, quando veio esse seu filho, que sumiu com os bens do senhor, gastando tudo com prostitutas, o senhor mandou matar o bezerro gordo para ele!”
31 And he said vnto him, Sonne, thou art euer with me, and al that I haue, is thine. It was meete that we shoulde make merie, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is aliue againe: and hee was lost, but he is found.
31 — Então o pai respondeu: “Meu filho, você está sempre comigo; tudo o que eu tenho é seu.
32 — ausente —
32 Mas era preciso festejar e alegrar-se, porque este seu irmão estava morto e reviveu, estava perdido e foi achado.”
