1 For the Lord wil haue compassion of Iaakob, and wil yet chuse Israel, and cause them to rest in their owne lande: and the stranger shall ioyne him selfe vnto them, and they shall cleaue to the house of Iaakob.
1 Mais uma vez, o Senhor Deus terá compaixão de Israel e o escolherá para ser o seu próprio povo. Fará com que os israelitas voltem para a sua própria terra, e estrangeiros irão morar ali com eles.
2 And the people shall receiue them and bring them to their owne place, and the house of Israel shall possesse them in the land of the Lord, for seruants and handmaids: and they shall take them prisoners, whose captiues they were, and haue rule ouer their oppressours.
2 Pessoas de várias nações irão com os israelitas para a sua terra, a terra do Senhor , e ali se tornarão escravos e escravas do povo de Israel. Os israelitas terão como escravos aqueles que antigamente eram seus donos e dominarão aqueles que antes os dominavam.
3 And in that day when the Lord shall giue thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy feare, and from the sore bodage, wherein thou didest serue,
3 Povo de Israel, chegará o dia em que o Senhor Deus vai livrá-los da escravidão, e assim vocês ficarão livres dos sofrimentos e dos trabalhos pesados que são forçados a fazer.
4 Then shalt thou take vp this prouerbe against the King of Babel, and say, Howe hath the oppressor ceased? and the gold thirsty Babel rested?
4 Quando esse dia chegar, zombem do rei da Babilônia, recitando esta poesia: Vejam como desapareceu o rei cruel! Vejam como acabou a sua violência!
5 The Lord hath broken the rodde of the wicked, and the scepter of the rulers:
5 O Senhor tirou o poder dos maus; ele quebrou o bastão dos governadores cruéis,
6 Which smote the people in anger with a continuall plague, and ruled the nations in wrath: if any were persecuted, he did not let.
6 que na sua ira maltratavam os povos e na sua fúria perseguiam as nações que haviam conquistado.
7 The whole worlde is at rest and is quiet: they sing for ioye.
7 Agora o mundo inteiro está calmo e em paz, e todos cantam de alegria.
8 Also the firre trees reioyced of thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid downe, no hewer came vp against vs.
8 Até os ciprestes e os cedros do Líbano estão contentes com a queda do rei da Babilônia e dizem: “Desde o dia em que ele caiu, não apareceu ninguém para nos derrubar.”
9 Hel beneath is mooued for thee to meete thee at thy comming, raising vp the deade for thee, euen all the princes of the earth, and hath raised from their thrones all the Kinges of the nations.
9 Lá embaixo, no mundo dos mortos , os seus moradores se preparam para receber o rei da Babilônia. As sombras daqueles que eram poderosos na terra acordam, os que foram reis se levantam dos seus tronos.
10 All they shall crie, and saie vnto thee, Art thou become weake also as we? art thou become like vnto vs?
10 Todos eles dirão ao rei: “Você também perdeu as forças! Agora você é igual a nós!
11 Thy pompe is brought downe to ye graue, and the sounde of thy violes: the worme is spred vnder thee, and the wormes couer thee.
11 Aonde foi parar a sua vaidade? Onde está agora a música das suas Elas estão aqui no mundo dos mortos, onde você vai se deitar em cima de vermes e vai se cobrir com bichos.”
12 How art thou fallen from heauen, O Lucifer, sonne of the morning? and cutte downe to the grounde, which didest cast lottes vpon the nations?
12 Rei da Babilônia, brilhante estrela da manhã, você caiu lá do céu! Você, que dominava as nações, foi derrubado no chão!
13 Yet thou saidest in thine heart, I will ascende into heauen, and exalt my throne aboue beside the starres of God: I will sitte also vpon the mount of the Congregation in the sides of the North.
13 Antigamente você pensava assim: “Subirei até o céu e me sentarei no meu trono, acima das estrelas de Deus. Reinarei lá longe, no Norte, no monte onde os deuses se reúnem.
14 I wil ascend aboue ye height of the cloudes, and I will be like the most high.
14 Subirei acima das nuvens mais altas e serei como o Deus Altíssimo.”
15 But thou shalt bee brought downe to the graue, to the sides of the pit.
15 Mas você foi jogado no mundo dos mortos, no
16 They that see thee, shall looke vpon thee and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, and that did shake the kingdomes?
16 Os mortos vão olhar espantados para você e vão perguntar: “Será este o homem que fazia os reinos tremerem, que fazia o mundo inteiro tremer de medo?
17 He made the worlde as a wildernesse, and destroied the cities thereof, and opened not the house of his prisoners.
17 Será este o homem que fez o mundo virar um deserto, que arrasava cidades e não deixava os seus prisioneiros voltarem para casa?”
