1 Yet nowe heare, O Iaakob my seruant, and Israel, whom I haue chosen.
1 Agora, pois, ouve, ó Jacó, servo meu, e tu, ó Israel, a quem escolhi.
2 Thus sayeth the Lord, that made thee, and formed thee from the wombe: he wil helpe thee. Feare not, O Iaakob, my seruaunt, and thou righteous, whome I haue chosen.
2 Assim diz o Senhor que te criou, e te formou desde o ventre, e que te ajudará: Não temas, ó Jacó, servo meu, e tu, Jesurum, a quem escolhi.
3 For I will powre water vpon the thirstie, and floods vpon the drie grounde: I will powre my Spirit vpon thy seede, and my blessing vpon thy buddes.
3 Porque derramarei água sobre o sedento e rios, sobre a terra seca; derramarei o meu Espírito sobre a tua posteridade e a minha bênção, sobre os teus descendentes.
4 And they shall grow as among the grasse, and as the willowes by the riuers of waters.
4 E brotarão entre a erva, como salgueiros junto aos ribeiros das águas.
5 One shall say, I am the Lordes: another shalbe called by the name of Iaakob: and another shall subscribe with his hand vnto the Lord, and name himselfe by the name of Israel.
5 Este dirá: Eu sou do Senhor ; e aquele se chamará do nome de Jacó; e aquele outro escreverá com a mão: Eu sou do Senhor ; e por sobrenome tomará o nome de Israel.
6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel and his redeemer, the Lord of hostes, I am the first, and I am the last, and without me is there no God.
6 Assim diz o Senhor , Rei de Israel e seu Redentor, o Senhor dos Exércitos: Eu sou o primeiro e eu sou o último, e fora de mim não há Deus.
7 And who is like me, that shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order before me, since I appointed the ancient people? and what is at hand, and what things are to come? let them shewe vnto them.
7 E quem chamará como eu, e anunciará isso, e o porá em ordem perante mim, desde que ordenei um povo eterno? Este que anuncie as coisas futuras e as que ainda hão de vir.
8 Feare ye not, neither be afraide: haue not I tolde thee of olde, and haue declared it? you are euen my witnesses, whether there be a God beside me, and that there is no God that I knowe not.
8 Não vos assombreis, nem temais; porventura, desde então, não vo-lo fiz ouvir e não vo-lo anunciei? Porque vós sois as minhas testemunhas. Há outro Deus além de mim? Não! Não há outra Rocha que eu conheça.
9 All they that make an image, are vanitie, and their delectable things shall nothing profite: and they are their owne witnesses, that they see not nor know: therefore they shalbe confounded.
9 Todos os artífices de imagens de escultura são vaidade, e as suas coisas mais desejáveis são de nenhum préstimo; e suas mesmas testemunhas nada veem, nem entendem, para que eles sejam confundidos.
10 Who hath made a god, or molten an image, that is profitable for nothing?
10 Quem forma um deus e funde uma imagem de escultura, que é de nenhum préstimo?
11 Beholde, all that are of the fellowship thereof, shall be confounded: for the workemen themselues are men: let them all be gathered together, and stand vp, yet they shall feare, and be confounded together.
11 Eis que todos os seus seguidores ficarão confundidos, pois os mesmos artífices são dentre os homens; ajuntem-se todos e levantem-se; assombrar-se-ão e serão juntamente confundidos.
12 The smith taketh an instrument, and worketh in the coles, and facioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his armes: yea, he is an hungred, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.
12 O ferreiro faz o machado, e trabalha nas brasas, e o forma com martelos, e o lavra com a força do seu braço; ele tem fome, e a sua força falta, e não bebe água, e desfalece.
13 The carpenter stretcheth out a line: he facioneth it with a red thread, he planeth it, and he purtreyeth it with the compasse, and maketh it after the figure of a man, and according to the beautie of a man that it may remaine in an house.
13 O carpinteiro estende a régua, e emprega a almagra, e aplaina com o cepilho, e marca com o compasso, e faz o seu deus à semelhança de um homem, segundo a forma de um homem, para ficar em casa.
14 He will hewe him downe cedars, and take the pine tree and the oke, and taketh courage among the trees of the forest: he planteth a firre tree, and the raine doeth nourish it.
14 Tomou para si cedros, ou toma um cipreste, ou um carvalho e esforça-se contra as árvores do bosque; planta um olmeiro, e a chuva o faz crescer.
15 And man burneth thereof: for he will take thereof and warme himselfe: he also kindleth it and baketh bread, yet he maketh a god, and worshippeth it: he maketh it an idole and boweth vnto it.
