1 For lo, the Lord God of hostes will take away from Ierusalem and from Iudah the stay and the strength: euen all the staye of bread, and all the stay of water,
1 O Soberano S enhor dos Exércitos, tirará de Jerusalém e de Judá tudo aquilo de que dependem: cada pedaço de pão, cada gota de água,
2 The strong man, and the man of warre, the iudge and the prophet, the prudent and the aged,
2 todos os seus heróis e soldados, juízes e profetas, adivinhos e autoridades,
3 The captaine of fiftie, and the honourable, and the counseller, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent man.
3 oficiais do exército e altos funcionários, conselheiros, magos e astrólogos.
4 And I will appoint children to bee their princes, and babes shall rule ouer them.
4 Nomearei meninos como seus líderes, crianças pequenas para governá-los.
5 The people shalbe oppressed one of another, and euery one by his neighbour: the children shall presume against the ancient, and the vile against the honourable.
5 As pessoas oprimirão umas às outras: homem contra homem, vizinho contra vizinho. Os jovens insultarão os idosos, e os canalhas desprezarão os honrados.
6 When euery one shall take holde of his brother of the house of his father, and say, Thou hast clothing: thou shalt bee our prince, and let this fall be vnder thine hand.
6 Naquele dia, um homem dirá a seu irmão: “Você tem roupas; seja nosso líder! Assuma o governo deste monte de ruínas”.
7 In that day hee shall sweare, saying, I cannot bee an helper: for there is no bread in mine house, nor clothing: therefore make me no prince of the people.
7 Mas ele responderá: “Não posso ajudar! Não tenho roupa nem comida sobrando; não me escolham como líder”.
8 Doubtlesse Ierusalem is fallen, and Iudah is fallen downe, because their tongue and workes are against the Lord, to prouoke the eyes of his glory.
8 Jerusalém tropeçará, e Judá cairá, pois falam contra o S rebelam-se abertamente contra sua glória.
9 The triall of their countenance testifieth against them, yea, they declare their sinnes as Sodom, they hide them not. Wo be vnto their soules: for they haue rewarded euil vnto themselues.
9 A expressão do rosto os denuncia; exibem seu pecado como o povo de Sodoma, nem sequer procuram escondê-lo. Estão perdidos! Trouxeram desgraça sobre si mesmos.
10 Say ye, Surely it shalbe well with the iust: for they shall eate the fruite of their workes.
10 Digam aos justos que tudo lhes irá bem; desfrutarão a recompensa de seus esforços.
11 Woe be to the wicked, it shalbe euill with him: for the reward of his handes shalbe giuen him.
11 Os perversos, porém, estão perdidos, pois receberão exatamente o que merecem.
12 Children are extortioners of my people, and women haue rule ouer them: O my people, they that leade thee, cause thee to erre, and destroy the way of thy paths.
12 Líderes imaturos oprimem meu povo, mulheres o governam. Ó meu povo, seus líderes o enganam e o conduzem pelo caminho errado.
13 The Lord standeth vp to pleade, yea, hee standeth to iudge the people.
13 O S enhor toma seu lugar no tribunal e apresenta sua causa contra seu povo.
14 The Lord shall enter into iudgement with the Ancients of his people and the princes thereof: for ye haue eaten vp the vineyarde: the spoyle of the poore is in your houses.
14 O S enhor se apresenta para pronunciar julgamento sobre as autoridades do povo e seus governantes: “Vocês acabaram com Israel, minha videira; o que roubaram dos pobres agora enche suas casas.
15 What haue ye to do, that ye beate my people to pieces, and grinde the faces of the poore, saith the Lord, euen the Lord of hoasts?
15 Como ousam esmagar meu povo e esfregar o rosto dos pobres no pó?”. Quem exige uma resposta é o Soberano S
16 The Lord also saith, Because the daughters of Zion are hautie, and walke with stretched out neckes, and with wandering eyes, walking and minsing as they goe, and making a tinkeling with their feete,
16 O S enhor diz: “A bela Sião é arrogante; estica seu pescoço elegante e lança olhares atrevidos, caminhando com passos curtos, fazendo tinir os enfeites de seus tornozelos.
17 Therefore shall the Lord make the heades of the daughters of Zion balde, and the Lord shall discouer their secrete partes.
17 Por isso, o Senhor fará surgir crostas em sua cabeça; o S
18 In that day shall the Lord take away the ornament of the slippers, and the calles, and the round tyres,
18 Naquele dia, o Senhor removerá tudo que a embeleza: os enfeites, as tiaras, os colares em forma de meia-lua,
19 The sweete balles, and the brasselets, and the bonnets,
19 os brincos, as pulseiras e os véus;
20 The tyres of the head, and the sloppes, and the head bandes, and the tablets, and the earings,
20 os lenços, os enfeites para o tornozelo, os cintos, os perfumes e os amuletos;
21 The rings and the mufflers,
21 os anéis, as joias do nariz,
22 The costly apparell and the vailes, and the wimples, and the crisping pinnes,
22 as roupas de festa, os vestidos, os mantos e as bolsas;
23 And the glasses and the fine linen, and the hoodes, and the launes.
23 os espelhos, as roupas de linho fino, os adornos para a cabeça e os xales.
24 And in steade of sweete sauour, there shall be stinke, and in steade of a girdle, a rent, and in steade of dressing of the heare, baldnesse, and in steade of a stomacher, a girding of sackecloth, and burning in steade of beautie.
24 Em vez de exalar perfume agradável, ela terá mau cheiro; usará cordas como cinto e perderá todo o seu lindo cabelo. Vestirá pano de saco em vez de roupas finas, e a vergonha tomará o lugar de sua beleza.
25 Thy men shall fall by the sworde, and thy strength in the battell.
25 Os homens da cidade serão mortos à espada, e seus guerreiros morrerão na batalha.
26 Then shall her gates mourne and lament, and she, being desolate, shall sit vpon the ground.
26 Os portões de Sião chorarão e se lamentarão; a cidade será como uma mulher devastada, encolhida no chão.
