1 Moveover the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
1 O Senhor falou comigo. Ele disse:
2 Sonne of man, Set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesie against it,
2 — Homem mortal , fale contra o país de Edom.
3 And say vnto it, Thus sayth the Lord God, Behold, O mount Seir, I come against thee, and I wil stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee desolate and waste.
3 Diga ao povo que eu, o Senhor Deus, estou dizendo o seguinte: “Montanhas de Edom, eu estou contra vocês! Farei de você, Edom, um deserto sem moradores.
4 I wil lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt knowe that I am the Lord.
4 Deixarei a sua terra e as suas cidades arrasadas e em ruínas. Aí você ficará sabendo que eu sou o Senhor .
5 Because thou hast had a perpetuall hatred and hast put the children of Israel to flight by the force of the sword in the time of their calamitie, when their iniquitie had an ende,
5 — “Você sempre tem sido inimigo de Israel. No tempo da desgraça dos israelitas, no tempo do seu castigo final por causa dos seus pecados, você deixou que eles fossem mortos.
6 Therefore as I liue, sayth the Lord God, I wil prepare thee vnto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: except thou hate blood, euen blood shall pursue thee.
6 Por isso, eu, o Senhor Deus, juro pela minha vida que o seu fim é a morte e que você não poderá escapar. Você é culpado de crime de morte, e a morte o perseguirá.
7 Thus will I make mount Seir desolate and waste, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth.
7 Farei com que a região montanhosa de Edom vire um deserto e matarei todos os que passarem por ali.
8 And I will fill his mountaines with his slayne men: in thine hilles, and in thy valleys and in all thy riuers shall they fall, that are slayne with the sworde.
8 Cobrirei as montanhas e os morros com cadáveres; os corpos dos que forem mortos em combate encherão os vales e os ribeirões.
9 I wil make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not returne, and ye shall knowe that I am the Lord.
9 Farei de você um deserto para sempre, e nunca mais ninguém viverá nas suas cidades. Aí você ficará sabendo que eu sou o Senhor .
10 Because thou hast said, These two nations, and these two countreys shalbe mine, and we wil possesse them (seeing the Lord was there)
10 — “Você disse que a nação de Judá, a nação de Israel e as terras delas são suas e que você vai tomar posse delas, mesmo que eu, o Senhor , esteja ali.
11 Therefore as I liue, sayth the Lord God, I wil euen do according to thy wrath, and according to thine indignation which thou hast vsed in thine hatred against them: and I wil make my selfe knowen among them whe I haue iudged thee.
11 Por isso, eu, o Senhor Deus, juro pela minha vida que o tratarei com a mesma ira , inveja e ódio com que você tratou o meu povo. Eles ficarão sabendo que eu o estou castigando pelo que você fez com eles.
12 And thou shalt know, that I the Lord haue heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountaines of Israel, saying, They lye waste, they are giuen vs to be deuoured.
12 E você ficará sabendo que eu, o Senhor , ouvi você dizer com desprezo que as montanhas de Israel estavam arrasadas e que você ia devorá-las.
13 Thus with your mouthes ye haue boasted against me, and haue multiplied your words against me: I haue heard them.
13 Muitas vezes, eu o ouvi falar contra mim com desprezo.”
14 Thus sayth the Lord God, So shall all the world reioyce when I shall make thee desolate.
14 O Senhor Deus diz: — Eu o arrasarei de tal forma, que o mundo inteiro se alegrará com a sua queda,
15 As thou diddest reioyce at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I doe vnto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea wholly, and they shall know, that I am the Lord.
15 do mesmo modo que você se alegrou quando a minha propriedade particular, a terra de Israel, virou um deserto. Toda a região montanhosa de Edom se tornará um deserto. Aí todos ficarão sabendo que eu sou o Senhor .
