1 For lo, the Lord God of hostes will take away from Ierusalem and from Iudah the stay and the strength: euen all the staye of bread, and all the stay of water,
1 Porque eis que o Senhor, o vai tirar de Jerusalém e de Judá o sustento e o apoio, todo sustento de pão e todo sustento de água.
2 The strong man, and the man of warre, the iudge and the prophet, the prudent and the aged,
2 Ele vai tirar também o valente, o guerreiro e o juiz; o profeta, o adivinho e o ancião;
3 The captaine of fiftie, and the honourable, and the counseller, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent man.
3 o capitão de cinquenta, o nobre, o conselheiro, o hábil artífice e o perito em encantamentos.
4 And I will appoint children to bee their princes, and babes shall rule ouer them.
4 O Senhor lhes dará meninos por chefes, e crianças governarão sobre eles.
5 The people shalbe oppressed one of another, and euery one by his neighbour: the children shall presume against the ancient, and the vile against the honourable.
5 Entre o povo, uns oprimirão os outros, cada um o seu próximo. Os jovens se levantarão contra os velhos, as pessoas desprezíveis contra os nobres.
6 When euery one shall take holde of his brother of the house of his father, and say, Thou hast clothing: thou shalt bee our prince, and let this fall be vnder thine hand.
6 Quando alguém for falar com o seu irmão na casa de seu pai, dizendo: “Você ainda tem um manto; venha ser o nosso chefe e assuma o controle dessas ruínas”,
7 In that day hee shall sweare, saying, I cannot bee an helper: for there is no bread in mine house, nor clothing: therefore make me no prince of the people.
7 naquele dia o outro levantará a sua voz, dizendo: “Não sou médico e não há comida nem roupa em minha casa; não me ponham por chefe do povo.”
8 Doubtlesse Ierusalem is fallen, and Iudah is fallen downe, because their tongue and workes are against the Lord, to prouoke the eyes of his glory.
8 Jerusalém tropeçou, e a terra de Judá está caída; porque as suas palavras e as suas obras são contra o para desafiarem a sua gloriosa presença.
9 The triall of their countenance testifieth against them, yea, they declare their sinnes as Sodom, they hide them not. Wo be vnto their soules: for they haue rewarded euil vnto themselues.
9 O aspecto do rosto testifica contra eles; e, como Sodoma, exibem o seu pecado e não o encobrem. Ai deles! Porque estão provocando a sua própria desgraça.
10 Say ye, Surely it shalbe well with the iust: for they shall eate the fruite of their workes.
10 Digam ao justo que tudo irá bem com ele; porque comerá do fruto das suas ações.
11 Woe be to the wicked, it shalbe euill with him: for the reward of his handes shalbe giuen him.
11 Ai do ímpio! Tudo irá mal com ele; porque o pagamento dele será o que as próprias mãos fizeram.
12 Children are extortioners of my people, and women haue rule ouer them: O my people, they that leade thee, cause thee to erre, and destroy the way of thy paths.
12 Os opressores do meu povo são crianças, e mulheres estão à frente do seu governo. Meu povo, os seus guias enganam você e destroem o caminho por onde você deve seguir.
13 The Lord standeth vp to pleade, yea, hee standeth to iudge the people.
13 O Senhor se levanta para apresentar a sua causa; ele se apresenta para julgar os povos.
14 The Lord shall enter into iudgement with the Ancients of his people and the princes thereof: for ye haue eaten vp the vineyarde: the spoyle of the poore is in your houses.
14 O Senhor entra em juízo contra os anciãos do seu povo e contra os seus líderes. Ele diz: “Foram vocês que arruinaram esta vinha. O que roubaram dos pobres está na casa de vocês.
15 What haue ye to do, that ye beate my people to pieces, and grinde the faces of the poore, saith the Lord, euen the Lord of hoasts?
15 Com que direito vocês esmagam o meu povo e moem a face dos pobres?” O Senhor, o é quem está falando.
16 The Lord also saith, Because the daughters of Zion are hautie, and walke with stretched out neckes, and with wandering eyes, walking and minsing as they goe, and making a tinkeling with their feete,
16 O Senhor disse: “Visto que são orgulhosas as filhas de Sião e andam de pescoço erguido, com olhar despudorado, dando passos curtos e fazendo tinir os enfeites dos tornozelos,
17 Therefore shall the Lord make the heades of the daughters of Zion balde, and the Lord shall discouer their secrete partes.
17 o Senhor fará com que apareça sarna na cabeça das filhas de Sião; o a nudez delas.”
18 In that day shall the Lord take away the ornament of the slippers, and the calles, and the round tyres,
18 Naquele dia, o Senhor tirará os enfeites que elas têm nos tornozelos, as toucas e os ornamentos em forma de meia-lua;
19 The sweete balles, and the brasselets, and the bonnets,
19 os pendentes, os braceletes e os véus esvoaçantes;
20 The tyres of the head, and the sloppes, and the head bandes, and the tablets, and the earings,
20 os turbantes, as correntinhas para os tornozelos, os cintos, as caixinhas de perfume e os amuletos;
21 The rings and the mufflers,
21 os anéis e as joias pendentes do nariz;
22 The costly apparell and the vailes, and the wimples, and the crisping pinnes,
22 os vestidos de festa, os mantos, os xales e as bolsas;
23 And the glasses and the fine linen, and the hoodes, and the launes.
23 os espelhos, as roupas finíssimas, os enfeites para a cabeça e os véus.
24 And in steade of sweete sauour, there shall be stinke, and in steade of a girdle, a rent, and in steade of dressing of the heare, baldnesse, and in steade of a stomacher, a girding of sackecloth, and burning in steade of beautie.
24 Em vez de perfume haverá cheiro podre; em vez de cinto, uma corda; em vez de belos penteados, cabeça rapada; em vez de vestidos luxuosos, roupa feita de pano de saco; e marca de fogo em lugar de formosura.
25 Thy men shall fall by the sworde, and thy strength in the battell.
25 Os homens de Jerusalém cairão à espada, e os valentes serão mortos na guerra.
26 Then shall her gates mourne and lament, and she, being desolate, shall sit vpon the ground.
26 Os portões da cidade chorarão e estarão de luto; Sião, desolada, se assentará no chão.
