1 Then Salomon the sonne of Dauid was confirmed in his kingdome: and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him highly.
1 O rei Salomão, filho de Davi, conseguiu firmar o seu poder como rei de Israel, e o Senhor , seu Deus, o abençoou e fez o seu poder aumentar muito.
2 And Salomon spake vnto all Israel, to the captaines of thousandes, and of hundreths, and to the iudges, and to all the gouernours in all Israel, euen the chiefe fathers.
2 Salomão ordenou a todos os comandantes de mil soldados, aos de cem soldados, às autoridades do governo, aos chefes de família, enfim, a todos os israelitas
3 So Salomon and all the Congregation with him went to the hie place that was at Gibeon: for there was the Tabernacle of the Congregation of God which Moses the seruant of the Lord had made in the wildernesse.
3 que fossem com ele até o lugar de adoração que ficava em Gibeão. Nessa cidade estava a Tenda da Presença de Deus , que Moisés, servo do Senhor , havia feito no deserto.
4 But the Arke of God had Dauid brought vp from Kiriath-iearim, when Dauid had made preparation for it: for he had pitched a tent for it in Ierusalem.
4 (A arca da aliança estava em Jerusalém, numa barraca que Davi tinha armado quando havia levado a arca de Quiriate-Jearim para Jerusalém.)
5 Moreouer the brasen altar that Bezaleel the sonne of Vri, the sonne of Hur had made, did hee set before the Tabernacle of the Lord: and Salomon and the Congregation sought it.
5 O altar de bronze, que havia sido feito por Bezalel, filho de Uri e neto de Hur, estava em frente da Tenda Sagrada. O rei Salomão e todo o povo de Israel foram lá para adorar a Deus.
6 And Salomon offred there before the Lord vpon the brasen altar that was in the Tabernacle of the Congregation: euen a thousand burnt offrings offred he vpon it.
6 Ali, no altar de bronze, Salomão ofereceu a Deus em sacrifício mil animais, que foram completamente queimados.
7 The same night did God appeare vnto Salomon, and sayde vnto him, Aske what I shall giue thee.
7 Naquela noite Deus apareceu a Salomão e perguntou: — O que você quer que eu lhe dê?
8 And Salomon sayde vnto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy vnto Dauid my father and hast made me to reigne in his stead.
8 Ele respondeu: — Tu sempre mostraste um grande amor por Davi, o meu pai, e deixaste que eu ficasse como rei no lugar dele.
9 Nowe therefore, O Lord God, let thy promise vnto Dauid my father be true: for thou hast made mee King ouer a great people, like to the dust of the earth.
9 E agora, ó Senhor Deus, cumpre a promessa que fizeste ao meu pai. Já que me fizeste rei de um povo tão numeroso como o pó da terra,
10 Giue me now wisdome and knowledge, that I may go out and go in before this people: for who can iudge this thy great people?
10 dá-me sabedoria e conhecimento para que eu possa governá-lo. Se não for assim, como poderei governar este teu grande povo?
11 And God sayde to Salomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, treasures nor honour, nor the liues of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life, but hast asked for thee wisdome and knowledge that thou mightest iudge my people, ouer whome I haue made thee King,
11 Deus disse a Salomão: — Visto que você pediu sabedoria e conhecimento para governar o meu povo, de quem eu fiz você rei, em vez de pedir riquezas, bens, ou honras, ou a morte dos seus inimigos, ou vida longa,
12 Wisdome and knowledge is granted vnto thee, and I will giue thee riches and treasures and honour, so that there hath not bene the like among the Kings which were before thee, neither after thee shall there be the like.
12 eu lhe darei sabedoria e conhecimento. E lhe darei também mais riquezas, bens e honras do que qualquer outro rei teve antes de você ou terá depois.
13 Then Salomon came from the hie place, that was at Gibeon, to Ierusalem from before the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and reigned ouer Israel.
13 Então Salomão saiu do lugar de adoração que ficava em Gibeão, onde estava a Tenda Sagrada, e voltou para Jerusalém, onde governou o povo de Israel.
14 And Salomon gathered the charets and horesemen: and he had a thousand and foure hundreth charets, and twelue thousande horsemen, whome he placed in the charet cities, and with the King at Ierusalem.
14 Salomão ajuntou mil e quatrocentos carros de guerra e doze mil cavalos de cavalaria. Espalhou uma parte deles por várias cidades e deixou o resto em Jerusalém.
15 And the King gaue siluer and gold at Ierusalem as stones, and gaue cedar trees as the wilde figge trees, that are abundantly in the playne.
15 Em Jerusalém, durante o seu reinado, a prata e o ouro eram tão comuns como as pedras, e havia tantos cedros como as figueiras bravas que existem nas planícies de Judá.
16 Also Salomon had horses brought out of Egypt and fine linen: the Kings marchants receiued the fine linen for a price.
16 Os agentes do rei controlavam a importação de cavalos de Musri e da Cilícia ,
17 They came vp also and brought out of Egypt some charet, worth sixe hundreth shekels of siluer, that is an horse for an hundreth and fiftie: and thus they brought horses to all the Kings of the Hittites, and to the Kings of Aram by their meanes.
17 e a importação de carros de guerra do Egito. Esses agentes forneciam cavalos e carros de guerra para os reis heteus e sírios, vendendo cada carro por seiscentas barras de prata e cada cavalo por cento e cinquenta barras de prata.