15 Então, servirão ao homem para queimar; com isso, se aquenta e coze o pão; também faz um deus e se prostra diante dele; fabrica uma imagem de escultura e ajoelha diante dela.
16 He burneth the halfe thereof euen in the fire, and vpon the halfe thereof he eateth flesh: he rosteth the roste and is satisfied: also he warmeth himselfe and sayth, Aha, I am warme, I haue bene at the fire.
16 Metade queima, com a outra metade come carne; assa-a e farta-se; também se aquenta e diz: Ora, já me aquentei, já vi o fogo.
17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god, euen his idole: he boweth vnto it, and worshippeth and prayeth vnto it, and sayeth, Deliuer me: for thou art my god.
17 Então, do resto faz um deus, uma imagem de escultura; ajoelha-se diante dela, e se inclina, e lhe dirige a sua oração, e diz: Livra-me, porquanto tu és o meu deus.
18 They haue not knowen, nor vnderstand: for God hath shut their eyes that they cannot see, and their heartes, that they cannot vnderstand.
18 Nada sabem, nem entendem; porque se lhe untaram os olhos, para que não vejam, e o coração, para que não entendam.
19 And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor vnderstanding to say, I haue burnt halfe of it, euen in the fire, and haue baked bread also vpon the coles thereof: I haue rosted flesh, and eaten it, and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I bowe to the stocke of a tree?
19 E nenhum deles toma isso a peito, e já não têm conhecimento nem entendimento para dizer: Metade queimei, e cozi pão sobre as suas brasas, e assei sobre elas carne, e a comi; e faria eu do resto uma abominação? Ajoelhar-me-ia eu ao que saiu de uma árvore?
20 He feedeth of ashes: a seduced heart hath deceiued him, that he cannot deliuer his soule, nor say, Is there not a lye in my right hand?
20 Apascenta-se de cinza; o seu coração enganado o desviou, de maneira que não pode livrar a sua alma, nem dizer: Não há uma mentira na minha mão direita?
21 Remember these (O Iaakob and Israel) for thou art my seruant: I haue formed thee: thou art my seruant: O Israel forget me not.
21 Lembra-te dessas coisas, ó Jacó, e, tu, Israel, porquanto és meu servo; eu te formei, meu servo és, ó Israel; não me esquecerei de ti.
22 I haue put away thy transgressions like a cloude, and thy sinnes, as a mist: turne vnto me, for I haue redeemed thee.
22 Desfaço as tuas transgressões como a névoa, e os teus pecados, como a nuvem; torna-te para mim, porque eu te remi.
23 Reioyce, ye heauens: for the Lord hath done it: shoute, ye lower partes of the earth: brast foorth into prayses, ye mountaines, O forest and euery tree therein: for the Lord hath redeemed Iaakob and will be glorified in Israel.
23 Cantai alegres, vós, ó céus, porque o Senhor fez isso; exultai vós, as partes mais baixas da terra; vós, montes, retumbai com júbilo; também vós, bosques e todas as árvores em vós; porque o Senhor remiu a Jacó e glorificou-se em Israel.
24 Thus sayeth the Lord thy redeemer and he that formed thee from the wombe, I am the Lord, that made all things, that spred out the heauens alone, and stretched out the earth by my selfe.
24 Assim diz o Senhor , teu Redentor, e que te formou desde o ventre: Eu sou o Senhor que faço todas as coisas, que estendo os céus e espraio a terra por mim mesmo;
25 I destroy the tokens of ye southsayers, and make them that coniecture, fooles, and turne the wise men backwarde, and make their knowledge foolishnesse.
25 que desfaço os sinais dos inventores de mentiras e enlouqueço os adivinhos; que faço tornar atrás os sábios e transtorno a ciência deles;
26 He confirmeth the worde of his seruant and performeth the counsell of his messengers, saying to Ierusalem, Thou shalt bee inhabited: and to the cities of Iudah, Yee shall be built vp, and I will repayre the decayed places thereof.
26 sou eu quem confirma a palavra do seu servo e cumpre o conselho dos seus mensageiros; quem diz a Jerusalém: Tu serás habitada, e às cidades de Judá: Sereis reedificadas, e eu levantarei as suas ruínas;
27 He saith to the deepe, Be drye and I will drye vp thy floods.
27 quem diz à profundeza: Seca-te, e eu secarei os teus rios;
28 He saith to Cyrus, Thou art my shepheard: and he shall performe all my desire: saying also to Ierusalem, Thou shalt be built: and to the Temple, Thy foundation shall be surely layed.
28 quem diz de Ciro: É meu pastor e cumprirá tudo o que me apraz; dizendo também a Jerusalém: Sê edificada; e ao templo: Funda-te.
