1 The burden of Babel, which Isaiah the sonne of Amoz did see.
1 Advertência contra a Babilônia, que Isaías, filho de Amoz, recebeu em visão:
2 Lift vp a standard vpon the hie mountaine: lift vp the voyce vnto them: wagge the hand, that they may goe into the gates of the nobles.
2 Levantem uma bandeira no topo de uma colina desnuda, gritem a eles; chamem-nos com um aceno, para que entrem pelas portas dos nobres.
3 I haue commanded them, that I haue sanctified: and I haue called ye mightie to my wrath, and them that reioyce in my glorie.
3 Eu mesmo ordenei aos meus santos; para executarem a minha ira já convoquei os meus guerreiros, os que se regozijam com o meu triunfo.
4 The noyse of a multitude is in the mountaines, like a great people: a tumultuous voyce of the kingdomes of the nations gathered together: the Lord of hostes nombreth the hoste of the battell.
4 Escutem! Há um barulho nos montes como o de uma grande multidão! Escutem! É uma gritaria entre os reinos, como nações formando uma imensa multidão! O Senhor dos Exércitos está reunindo um exército para a guerra.
5 They come from a farre countrey, from the end of the heauen: euen the Lord with the weapons of his wrath to destroy the whole land.
5 Eles vêm de terras distantes, lá dos confins dos céus; o Senhor e as armas da sua ira, para destruírem todo o país.
6 Howle you, for the day of the Lord is at hande: it shall come as a destroier from the Almightie.
6 Chorem, pois o dia do Senhor está perto; virá como destruição da parte do Todo-poderoso.
7 Therefore shall all hands be weakened, and all mens hearts shall melt,
7 Por isso, todas as mãos ficarão trêmulas, o coração de todos os homens se derreterá.
8 And they shalbe afraid: anguish and sorowe shall take them, and they shall haue paine, as a woman that trauaileth: euery one shall be amased at his neighbour, and their faces shalbe like flames of fire.
8 Ficarão apavorados, dores e aflições os dominarão; eles se contorcerão como a mulher em trabalho de parto. Olharão chocados uns para os outros, com os rostos em fogo.
9 Beholde, the day of the Lord commeth, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger to lay the land wast: and he shall destroy the sinners out of it.
9 Vejam! O dia do Senhor está perto, dia cruel, de ira e grande furor, para devastar a terra e destruir os seus pecadores.
10 For the starres of heauen and the planets thereof shall not giue their light: the sunne shalbe darkened in his going foorth, and the moone shall not cause her light to shine.
10 As estrelas do céu e as suas constelações não mostrarão a sua luz. O sol nascente escurecerá, e a lua não fará brilhar a sua luz.
11 And I will visite the wickednes vpon the worlde, and their iniquitie vpon the wicked, and I wil cause the arrogancie of the proud to cease, and will cast downe the pride of tyrants.
11 Castigarei o mundo por causa da sua maldade, os ímpios pela sua iniqüidade. Darei fim à arrogância dos altivos e humilharei o orgulho dos cruéis.
12 I will make a man more precious then fine golde, euen a man aboue the wedge of golde of Ophir.
12 Tornarei o homem mais escasso do que o ouro puro, mais raro do que o ouro de Ofir.
13 Therefore I will shake the heauen, and the earth shall remooue out of her place in the wrath of the Lord of hostes, and in the day of his fierce anger.
13 Por isso farei o céu tremer; e a terra se moverá do seu lugar diante da ira do Senhor dos Exércitos, no dia do furor da sua ira.
14 And it shall be as a chased doe, and as a sheepe that no man taketh vp. euery man shall turne to his owne people, and flee eche one to his owne lande.
14 Como a gazela perseguida, como a ovelha que ninguém recolhe, cada um voltará para o seu povo, cada um fugirá para a sua terra.
15 Euery one that is founde, shall be striken through: and whosoeuer ioyneth himselfe, shall fal by the sworde.
15 Todo o que for capturado será traspassado; todos os que forem apanhados cairão à espada.
16 Their children also shall be broken in pieces before their eyes: their houses shall be spoiled, and their wiues rauished.
16 Seus bebês serão despedaçados diante dos seus olhos; suas casas serão saqueadas e suas mulheres violentadas.
17 Beholde, I will stirre vp the Medes against them, which shall not regarde siluer, nor be desirous of golde.
17 Vejam! Eu despertarei contra eles os medos, que não se interessam pela prata nem se deleitam com o ouro.
18 With bowes also shall they destroy ye children, and shall haue no compassion vpon the fruit of the wombe, and their eies shall not spare the children.
18 Seus arcos ferirão os jovens, e eles não terão misericórdia dos bebês, nem olharão com compaixão para as crianças.
19 And Babel the glorie of kingdomes, the beautie and pride of the Chaldeans, shall be as the destruction of God in Sodom and Gomorah.
19 Babilônia, a jóia dos reinos, o esplendor do orgulho dos babilônios. será destruída por Deus à semelhança de Sodoma e Gomorra.
20 It shall not bee inhabited for euer, neither shall it be dwelled in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch his tents there, neither shall the shepheardes make their foldes there.
20 Nunca mais será repovoada nem habitada, de geração em geração; o árabe não armará ali a sua tenda e o pastor não fará descansar ali o seu rebanho.
21 But Ziim shall lodge there, and their houses shall be ful of Ohim: Ostriches shall dwel there, and the Satyrs shall dance there.
21 Mas as criaturas do deserto lá estarão, e as suas casas se encherão de chacais; nela habitarão corujas e saltarão bodes selvagens.
22 And Iim shall crie in their palaces, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and the time thereof is readie to come, and the daies thereof shall not be prolonged.
22 As hienas uivarão em suas fortalezas, e os chacais em seus luxuosos palácios. O tempo dela está terminando, e os seus dias não serão prolongados.
