1 Moveover the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
1 A palavra do Senhor veio a mim, dizendo:
2 Sonne of man, Set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesie against it,
2 — Filho do homem, vire o seu rosto contra o monte Seir e profetize contra ele.
3 And say vnto it, Thus sayth the Lord God, Behold, O mount Seir, I come against thee, and I wil stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee desolate and waste.
3 Diga-lhe: Assim diz o Senhor Deus: “Eis que estou contra você, monte Seir. Estenderei a minha mão contra você e o tornarei em desolação e espanto.
4 I wil lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt knowe that I am the Lord.
4 Deixarei desertas as suas cidades, e você será desolado. Então saberá que eu sou o Senhor .
5 Because thou hast had a perpetuall hatred and hast put the children of Israel to flight by the force of the sword in the time of their calamitie, when their iniquitie had an ende,
5 Pois você guardou uma inimizade sem fim e deixou os filhos de Israel entregues ao poder da espada, no tempo da calamidade e do castigo final.
6 Therefore as I liue, sayth the Lord God, I wil prepare thee vnto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: except thou hate blood, euen blood shall pursue thee.
6 Por isso, tão certo como eu vivo, diz o Senhor Deus, farei você sangrar, e o derramamento de sangue o perseguirá. Visto que você não odiou o derramamento de sangue, este o perseguirá.
7 Thus will I make mount Seir desolate and waste, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth.
7 Farei do monte Seir extrema desolação e eliminarei dele os que por ali passam e os que por ali voltam.
8 And I will fill his mountaines with his slayne men: in thine hilles, and in thy valleys and in all thy riuers shall they fall, that are slayne with the sworde.
8 Encherei os seus montes de cadáveres; os mortos à espada ficarão caídos nas suas colinas, nos seus vales e em todas as suas correntes de água.
9 I wil make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not returne, and ye shall knowe that I am the Lord.
9 Farei de você uma desolação perpétua, e as suas cidades não voltarão a ser habitadas. Assim vocês saberão que eu sou o Senhor .”
10 Because thou hast said, These two nations, and these two countreys shalbe mine, and we wil possesse them (seeing the Lord was there)
10 — “Porque você disse: ‘Esses dois povos são meus e eu vou tomar posse dessas duas terras’, sendo que o Senhor estava ali.
11 Therefore as I liue, sayth the Lord God, I wil euen do according to thy wrath, and according to thine indignation which thou hast vsed in thine hatred against them: and I wil make my selfe knowen among them whe I haue iudged thee.
11 Por isso, tão certo como eu vivo, diz o Senhor Deus, procederei segundo a sua ira e segundo a sua inveja, com que, no seu ódio, você os tratou. E eu me farei conhecido entre eles, quando castigar você.
12 And thou shalt know, that I the Lord haue heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountaines of Israel, saying, They lye waste, they are giuen vs to be deuoured.
12 Você saberá que eu, o Senhor , ouvi todas as blasfêmias que você falou contra os montes de Israel, dizendo: ‘Já estão arrasados e nos foram entregues por pasto.’
13 Thus with your mouthes ye haue boasted against me, and haue multiplied your words against me: I haue heard them.
13 Vocês se exaltaram contra mim com aquilo que falaram e não pouparam palavras contra mim. Eu ouvi isso muito bem.”
14 Thus sayth the Lord God, So shall all the world reioyce when I shall make thee desolate.
14 — Assim diz o Senhor Deus: “Enquanto toda a terra se alegra, farei de você uma desolação.
15 As thou diddest reioyce at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I doe vnto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea wholly, and they shall know, that I am the Lord.
15 Assim como você se alegrou quando a herança da casa de Israel foi arrasada, assim também farei com você. Você será arrasado, ó monte Seir e todo o Edom, sim, todo ele. Então saberão que eu sou o Senhor .”