18 All the Kings of the nations, euen they all sleepe in glorie, euery one in his owne house.
18 Todos os reis do mundo foram sepultados com homenagens, cada um na sua própria sepultura,
19 But thou art cast out of thy graue like an abominable branch: like the raiment of those that are slaine, and thrust thorowe with a sword, which goe downe to the stones of the pit, as a carkeise troden vnder feete.
19 mas você não foi sepultado. Como se fosse um aborto nojento, o seu corpo foi jogado fora e pisado. Está coberto de corpos de soldados mortos na batalha, daqueles que desceram até a cova cheia de pedras.
20 Thou shalt not be ioyned with them in the graue, because thou hast destroied thine owne lande, and slaine thy people: the seede of the wicked shall not be renoumed for euer.
20 Você não foi sepultado como os outros reis, pois arrasou o seu próprio país e matou o seu próprio povo. Que morram todos os descendentes desse rei maldito!
21 Prepare a slaughter for his children, for the iniquitie of their fathers: let them not rise vp nor possesse the land, nor fil the face of the world with enemies.
21 Por causa da maldade dos seus antepassados, matem logo os seus filhos a fim de que eles nunca venham a governar a terra, nem encham o mundo de cidades.
22 For I wil rise vp against them (sayth the Lord of hostes) and will cut off from Babel the name and the remnant and the sonne, and the nephew, sayth the Lord:
22 O Senhor Todo-Poderoso diz: — Vou atacar e arrasar a cidade de Babilônia. Vou acabar com todos: pais e filhos, avós e netos. Sou eu, o
23 And I wil make it a possession to ye hedgehogge, and pooles of water, and I will sweepe it with the besome of destruction, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
23 Farei com que a Babilônia vire um lamaçal, um lugar onde viverão as corujas. Vou varrê-la com a minha vassoura, e ela desaparecerá. Eu, o Senhor Todo-Poderoso, falei.
24 The Lord of hostes hath sworne, saying, Surely like as I haue purposed, so shall it come to passe, and as I haue consulted, it shall stand:
24 O Senhor Todo-Poderoso jurou: “Vou fazer o que resolvi; vou realizar o meu plano.
25 That I will breake to pieces Asshur in my land, and vpon my mountaines will I treade him vnder foote: so that his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden shall be taken from off their shoulder.
25 Vou acabar com os assírios que estão na minha terra de Israel, vou pisá-los nas minhas montanhas. Livrarei o meu povo da escravidão, quebrarei as correntes com que os assírios o prenderam e tirarei das suas costas as suas cargas pesadas.
26 This is the counsell that is consulted vpon the whole worlde, and this is the hande stretched out ouer all the nations,
26 É este o plano que tenho para o mundo inteiro; a minha mão está levantada para castigar as nações.”
27 Because the Lord of hostes hath determined it, and who shall disanull it? and his hande is stretched out, and who shall turne it away?
27 O Senhor Todo-Poderoso resolveu fazer isso; haverá alguém que o faça parar? Ele levantou a mão para castigar; haverá quem a faça abaixar?
28 In the yeere that King Ahaz died, was this burden.
28 No ano em que o rei Acaz morreu, veio de Deus esta mensagem:
29 Reioyce not, (thou whole Palestina) because the rod of him that did beat thee, is broken for out of the serpents roote shall come forth a cockatrise, and the fruit therof shalbe a firy flying serpent.
29 “Povo da Filisteia, não fique alegre por estar quebrada a Assíria, o bastão que os castigava. Pois, quando uma cobra desaparece, vem outra pior, e do ovo de uma cobra sai um dragão voador.
30 For the first borne of the poore shall be fed, and the needie shall lie downe in safetie: and I will kill thy roote with famine, and it shall slay thy remnant.
30 Como um pastor cuida das ovelhas, assim eu cuidarei dos pobres do meu povo e farei com que vivam em segurança. Porém farei com que vocês, filisteus, morram de fome; não deixarei nenhum vivo.
31 Howle, O gate, crie, O citie: thou whole lande of Palestina art dissolued, for there shall come from the North a smoke, and none shalbe alone, at his time appointed.
31 Chorem e gritem de dor, cidades dos filisteus! Fiquem todas apavoradas! Pois do Norte vem uma nuvem de pó: é um exército que não tem nenhum covarde nas suas fileiras.”
32 What shall then one answere the messengers of the Gentiles? That the Lord hath stablished Zion, and the poore of his people shall trust in it.
32 Que resposta será dada aos mensageiros que vieram da Filisteia? A resposta será esta: “O e ali os pobres do seu povo encontram abrigo.”
