1 The burden of Babel, which Isaiah the sonne of Amoz did see.
1 Oráculo acerca de Babilônia, que Isaías, filho de Amoz, recebeu numa visão.
2 Lift vp a standard vpon the hie mountaine: lift vp the voyce vnto them: wagge the hand, that they may goe into the gates of the nobles.
2 Alçai uma bandeira sobre o monte escalvado; levantai a voz para eles; acenai-lhes com a mão, para que entrem pelas portas dos príncipes.
3 I haue commanded them, that I haue sanctified: and I haue called ye mightie to my wrath, and them that reioyce in my glorie.
3 Eu dei ordens aos meus consagrados; sim, já chamei os meus valentes para executarem a minha ira, os que exultam arrogantemente.
4 The noyse of a multitude is in the mountaines, like a great people: a tumultuous voyce of the kingdomes of the nations gathered together: the Lord of hostes nombreth the hoste of the battell.
4 Eis um tumulto sobre os montes, como o de grande multidão! Eis um tumulto de reinos, de nações congregadas! O Senhor dos exércitos passa em revista o exército para a guerra.
5 They come from a farre countrey, from the end of the heauen: euen the Lord with the weapons of his wrath to destroy the whole land.
5 Vêm duma terra de longe, desde a extremidade do céu, o Senhor e os instrumentos da sua indignação, para destruir toda aquela terra.
6 Howle you, for the day of the Lord is at hande: it shall come as a destroier from the Almightie.
6 Uivai, porque o dia do Senhor está perto; virá do Todo-Poderoso como assolação.
7 Therefore shall all hands be weakened, and all mens hearts shall melt,
7 Pelo que todas as mãos se debilitarão, e se derreterá o coração de todos os homens.
8 And they shalbe afraid: anguish and sorowe shall take them, and they shall haue paine, as a woman that trauaileth: euery one shall be amased at his neighbour, and their faces shalbe like flames of fire.
8 E ficarão desanimados; e deles se apoderarão dores e ais; e se angustiarão, como a mulher que está de parto; olharão atônitos uns para os outros; os seus rostos serão rostos flamejantes.
9 Beholde, the day of the Lord commeth, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger to lay the land wast: and he shall destroy the sinners out of it.
9 Eis que o dia do Senhor vem, horrendo, com furor e ira ardente; para pôr a terra em assolação e para destruir do meio dela os seus pecadores.
10 For the starres of heauen and the planets thereof shall not giue their light: the sunne shalbe darkened in his going foorth, and the moone shall not cause her light to shine.
10 Pois as estrelas do céu e as suas constelações não deixarão brilhar a sua luz; o sol se escurecerá ao nascer, e a lua não fará resplandecer a sua luz.
11 And I will visite the wickednes vpon the worlde, and their iniquitie vpon the wicked, and I wil cause the arrogancie of the proud to cease, and will cast downe the pride of tyrants.
11 E visitarei sobre o mundo a sua maldade, e sobre os ímpios a sua iniqüidade; e farei cessar a arrogância dos atrevidos, e abaterei a soberba dos cruéis.
12 I will make a man more precious then fine golde, euen a man aboue the wedge of golde of Ophir.
12 Farei que os homens sejam mais raros do que o ouro puro, sim mais raros do que o ouro fino de Ofir.
13 Therefore I will shake the heauen, and the earth shall remooue out of her place in the wrath of the Lord of hostes, and in the day of his fierce anger.
13 Pelo que farei estremecer o céu, e a terra se movera do seu lugar, por causa do furor do Senhor dos exércitos, e por causa do dia da sua ardente ira.
14 And it shall be as a chased doe, and as a sheepe that no man taketh vp. euery man shall turne to his owne people, and flee eche one to his owne lande.
14 E como a corça quando é perseguida, e como a ovelha que ninguém recolhe, assim cada um voltará para o seu povo, e cada um fugirá para a sua terra.
15 Euery one that is founde, shall be striken through: and whosoeuer ioyneth himselfe, shall fal by the sworde.
15 Todo o que for achado será traspassado; e todo o que for apanhado, cairá à espada.
16 Their children also shall be broken in pieces before their eyes: their houses shall be spoiled, and their wiues rauished.
16 E suas crianças serão despedaçadas perante os seus olhos; as suas casas serão saqueadas, e as suas mulheres violadas.
17 Beholde, I will stirre vp the Medes against them, which shall not regarde siluer, nor be desirous of golde.
17 Eis que suscitarei contra eles os medos, que não farão caso da prata, nem tampouco no ouro terão prazer.
18 With bowes also shall they destroy ye children, and shall haue no compassion vpon the fruit of the wombe, and their eies shall not spare the children.
18 E os seus arcos despedaçarão aos mancebos; e não se compadecerão do fruto do ventre; os seus olhos não pouparão as crianças.
19 And Babel the glorie of kingdomes, the beautie and pride of the Chaldeans, shall be as the destruction of God in Sodom and Gomorah.
19 E Babilônia, a glória dos reinos, o esplendor e o orgulho dos caldeus, será como Sodoma e Gomorra, quando Deus as transtornou.
20 It shall not bee inhabited for euer, neither shall it be dwelled in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch his tents there, neither shall the shepheardes make their foldes there.
20 Nunca mais será habitada, nem nela morará alguém de geração em geração; nem o árabe armará ali a sua tenda; nem tampouco os pastores ali farão deitar os seus rebanhos.
21 But Ziim shall lodge there, and their houses shall be ful of Ohim: Ostriches shall dwel there, and the Satyrs shall dance there.
21 Mas as feras do deserto repousarão ali, e as suas casas se encherão de horríveis animais; e ali habitarão as avestruzes, e os sátiros pularão ali.
22 And Iim shall crie in their palaces, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and the time thereof is readie to come, and the daies thereof shall not be prolonged.
22 As hienas uivarão nos seus castelos, e os chacais nos seus palácios de prazer; bem perto está o seu tempo, e os seus dias não se prolongarão.
