1 And when Rehoboam had established the kingdome and made it strong, hee forsooke the Lawe of the Lord, and all Israel with him.
1 E sucedeu, quando Roboão havia estabelecido o seu reino, e havendo-se fortalecido, que ele abandonou a lei do SENHOR, e com ele todo o Israel.
2 Therefore in the fift yeere of King Rehoboam, Shishak the King of Egypt came vp against Ierusalem (because they had transgressed against the Lord)
2 E sucedeu que no quinto ano do rei Roboão, Sisaque, rei do Egito, subiu contra Jerusalém, porque eles haviam transgredido contra o SENHOR,
3 With twelue hundreth charets, and three score thousande horsemen, and the people were without nomber, that came with him from Egypt, euen the Lubims, Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.
3 com mil e duzentas carruagens, e sessenta mil cavaleiros; e era inumerável o povo que saiu com ele do Egito; os líbios, os suquitas e os etíopes.
4 And he tooke the strong cities which were of Iudah, and came vnto Ierusalem.
4 E ele tomou as cidades fortificadas que pertenciam a Judá, e veio até Jerusalém.
5 Then came Shemaiah the Prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Iudah, that were gathered together in Hierusalem, because of Shishak, and sayde vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord, Ye haue forsaken me, therefore haue I also left you in the handes of Shishak.
5 Então veio Semaías, o profeta, até Roboão, e até os príncipes de Judá, que estavam reunidos em Jerusalém por causa de Sisaque, e disse-lhes: Assim diz o SENHOR: Vós me abandonastes, e portanto eu também vos deixei na mão de Sisaque.
6 Then the princes of Israel, and the King humbled themselues, and sayde, The Lord is iust.
6 Diante disso os príncipes de Israel e o rei se humilharam, e disseram: O SENHOR é justo.
7 And when the Lord sawe that they humbled themselues, the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They haue humbled theselues, therefore I will not destroy them, but I will sende them deliuerance shortly, and my wrath shall not bee powred out vpon Ierusalem by the hand of Shishak.
7 E quando o SENHOR viu que eles se humilhavam, veio a palavra do SENHOR a Semaías, dizendo: Eles se humilharam; portanto não os destruirei, mas concederei a eles algum socorro; e a minha ira não será derramada sobre Jerusalém pela mão de Sisaque.
8 Neuerthelesse they shalbe his sernants: so shall they knowe my seruice, and the seruice of the kingdomes of the earth.
8 Todavia eles serão seus servos; para que possam conhecer a diferença que há entre o servir-me a mim e o servir os reinos das terras.
9 Then Shishak King of Egypt came vp against Ierusalem, and tooke the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the Kings house he tooke euen all, and hee caried away the shields of golde, which Salomon had made.
9 Assim, Sisaque, o rei do Egito, subiu contra Jerusalém e tomou consigo os tesouros da casa do SENHOR, e os tesouros da casa do rei; tomou tudo; ele também levou embora os escudos de ouro que Salomão havia feito.
10 In stead whereof King Rehoboam made shieldes of brasse, and committed them to the handes of the chiefe of the garde, that wayted at the doore of the Kings house.
10 No lugar dos quais o rei Roboão fez escudos de bronze, e lhes confiou nas mãos do chefe da guarda, que guardava a entrada da casa do rei.
11 And when the King entred into the house of the Lord, the garde came and bare them and brought them againe vnto the garde chamber.
11 E, quando o rei entrava na casa do SENHOR, vinha a guarda e os levava, e os trazia novamente à câmara da guarda.
12 And because hee humbled himselfe, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that hee woulde not destroy all together. And also in Iudah the things prospered.
12 E, quando ele se humilhou, a ira do SENHOR volveu-se dele, para que não o destruísse por completo; porque em Judá ainda havia boas coisas.
13 So King Rehoboam was strong in Ierusalem and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and fourtie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and reigned seuenteene yeres in Ierusalem, the citie which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his Name there. And his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonitesse.
13 Assim, o rei Roboão fortaleceu-se em Jerusalém e reinou; pois Roboão tinha quarenta e um anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou por dezessete anos em Jerusalém, a cidade que o SENHOR escolheu de todas as tribos de Israel, para ali colocar o seu nome. E o nome da sua mãe era Naamá, uma amonita.
14 And he did euill: for hee prepared not his heart to seeke the Lord.
14 E ele fez mal, porque não preparou o seu coração para buscar o SENHOR.
15 The actes also of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the booke of Shemaiah the Prophet, and Iddo the Seer, in rehearsing the genealogie? and there was warre alway betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam.
15 Ora, os atos de Roboão, os primeiros e os últimos, não estão escritos no livro do profeta Semaías e do vidente Ido, acerca das genealogias? E houve guerras entre Roboão e Jeroboão continuamente.
16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the citie of Dauid, and Abiiah his sonne reigned in his stead.
16 E Roboão dormiu com os seus pais, e foi sepultado na cidade de Davi, e Abias, o seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
